mirapex

1200450 tn?1317496867 Have any of you ever had issues falling asleep while on the mirapex? I find that once I do get to sleep it helps me stay asleep better. But for some reason the mirapex gives me anxiety and makes it harder for me to get to sleep. I spend up to 2 hours just trying to fall asleep. I even tried adding over the counter sleeping pills with it but still find it difficult to get to sleep.
1023657 tn?1251844941 Some options are - Lyrica, Cymbalta, and Savella. These are the only three drugs approved by the U.S. FDA for the treatment of fibromyalgia. Lyrica is an antiseizure medication, while Cymbalta and Savella are antidepressants. All three have been known to reduce the pain of fibromyalgia significantly.
462570 tn?1273632977 TrayCee: Why WOULDNT it be? If the nuerotransmitters are not functioning correctly in your brain then it causes all the things that Tuck mentioned. Chronic pain is treated with antidepressants and narcotics and other stabilizing meds - SO that would be a good indication that if you can target the correct transmitter then you may beable to figure out what causes fibromyalgia. Tuck: I'm aware of everything you mentioned - I will disagree with you on the "years of education" thing.
574118 tn?1305135284 I do know that taking an antidepressant without a mood stabilizer can cause mania, also I take Mirapex (a dopamine drug) to help treat my fibro and I'm under "special watch" because the dopamine meds can cause mania even in people that aren't bipolar. My husband was taking Mirapex as well for his fibro and he had to stop because it made him feel manic, and he's not bipolar. So I can't speak for the seratonin, but the dopamine can definitely make someone manic.

Avatar f tn I have RLS/PLMD. Took Mirapex for several years, now on Requip. The meds have not cured me, but they do give me significant periods of time where I can get decent sleep and feel more rested. I also have sleep apnea, but the sleep studies didn't pick it up for several years because my legs moved so often I rarely slept enough for it to show up. The meds do have side effects in some, so do your homework. I think the sleep study is a good idea.

Avatar f tn I've had fibromyalgia since 1992. I remember when they said I had it. I said "ok what now." it's been a life long process of trial and error. And we are all very different. I am sitting here right now with my Tens unit on my neck. If you have not heard of those look that up on the internet. They use the commercial version in physical therapy. IT really helps. It's like electrical stimulation. It is small electrodes that are sticky that you place on the area of pain.
Avatar m tn Has anyone tried Pramipexole (Mirapex, Mirapexin, Sifrol) for chronic pain? I have had low back pain for about 15 years now. I finally got someone to do an MRI back in June (I think, it was slightly before summer 2016) and they found a herniated disc at L4-L5 and a degenerated disc at L5-S1. The neurosurgeon decided surgery wasn't worth the risk and pain treatment was the best option.
Avatar f tn I am new to this and haven't written about anything.I have been treated for fibromyalgia for over a year now. The dr. never really stated I have fibro. I'm being treated for high cholesterol and trigylcerides. I'm taking welchol powder once a day and trilipex for this. I'm taking lyrica 150mg. bid and mirapex at bedtime. I went to get a lab slip yesterday for blood work and was informed i needed to be fasting for my cholesterol and trigy. levels.

Avatar n tn hi. you might get more help if this wasnt posted in the dental forum. my mom just started taking cymbalta its an antidepressant but it seems to help her pain. i am not sure if its been approved for fibromyalgia but her dr had read a few articles about how it might help so he told the insurance company it was for depression caused by her pain so they would be sure to cover it. if your current dr isnt up to date with treatment options i would go to someone else. good luck!
1154672 tn?1262222616 I have severe Restless leg Syndrome. I have been on Mirapex for about 6 years now, and never had a problem. I am unemployed now, and do not have any health insurance. My doctor has been great to give me samples, however; they are out of them right now. My doctor tried giving me clonazepam 1 mg 2 nights ago, I walked the floors and tossed and turned all night. I called my doctor, and she said to increase my clonazepam to 2mg before bed.
492869 tn?1285018933 This may be a broad question, but what is the recommended treatment for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?
Avatar m tn I think the one you are thinking about is called Hylands and it is a supplement.
689327 tn?1240229164 I take Celebrex, Cymbalta, and Lyrica for these conditions...also Baclofen (muscle relaxant) for other spinal injuries. Am fused L-3 to S-1. Last night (early this morning), my husband reminded me that compression hose helps, so I put one on....did help enough to get some sleep. I am now wondering if it might be RLS. Guess I will try a rheumatologist again, and see what they say. It does help to read other tales....maybe I am not really crazy.
Avatar m tn Quite high and warrants treatment if it [treatment] will make you feel better cos wellness is ultimate. I will go for test to determine my baseline and start treatment (entecavir or TNF). If treatment does not yield result after 3 or 6 months, I'll stop. Most of us have strings of malaria in this part of the world (Nigeria) and we rarely even complain.
Avatar n tn my mother has extreme leg cramps at nights this started 5 years ago she could not sleep at nights because of the pain.she took all kinds of pain killers then took mirapex nothing would help for years. 4 years ago because of the pain and the sleeplesness she fell on her back and broke her neck she was in a halo for 3 months still the leg pains continued. the next year she fell again and was giadnosed with progressive supra nuclear palsy she is now in a nursing home.
410281 tn?1254229064 It's possible. Sleep deprivation causes a generalized nervous system excitability which can manifest in various muscle twitches and spasms. Mirapex (which is also used for Parkinson's) acts in your central nervous system to control your nervous system problems. Did you ever treat your sleep apnea? And if so, how was it treated?
Avatar n tn t know about the Monavie but what I take and is wonderful is Mirapex. I take it 3 times a day and have no restless legs unless I skip a dose or run out and then the RLS returns. I hope this has helped.
Avatar n tn I'm on .25mg of Mirapex for RLS and am gaining weight. Has anyone else experienced this. Any idea as to why. Suggestions? Thanks!
