New neck lift procedure

Common Questions and Answers about New neck lift procedure

neck

Avatar m tn Hi I just had a revision procedure that included neck lift to correct my platysma muscles. I originally had liposuction and a thread lift done to rejuvenate my lower part of my face. I didn't want anything invasive so opted for the thread lift with lipo under the chin and lightly underneath my jawline. After the healing was done it was obvious that the procedure did not obtain good results and exposed my platysma bands and had much indentations where the thread lift was placed under my jaw.
Avatar n tn I had a face & neck lift 3.5 years ago and I am still experiencing swollen jaw area & tingling sensations in my cheek areas. Sometimes I feel like I am going to choke the chin/neck area is so tight. I exercise, massage, hot/cold compress, etc but nothing is relieving the swollen areas. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn 2 years ago I had a neck lift, with lipo under the chin and my upper and lower eyes done. I have had constant and often debilitating pain since the surgery. Burning like Chinese burns, no feeling to the sides of the face, tightness that is overwheelming. Slight swelling along the jawline RHS that is worse at different times. I've had blood tests, xrays, ultrasound, second opinions from other plastics surgeons and doctors.

Avatar n tn You will need a body lift procedure to rid you of the excess skin. This should be discussed with your surgeon who can take photos and write a letter to your insurance carrier about coverage for this procedure. Pre-authorization of the coverage for this procedure would be mandatory to be comfortable that they will cover the costs. Insurance carriers have different criteria for coverage and often a fight is necessary tio obtain coverage.

Avatar n tn Due to the usual reasons for sagging skin - aging, chronic dieting and genetics, I am considering a buttocks lift. I am worried that I may be bringing unforeseen medical/health problems into this relatively late stage of my life from what seems a pretty radical surgery which also leaves inch wide scars that run along the backside. How much pain and suffering is there? How long does it take to recover and resume a physically active life - vigorous daily exercise, jogging, sports, dancing, etc.
Avatar f tn Last year I had a minimally invasive chin lift procedure which has left some knotty scar tissue spots under/around ear lobes and 2 hard knots behind middle of both ears. They are still quite RED, are very sore to touch and itch constantly, especially when I lie down. Can these be removed/cleaned up and smoothed out so they look/feel better and the pain goes away?
Avatar n tn I had a partial face lift and neck lift 2 years ago. I still feel extreme tension/tightness at the sides of my neck, near my cervical nodes. I cannot palpate any node enlargement. I am also experiencing increasing parasthesia of my lips to the point of difficulty enunciating words. I have no lip drooping, but I experience some saliva drooling while speaking. My surgeon merely suggests more surgery.
Avatar f tn hello again, It's 3 weeks since my surgery and so far my biggest problem is not knowing what is normal post surgery pain & numbness and what is not normal. After talking to a few people who have had this procedure I think I'm doing pretty good. I'm getting better each week and I guess that can be seen by my previous posts. :) I still have major pain in my right shoulder joint with any activity including simple holding my husbands hand next to me.
Avatar m tn I suggest you ask to be referred to a specialist for a second opinion.
1666982 tn?1445198395 There are two other types of surgeries which can be tired. One is a new procedure called LIFT surgery and the other is endorectal advancement flap. Both the surgeries are effective in closing the fistula. Please ask your doctor about this. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar f tn The cause is said to be some type of anatomic disturbance in the greater or lesser occipital nerve on either or both sides of the head, and the nerve may be compressed by surrounding muscles or the tunnel the nerve passes through at the back of the neck may be small. The two-hour procedure under general anesthesia is performed away from the nerve roots, limiting the risk of injury to the spine. Avatar f tn Two weeks ago today I had a face and neck lift. I was very swollen at first, but the swelling is subsiding. Of course, I still have numbness in the lower cheeks and neck. I look very normal when I don't smile or when I slightly smile; however, when my smile is wider or when I laugh - my bottom lip (right side only) pulls down near the corner. I can actually feel sensation of the difference to that side of my mouth as I smile.
Avatar n tn Six months ago I had a mini face lift. I had a great deal of bleeding after surgery and extreme nausea. I had 10 cc of fluid/blood removed from a large pocket on my neck. Two months ago I needed a second surgery due to an unusual fold in my neck and some blisters and hard knots under the skin of my neck. Since that surgery I have been getting steroid injections into the hard knots/scars. I now have a depressed pocket, the size of a penny and several rock hard knots under the neck skin.
Avatar m tn Spinal fusion procedure and internal fixation devices are utilized. The spinal fusion procedure is basically a joining together of two or more adjacent vertebra to form a solid unit. The spinal fusion requires bone graft (preferably from the host). Take care!
Avatar f tn I have recently been in the process of having an infection (both bacterial and virul) leading to the discovery of a large neck cyst. My physician sent me for a neck/thyroid ultrasound, followed by a neck/thryroid CT scan. I was then referred to, and have just seen an ENT, where a biopsy of the cyst was performed. The ENT has diagnosed me with a Thyroglossal Cyst (or TDC). It is very large, and to on the left of my Hyoid bone.
Avatar m tn Most likely your symptoms may arises after some time due to nerve irritation in the cervical (neck) spine because of injury/prolapse where contact between the edges of the vertebrae can cause neck pain. In few people, this pain may be referred and perceived as occurring in the back of head, shoulders, arms or chest, rather than just the neck. Other symptoms may include vertigo, nausea (dizziness) that you felt. Other symptoms are like neck pain and stiffness can be intermittent.
Avatar f tn I have been having trouble getting pregnant..OB found a lump in my neck, have had FNA, 2 CT, 2 ultrasound, and bloodwork. My TSH is 36.9, thyroxine 4.2, T3 is 27, and free thyroxine index 1.1. I've been to a surgeon and pulmonolgist who think I have sarcoid b/c I feel fine. Surgeon says the TSh is a little off, but no meds b/c I am not overweight or showing symptoms. OB disagrees and put me on 25 mcg thyroxine. What are side effects? I really feel fine now without medication.
