Can you take meloxicam and later a couple of Advil? I was prescribed meloxicam for my arthritis and it does not always help me..

I also take meloxicam, and tylenol is about the only thing that I know of that can be taken in conjunction with it. You still need to be careful not to take more than the prescribed dosages, though. I believe there were studies done recently that showed too many people take over the counter tylenol, believing it's safe - too much of it is hard on the liver. Most people really only need one regular strength tylenol, not two extra strength. Anyway, that got a little off topic.

do not take over 15mg of meloxicam daily and do not take other nsaids with it at all....if you must take another pain med then take tylenol....this what my doctor told me....and eat something before you take it also....

Ime really worried about taking these etoricoxib even tho i was assured by the receptionist that they are not in the same family as celebrex and meloxicam..I really do believe that the celbrex caused you to have the bowel obstructions as with me it caused me to lose the lining of my stomach and also a huge flare up of ulcerative colitis which as soon as my own doctor the visited me i was rushed in and he told me i should never even of been given them..Anyway just be careful what you take.

Great information. I've done the OTC meds and that's what took me to Mobic/Meloxicam. My doctor did the preauthorization and that's what was denied. I don't even know if Celebrex is going to bet miracle. I will go to their website and see if I can get some discount coupons. Just for general information to anyone that cares..... I have seen a top gastroantonologist (spelling) who killed the myth about Tylenol and liver function.

I have been on Meloxicam for about 4 months and have gained 20 pounds and i feel swollen. I am also on highblood pressure meds. I just quit taking the Meloxicam. Does anyone know if the weight goes away? How long does it take for bloated feeling to go away?

I take this with my meloxicam, some ibuprofen, and about 4-6 500mg Tylenol in a the whole day, this has become extremely effective in providing a great deal of pain relief. I take lisinopril myself for HBP and have done so for decades. I've never used naproxen except maybe once or twice. One Rx that might possibly be of benefit for arthritis instead of naproxen is meloxicam, also known as Mobic. I use it occasionally with no ill effects to report.

My doctor has me on 600 mg of gemfibozil once a day before meals and simistation 40 mgs once a day. I have high cholestrol and very high trycliderides. I had a heart attack 10 years ago, Now my question is i read on the net these two meds should not be taken together. Can i get your advice on this please.

Starting this new anti-inflammation med and I read it could cause weight gain and swelling.....anyone have this as a symptom? How well does it work? Have a lot of pain from herniated discs in my neck and back.

they are a very good med this is what i take now if i ever have back pain and yes it is an anti inflam but it is stronger than naproxen or ibprofen this is the med that helped my pain while i was in withdrawals and now that i am clean i no longer have pain because most of my left over back pain from surgery was my brain making me hurt so i would use med so now if i ever do have pain i take a mobic(thats the brand name for meloxicam) and about 20 minutes later i no longer hurt and it is not addic

The really bad stuff are the nsaids and Tylenol, I would surely check with your Drs. make sure you tell them every blessed med that goes in your system.

I got x-rays and was diagnosed with degenerative arthritis in my big toe joint and on 9-18-13 I started taking Meloxicam (Mobic). The 1st two nights of taking Meloxicam I felt achey at night and had a fever of about 100- 101. That went away for a while, but then started happening again now every night from about 10-1-13 to now 10-11-13. I get a slight fever at night (100-101) and sweat bad all night long. Bad enough to where the sheets are wet. I usually lose about 3 - 3 1/2 lbs.

I have had both 800mg IB. And 800mg Meloxicam and one thing I know being on numerious medications for the past 10 years due to bad car accidents, is that your body will build a tolerance to all medications I'm no Dr but my best advice is to consult your Dr about alternating between both so that way your body doesn't build a high tolerance and they stop working altogether.

He ordered an xray of my right rib cage and prescribed me Meloxicam 15 mg. The Meloxicam has helped some... meaning I am able to get up and walk around with constant dull to medium pain in the same place, and sharp pain returns regularly but not constantly. Has anyone heard of Meloxicam helping with w/d from opiates, such lortabs? I went to the doctor for some issues that I had been having and decided to reach out to my doctor for help getting off these bad boys. He perscribed Meloxicam to help with some the withdrawal symptons. I have to say this stuff, which is just an anit inflammatory will helps with the symptons. I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!

I thought it was the start of some horrible disease until I thought to look up the side effects of meloxicam. I quit meloxicam and started feeling better after a couple of days (it take a few days to get out of your system because it has a relatively long half-life). After about 2 weeks I'm pretty much back to normal. I hope y'all eventually recovered as well - that was scary!

Hi, I was on Lexapro 10mg for about 3 weeks and my doctor up my dose to 20mg. The last 2 days, I've had a headache off and on. I had a headache off and on for the first week when I took the 10mg and then it went away. I know headache is a common side effect but was wondering what I could take for it? I read that ibuprofen and asprin can cause interactions. Are the interactions for people that take a lot or what? Thanks for the help.
