Neurontin withdrawal how long

Common Questions and Answers about Neurontin withdrawal how long

neurontin

Looking for people's experiences with Neurontin 1) in general and 2) specifically if its helpful for withdrawal. The poll is for people's experiences using Neurontin during withdrawal - not necessarily FOR withdrawal but just if you used during. lso let me know if you feel like it, what it actually helped with. If you have other experiences with it, please comment on this post and let me know. I was prescribed it weeks ago for facial pain, but I havent filled it.
Scared me but passed shortly after it started. How long do these withdrawal symptoms last? I wish I could sleep peacefully like I did while on Neurontin :( That would be heavenly!
How many people on this site have been put on neurontin for pain issues, etc? I have done reading on the side effects, withdrawals from this drug and it is scary. I have a whole *hitload of this stuff and have not touched it. Why are we becoming the guinea pigs for many of these drugs that have been on the market for a short time? I just would like some feedback.
My concern is with long term use and side effects of Neurontin (mid-forties male, 170 lbs). Can you please enlighten me regarding this question? Thank you in advance.
I wasn't planning on being on it for too long, but I am amazed at how much easier the withdrawals are this time, then the last time. (Yeah I relapsed, sorry) But I dusted myself off and started again.
i called the pharmacy, didn't tell him who i was just that i had some questions, he said that its not addicting. then why am i feeling this way. my tolerance is increasing what do i do,how do i get off this evil drug.
Everything Im saying here has also been told to me by a few doctors like I said that knew about Neurontin and how it really works. For people that want neurontin to work again its best to slightly lower the dose for a day or two then go back up. This keeps tolerance from forming which in neurontin happens super fast. If you think you are having depressing feelings for some people it can also come form this and Id discuss it with your doctor definately.
I'm up to 10 to 15 a day now and take five just to get me moving in the morning. This is no way to live. How long and how hard are the with drawals from it? I don't want to live my life around this drug anymore. Just a word of encouragment some times is what I think I need and to know that I am not alone.
I am not on 7 days clean taking 600-900mg of Neurontin a day and I have not had one withdrawal symptom. I mean not 1! I actually am clear headed for the first time in 10 years, I am doing crafts, cleaning my house and playing Christmas music!! Let me tell you this never happens. I realized even when I was telling myself the vicodin was my savior and that was how I could function I was full of crap. It did not help me.
I have been on Percocet for 10 years and then was taking Ultram to not have withdrawal but after reading all the horror stories on here about Ultram, I tried the Neurontin. I have been on it for 3 days and no withdrawal symptoms whatsoever. I am shocked. I heard it is not addictive either so I'm staying on it for a week or two and then stopping to see if the Perc are out of my system.
FYI......Google neurontin & withdrawal.......I have read horror stories. i dont know how real they are as most seem to be posted around the time of the lawsuit...lol. I have taken it for a while and stopped with no withdrawal, although i haven't taken it but for a couple months lately. I love it ! I won't go back to opiates, so I have no choice. Nauty.........
Going cold turkey on Neurontin can be painful and scary. Neurontin withdrawal has been compared to how alcohol withdrawal feels. You should slowly reduce the amount you are taking so that you don't get any withdrawal symptoms (especially because you have been on it for so long).
How long you feel bad and how bad you feel will likely depend on your level of use prior to quitting. If you went from your highest use to zero it will be worse and longer than if you tapered down to minimal use. Even if it's bad, you should only feel like pure hell for 3 or 4 days and that's really no more than a bad case of the flu. For me, the worst part was the Restless Leg Syndrome (aka RLS) and the general feeling of wanting to crawl out of your skin.
I take both these medications and have for a long time without problem. Neurontin is a pretty safe drug so she shouldn't have problems. She may find that she no longer needs xanax after taking neurontin for awhile. I'm sure her doctor will advise her on the use of both these medicatons.
Some said the side effects were awful and had to stop taking it but others said it was amazing and got rid of RLS and creepy crawlies (mainly from opiate withdrawals). I'm wondering if anyone here has taken it for the nerve pain from a herniated disc and how long does it take for it to start relieving pain? Also, I was wondering if anyone knows if it helps with the restless legs you get from opiate withdrawal or otherwise.
I expected her to up the dose to 40mg, but she surprised me today on our monthly phone call by suggesting it was a failure, that ssris didn't seem to be working for me, and though she has no idea how to deal with my unusual situation, she was inclined to try either Neurontin/Gabapentin or Depakote. I was pretty taken aback, and we ended with me going to 40mg of Celexa until I see her next month.
How people can give advice on how to get off of opiates when they cannot get off themselves. It just doesn't make since! I do not care how long you been on opiates. How can anyone take you serious, when the system did not work for you?
I'm not sure if this is why I haven't felt w/d yet. Does anyone know what the dose of neurontin should be and or how long should I take? I have about 15 days worth of neurontin using the doses I mentioned. Thank you all for your help and good luck!
How long does Effexor XR withdrawal last? I understand the time frame will be different for everyone, but I'm assuming there is a general window that most people fall into? A few weeks? Months?? Some background: I've only been on anti-depressants for four months. I was first put on Zoloft while I was inpatient for an eating disorder, but it didn't seem to do anything. Two months ago I was switched to Effexor 150mg/day, as well as Neurontin 900mg/day.
I was wondering if anyone has any experience using this med for w/d? Like dosage, how long you took it, things like that. It's helping a lot but it's only been a couple days and I hate the way I feel, I want to take a pill so had and I'm telling myself to just push through this and soon I'll feel better but to be honest I'm feeling pretty hopeless. I feel like I'm never going to feel ok or "normal" again! Anyway any advice or personal stories on neurontin would be helpful.
Hi, I actually have a script for neurontin. How long did you have to stay on the neurontin to get through all the withdrawals and did you find your pain gone when you came off it? I have many issues with neurontin and can't be going anyplace if I take it, so it is not a good drug for a replacement for me pain medications. I had been on it for about 6 weeks (it did work for withdrawals) but when I stopped the pain was there in full force.
OMG I'm so excited. My only withdrawal symptom is the restless limbs. I don't have anxiety or sleeplessness or chills. I will take one tonight and report back. Thanks so much guys!
Main thing with benzo is slow and steady. And because of seizure risk, should be done under a Dr's plan. How long and how much were you on, and how fast are you trying to do it? Klonopin has a long half live. There are many factors at play here. You will get advise from other's, just sit tight! And welcome to the forum!
we r all different and will react differently to drugs...so no one can tell u how u will feel...only how u could feel....and I know....gabapentin did affect my IBS. Good luck Lori...and listen to ur body....no one else!
i am in the process of neurontin withdrawal right now...and its not fun. i am 72 hours free. no sleep @ all day 1 and thats with taking tremazapam. granted i went ct against my dr wishes but it was giving me twitches. i was 600mg x 4 day just over 3 months. i feel better today but i am worried about sleeping tonight. it's also causing me to have some anxiety. never had it before. from all i have read this really works for some ppl.
But I'd still love to hear what others think about neurontin. How long have you been on Lyrica? Thanks again so very much!!!!
I guess what I really want to know after that long post is how long should I really expect this? Like I over emphasized this is day 8, a Friday. I missed an entire week of work and am expected back on Monday which will be day 11. Will I be up to it? I work in NYC and the commute in is very physically challenging as a 2 mile walk is part of my commute. I know we are all different but could this really be WEEKS like ive read on here? Or Months? Really? Is my doc lying?
