Metrogel discharge

Common Questions and Answers about Metrogel discharge

metrogel

Hey there. I have used the MetroGel before and that "melted toilet paper" discharge is normal, I have the same thing when I was taking it. I also did a ton of research while I was taking it and there were tons of other posts with women experiencing the same discharge. I don't know why they don't put it in the side effects, but I think you should be fine. Hope all goes well.
My doctor said everything on the outside and everything that she could see looked a lot better, but I still have milky white discharge which she took a sample of and will look at if under the microscope in thier larger office. She also took a urine sample and will send that to the lab for a culture. She is going to call be on Thursday with the news, but she said that if it does show bacteria, she gave me some sample of the MetroGel to start using once I speak with her.
I was just wondering if you have had any change in the milky discharge since using Metrogel? I have had a milky discharge, was to BV and perscribe Metrogel for 5 days also. From the first day of use I had no more discharge of anykind, feeling bloated, slight abdominal pain and lower back pain also... wondering if you have had any kind of thick gel like "stuff" instead of a discharge following use of Metrogel?
metrogel will leak out. it also will give you a discharge after a few days that is kind chunky and very unattractive. It also might cause some itching too with the discharge. Just rinse your genital area with lukewarm water as needed to remove the discharge and help with the irritation from the chunkies.
Hello, Bacterial vaginosis is the most common cause of abnormal vaginal odor and discharge. It is caused by a change in the type of bacteria found in the vagina. The exact cause for the change in type of bacteria is still not known, but it is can be due to IUD’s,multiple sex partners or having intercourse with a new partner. In addition to unpleasant "fishy" vaginal odor, thin white or yellowish discharge from vagina may also be present.
Diagnosis can be confirmed after pelvic examination and microscopic examination of the vaginal discharge. Treatment is by metronidazole((Flagyl, MetroGel) and clindamycin (Cleocin). They are available as pills or vaginal gels or creams. Please do not use any vaginal douches. Although bacterial vaginosis is not a serious disorder but it has been associated with the development of pelvic inflammatory disease and other infections.
I don't understand why I have a clear/ yellowish like discharge it's been going on for like 3 yrs. now I'm still a virgin but I have tried to have sex (before this had started), I been prescribe flagyl, terconazole, doxycycline hyclate, diflucan. I'm only 19 years old I don't know what to do.

It is good that you were able to see your gynecologist and had your full work up done. Metrogel may cause adverse side effects such as vaginal discharge, vaginitis, vulva/vaginal irritative symptoms and pelvic discomfort. (ref: http://www.rxlist.com/metrogel-vaginal-drug/side-effects-interactions.htm) While it is possible that the discharge is due to this, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation.
I do remember having a green discharge at one point. I was called in diflucan, metrogel and tindamax at various times. Looking back I'm now wondering if he gave me another STD in addition to the HPV. According to him and the timeline, my infections don't match up with his one night stand. I just stumbled across green discharge being associated with HPV? Could I have had a dormant HPV for that long of a time (five years) and then had the green discharge start once the HPV came out of dormancy?
Ever since I last had unprotected sex (October 25, 2006) and I haven't had sex since, there has been this uncontrollable discharge coming from my vaginal area. It comes in this white looking fluid, with a smell not too strong but strong enough for me to smell while I am seated. There is no pain or blood, just the white fluid, more like a milk type. It happens at any moment, I could be getting dressed in the morning, or eating, and it just comes out.
Sorry if it's TMI but I've been having an unpleasant smelling discharge. I take a shower and wash really well and a few minutes later, the smell is back. I've had yeast infections before and the smell is not really fishy but it's noticeable (by me, anyway). I'm 11 weeks pregnant and remember the dr giving me a med that comes in a stick that I had to put up there with my first pregnancy (also in the first trimester).
and i wear tight clothing alot. but i have noticed a smell in the discharge ( nothing major) but there is some smell. Also, it changed consistancy and color and even amounts. sometimes, there's a lot of discharge, other times there isnt. Since im so active. i was wondering if the sweating around my vagina was causing the smell to the discharge. I have not gotten a pap test. Im going to start my period on wednesday and it is now monday.

