Avatar f tn I am on Neurontin for Panic Disorder. When I first started taking it, it felt like I was kicked in the head. It took about a week for the initial dosing side affects to wear off. Also each time I increased the dose I got the same feeling for about a day or so - hope this helps.
Avatar m tn Thank you guys for your input. I left this out, but I'm on Lamictal & Lithium for BP & Clonazepam & Buspirone for panic & anxiety disorder. The combo of these drugs with Gabapentin (Neurontin) is what really screwed me up more than I already am. The Gabapentin really knocked me for a loop. It gave me the shakes, made me dizzy & really screwed with my cognitive skills. I think this is why my shrink wants to keep me away from this class of drugs.
Avatar f tn I have been dealing with episodes of rapid heart rate (from 150+) that after being tested from cardiologist was diagnosed as panic disorder. My shrink had me on most recently Neurontin and Xanax and Inderal to help slow my heart rate down which makes me panic even more. The Neurontin and Xanax weren't very effective and we just switched over to Klonopin since I need to take this every day and it's safer than xanax daily (supposedly). I also went back to Prozac.
Avatar f tn Are you on medication? Antidepressants can cause ringing in the ears. But since you also have vertigo, you may want to see an ENT specialist to rule out any inner ear problem. Vertigo can come and go for no specific reason and can last from a few days to months. I've had the ringing for years, you can get used to it. I do hope you're addressing the anxiety and panic attacks. Take care.
Avatar f tn Also, your psychologist might help you, too, maybe get you on some tranquilizers, there are some tranqs they prescribe for seizures, Klonopin is really good for panic disorder and is also prescribed for seizures. Anyhow, that would get you some immediate help. But if this unusual stuff keeps happening for another month, well, you will need to proceed with further evaluation, because this could be the MS they are considering.
1134609 tn?1269272200 I am currently stuck between a rock and a hard place. I am on 1600mgs of Neurontin (400mgs a day) and it has been working as a good mood stabilizer for me. In fact, we realized that the issues I was having in March were related to bouncing around on that dosage. I was given 1200mgs a day (mandatory) and 400mgs to take as needed to sleep. When I quit chewing I stopped taking the extra dose because I felt that I didn't need it; then I started cycling with the sun again.

1689696 tn?1305819097 Hello to all I am new to this forum and have a question that I hope someone out there can answer.I was prescribed neurontin by my pain management doc for 4 bulging discs in my back on 6/8/11. I take 1 300mg pill 3x's a day. I am going to see my primary doc on 6/13/11 for severe anxiety/ panic attacks. I would like to know what anxiety meds I should AVOID while taking the neurontin? Thanks to all who answer.
Avatar f tn Klonopin has been all I have taken for the last 3 years to control my panic disorder. It worked for the insomnia, also. I tapered down to 1 1/2 mgs a day from 2, a short time ago. I had a set back acouple of months ago and instead of going back to 2mgs, my doctor wanted me to get off klonopin so I'm taking the other meds to take it's place. I felt better taking just one med, but there's not much I can do. I suppose he's right about long-term benzo use.
Avatar f tn Hello, I have suffered from gereralized anxiety and panic disorder for since I was 17 year old. When I was in my late teens, my triggers were large crowds, tight spaces, etc. Now that I'm in my early 30's, I still panic in large crowds and tight spaces, but now I've developed chronic panic attacks that happen around the time I am ready to fall asleep. I'm also someone who catastrophizes the littlest situation. I regularly see a psychiatrist & therapist who I love.
Avatar n tn I have heard many a bad thing about prozac, anyone out there take prozac who suffers from panic disorder and depression?
Avatar n tn will a total hysterectomy cure my panic disorder.
Avatar n tn My mother has been suffering from a panic disorder for the past 5 months, primarily experiencing the panic at night. She describes the feeling as a pit in her stomach and fear, but she can not really say what she fears. She just says " I am fearful." She has seen a psychiatrist who gave her zoloft first, but it did not work. Then they gave her xanax, but again this did not work. Then they told her to take more xanax and Klonopin, but she continues to experience the panic.
Avatar f tn Thanks a lot yes I took benzo for 1yr continously for a yr and so .yes I was going through depression for long.I read a lot of articles about benzos and ssri's and after doing so im even more depressed .I dont know wether im clear of seizure risk but the thing im most worried about is the panic attacks they are too brutal to handle.I really feel now that being physically handicapped is not as worse as people suffering from panic attacks atleast they can go freely witout fear .
Avatar f tn Does anyone know how to heal anxiety/ panic disorder without medication? I'm on mirtazapine and xanax as needed. I hate it. Tired of feeling like a zombie.

1126790 tn?1268014605 I've had what is presumable panic disorder for the past two years now, and today seems to be particularly bad. Earlier, I started to feel tingly all over, and when I noticed it, I went into a short panic attack (chest discomfort, extreme fear, urge to leave the place, etc). Now the tingling sensation won't go away, and I feel somewhat dizzy. My heartrate is fine, there are no mental changes in the slightest, and my legs feel slightly weak still, like I was just scared quite badly.

Avatar f tn I saw a therapist a couple years ago and she diagnosed me with anxiety, panic disorder and post traumatic stress disorder but didn't put me on any meds. I was able to deal with it for the first year but it seems to be getting worse now!! What do I do?
Avatar m tn I was just wondering if what I have is a symptom of panic disorder, which I have. It feels like there's a heat rush going to my head and it feels tingly. Is this common? Thanks.
Avatar m tn Since that trip to the hospital I live in constant fear and have panic attacks about once every other day, and have trouble breathing usually accompanied with chills. Do you think I might have a panic disorder, or even OCD. Any help is good help.
Avatar f tn You've asked the perfect questions about Celexa. It was prescribed to me months ago but haven't taken it yet. Afraid to. It was also given to me for panic attacks. I hear mixed messages about it, but everybody that I've heard stuff from was using it for depression. I'm wondering if it has the same effect on people taking it for depression as it does on people taking it for anxiety/panic. I'll keep checking this post and please let me know if you do take it and how you feel.
