ooo I know a girl (rachel) that might have the same problems you're having.. upper abdominal pain/upper back pain..nausea.. probably an ulcer, caused by h.ploryi. It's confirmed usually by a test or there's a not so accurate breath test. Usually treated with triple therapy antibiotics. Even though you're taking nexium, h. ploryi still can live and prosper in a stomach..so you probably need that blood test asap. Your primary doctor can order the test for you.

I am taking 40mg nexium once daily and have recently been Rx'd simvastatin (10mg). It's a low dose, but there appears to be a potential moderate interaction, possibly myopathy and shortness of breath. If you've been on the nexium and you've changed your diet to a GERD-friendly one and the symptoms continue, have you been scoped yet? If not, it's time to ask your doc for more testing. Ask to be tested for H. pylori and have an upper endoscopy done to get an idea of what your esophagus, stomach and duodenum look like. All PPIs have side-effects that can be more serious than weight gain.

If I take any meds that are processed through the liver my liver enzymes are always elevated in which then the doctor stops the meds. Hi, Apparently you can have elevated liver enzymes if you have Celiac disease. I am not exactly sure why. Imuran also causes this. I, too, have Crohn's disease and elevated liver enzymes, but am not taking Imuran, so we're trying to figure out what's going on. Good luck to you!

put me on a high dosage of antibiotics a month later and I am on Nexium 40mg once a day. It has been 6 months and I still have some hunger type pains and nausea after I eat. A bit better but not any worse. No vomiting / high temps / blood in stool. I do have yellow stools which I assume are caused by all the tums and nexium I am taking. I have GI appointment at the end of the month. Is it possible to have a stomach ulcer for 6 months?

I am just so exhausted by this terrible and strange disease where I cannot rest.

I went to doctor and he gave me nexium and the symptoms are still there its feels like it swollen it doesn't hurt it just feel like something is there

Mental stress and physical exertion can cause angina (chest pain) due to the heart not receiving enough blood/oxygen. Your doctor should have given you a free sample of a nitrate. If there is immediate relief from the discomfort, it could indicate occluded vessels. A nitrate pill diltates coronary vessels. An EKG is not very reliable for ischemia dx. A stress test is a better test for possible occlusions.

I am currently ONLY on Nexium 40mg a day and I take the pill in the morning, and no matter how much I manage to drink, by 2am the next morning I wake up because my tongue and mouth are BONE dry! I can't find any answers other than this being a side effect. Hopefully it's not damaging my liver or sucking water out of my system!
