1554921 tn?1294370388 which one, actually cleared up my face for the time, metronidazole. As my face cleared up, the doctor prescribed me with a topical metronidazole called Metrogel (which is supposably to cure Rosacea). Well i applied the gel as indicated by the doctor and it did nothing. 3 weeks after taking the antibiotic, my face was clear then my face brokeout again. I didnt know what to do, so i just delt with it and waited for it to go away alone.
Avatar m tn Rosacea has been one of the probably diagnosis made. Along with various other kinds of dermatitis. The metronidazole rosacea cream did very little for the rash, so I kind of ruled out rosacea as a problem.
Avatar n tn Hi. Clinique make a large range of pore-minimising products. For rosacea, try Clinique's Redness Solutions daily moisturising cream which lessens the appearance of facial veins and redness. La Roche-Posay make a good range for rosacea called Rosaliac. If store bought products are of limited benefit see your doctor for topical metronidazole or oral oxytetracycline, both of which are helpful for rosacea. Eloise.
20814570 tn?1520098212 Think you can get rid of this permanently with these treatments? Would it last for so long though? It's been there for over 20 years.
Avatar n tn Isotretinoin may be considered as a treatment option for all forms of severe or therapy-resistant rosacea. Sunscreens, particularly those that protect against ultraviolet A and B light waves and have a sun-protecting factor (SPF) of 13 or higher, are recommended for all people with rosacea. It would be advisable to consult a skin specialist for this and then decide the cause and further plan of management. Let us know if you need any other information. Regards.
Avatar m tn Hydrocortisone is not indicated for long term use on the face as it causes thinning of the skin. It is not suitable for treating rosacea because, as you have found, the initial redness comes back worse. Oral oxytetracycline may be necessary as well as topical metronidozole. La Roche-Posay make a good cleanser called Rosaliac which is good for thin, fragile skin and Rosacea. Eloise.
Avatar f tn Yes she prescribed me metronidazole topical gel. I stopped using it because it was irritating my skin and it was drying it out, although I read that it is a common side effect of using the gel. It also says that I wouldn’t see results until around the 8 week mark but I haven’t consistently used it for that long so I don’t know if it helps my rosacea. Should I start using it again??
Avatar n tn //www.facedoctor.ca is a helpful site for the treatment of rosacea.
Avatar f tn When you get insurance a trip to the doctor is indicated for a diagnosis. If you have Rosacea, a prescription of oral Oxytetracycline and topical metronidazole will help. Eloise.
Avatar n tn I am 28 and have had rosacea for about 1 year now. My skin is severely dry, tight and flaky. My cheecks are always extremely red. Rosacea sufferers are not supposed to use exfoliaters, so how am i supposed to get rid of the dry flaky skin? I cant use cover up because it only highlights the dead skin and i dont like going out in public with my skin all red and flaky. HELP. I dont want to take antibiotics. Does anyone know of any natural remedies?
Avatar n tn First and foremost is to rule out rosacea. Rosacea is a cutaneous disorder primarily of convexities of the central part of the face , such as forehead; cheeks ;nose; and chin. The second possibility is of perioral dermatitis. In perioral dermatitis there are usually small red bumps or pus bumps, and mild peeling. The cause of perioral dermatitis is unknown. But some dermatologists believe it is a form of rosacea or sunlight-worsened seborrheic dermatitis. The last possibility is of eczema.
Avatar m tn Hello, It is difficult confirming a diagnosis without examination , but it can be rosacea. Rosacea is a cutaneous disorder primarily of convexities of the central part of the face , such as forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. Pimples are sometimes included as part of the definition. Treatment options vary from antibiotic creams, antihistaminics, sun screens to laser treatment. Also the triggers of rosacea have to be avoided. My advice would be to consult a dermatologist. I hope it helps.
Avatar f tn I would guess that this is Rosacea. I say this because I had it. And I say I HAD it because I SIGNIFICANTLY reduced the symptoms by reducing the stress in my life. In 2003 I noticed the same thing as you. I started to have something like acne, but it wasn't exactly like the kind of acne we're used to as a teenager. I would get little sort-of pus filled bumps on my cheeks. Though first it started with just red areas that then became inflamed. No itch or pain or anything.
Avatar n tn Cool, Thanks for the tip!
Avatar n tn I have recently used an at home recipe for waxing. The recipe contained brown sugar lemon juice and water. I waxed around my chin area and upper lip. After waxing within the 3 days after I developed red bumps in those areas. I am not sure if you can consider it rosacea or not. I have had acne prone skin for my whole life but recently got over it, so I am not stressed and worried as my skin is no longer clear. The bumps are very close together and feel very rough, they are also quite sore.
Avatar n tn I have a red rash/cluster of blemishes on my chin that has extended up my cheek and under my chin. They are not itchy or painful, just unsightly. It has been present for a couple of months now. I have tried everything to get rid of them--zit cream, tea tree oil, Metronidazole cream, homeopathic rosacea gel, eczema cream, Desitin, and calamine lotion. Nothing seems to help. I did not change my makeup, laundry detergent, or skin care products before it began. I have fair, sensitive skin as well.
Avatar n tn If so, ask your doctor for a prescription of Flagyl (metronidazole) - one 500 mg tablet taken twice daily for 10 days. It should clear up. Xifaxan is said to be the strongest treatment, but it costs like $1,000! Google SIBO for more info, and God bless you all!!