How often can I used metrogel? I just finished a 5 day round of treatment. I was good for about a week after. So I took a herbal cleanser(just senna capsules), probably where I messed up, and my discharge has returned! I'm furious but I have 2 refills. Should I wait a few days or should I start it back up? Should i get acidophilus supplement? I really don't want to go through the poking and probing again.
Hi guys so I just went to the restroom and had a lot of discharge and inside the discharge there was very little blood but it looked like it was kinda veiny. Like brownish reddish veins. It wasn't all over. I don't have any cramping or anything like that but I'm a little conserned. I took metrogel for the first time last night bcuz I have a bacteria. Idk if it's just cleaning it out or wat it could be.
I'm eighteen years old and I've been having a vaginal discharge that is almost like a cloudy white color. On my panty liner or underwear it dries to a yellow color. I've looked up issues about this and everyone has said they smell a foul odor. I don't know if I would really call mine a foul odor, just not a pleasent one. Sometimes it's almost like a sour smell and sometimes it's not. I've had intercourse before, but this discharge has been happening even when I was eleven.
A few years ago, I had a few mild cases of BV and took metrogel--- then last May, I thought I had BV again with this discharge and I took the metrogel again but nothing changed. I've tried several different antibiotics, both vaginal and oral, I've done Monistat and Diflucan... I even had one doctor prescribe boric acid pills for a month. I tried plain yogurt at one point, but that didn't help either.
I know vaginal discharge is acidic, but this doesn't really make any sense to what's happening to me. After washing my underwear, I have noticed that where vaginal discharge has touched my underwear, there are discolourations to my underwear. It looks as if it has bleached my underwear as my knickers are different colours, and where it has touched the discharge it has turned the knickers yellow/white. And the colour of the knickers has literally been taken out.
I recently went to the doctors and got tested because i was very itchy and had a strange odour/discharge. The doctor told me I had bacterial vaginosis. I finished the treatment as directed. Now ive been getting this weird tingly/pins and needles sensation and its itchy from time to time. Im worried the doctor missed something or if im just going nuts. Any answers would be great, i just want some peace of mind!
I stopped taking yasmin a few weeks ago (when I completed my last pack) but since then i've been getting a dry white clumpy discharge with no itching and no odor. As a precaution, i've also taken a weekly dose of diflucan for the last 2 weeks. Is this discharge normal? Or could it be another form of yeast infection w/o the itching?

I have an odor and a sticky discharge. Is this from the Estrace? What can I do to make my sex life more normal again?
For over a year now, I have had a thick yellow-green discharge; no odor, no itch...nothing but the discharge which is heavy--I have to wear a pad daily. I am a very hygiene-conscious person. I have had every STD test-all negative, and normal Paps. I was told I had vaginitis and cervicitis. I have had rounds of Flagyl, Doxy, Cypro, Levaquin, Metrogel and Clindomycin vaginally and am now using boric acid vaginal suppositories---still no change.

ive been having smelly vaginal discharge. ive already been to my doctor and have been tested for evrything and she says im fine and that all my results came back negative.
you can also use metrogel while on your period. if you get thick clumpy discharge a few days after using the metrogel - that is normal too. It's clumps of bacteria leaving your body. you need to stop all self treatment except for the fem dophilus at this point. You also shouldn't wear panty shields or use tampons. both can lead to vaginitis. this isn't a symptom of herpes to have discharge all the time.
Keep in mind that BV smells fishy and usually is associated with greyish or greenish thin discharge. No smell and thick discharge does sound like a yeast infection. When babies get them they appear as red bumpy diaper rash (kind of like your guy's maybe). If that were the case many docs don't go for the pass it back and forth issue and never treat the man. I've personally experienced it, as well as others here, it can happen. I would think they would have diagnosed it easily but maybe not.
