1305767 tn?1361192676 Is it safe to take ibuprofen in the same day as Meloxicam? I take 15 mg of the Meloxicam in the morning for pain but need additional pain relief later in the day and I know that both drugs are NSAID so I don't want to accidentally overdose.
Avatar n tn I also have high blood pressure and take Ibuprofen (which is like meloxicam as its an NSAID), I was told to drink MORE water so that the Ibuprofen doesn't make the blood pressure worse. Its some sort of chemical thing, a pharmacist told me once. Ever since then, my blood pressure has been so much better. Good luck to you.
Avatar m tn Can you take meloxicam and later a couple of Advil? I was prescribed meloxicam for my arthritis and it does not always help me..
Avatar m tn I have had both 800mg IB. And 800mg Meloxicam and one thing I know being on numerious medications for the past 10 years due to bad car accidents, is that your body will build a tolerance to all medications I'm no Dr but my best advice is to consult your Dr about alternating between both so that way your body doesn't build a high tolerance and they stop working altogether.
Avatar n tn I was prescribe Meloxicam and tynolol with codiene,is this a good combination for severe arthritis?
Avatar m tn Hello Flowr, I understand your hesitancy to take Meloxicam. Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic and fever reducer effects. It's often used in Arthritic and inflammatory conditions. However any NSAID comes with concerns - including OTC NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen. Several years ago Glucosamine & Chondroitin was popular with medical providers. It was hailed as the new and one of the best "treatments" for restoring cartilage and reducing pain.
Avatar f tn Has anyone heard of Meloxicam helping with w/d from opiates, such lortabs? I went to the doctor for some issues that I had been having and decided to reach out to my doctor for help getting off these bad boys. He perscribed Meloxicam to help with some the withdrawal symptons. I have to say this stuff, which is just an anit inflammatory will helps with the symptons. It eleminates the hot, flush feeling which is most annoying. It really does help.
175688 tn?1297556647 they are a very good med this is what i take now if i ever have back pain and yes it is an anti inflam but it is stronger than naproxen or ibprofen this is the med that helped my pain while i was in withdrawals and now that i am clean i no longer have pain because most of my left over back pain from surgery was my brain making me hurt so i would use med so now if i ever do have pain i take a mobic(thats the brand name for meloxicam) and about 20 minutes later i no longer hurt and it is not addic
Avatar m tn Great information. I've done the OTC meds and that's what took me to Mobic/Meloxicam. My doctor did the preauthorization and that's what was denied. I don't even know if Celebrex is going to bet miracle. I will go to their website and see if I can get some discount coupons. Just for general information to anyone that cares..... I have seen a top gastroantonologist (spelling) who killed the myth about Tylenol and liver function.
534785 tn?1329592208 She said I could occasionally take ibuprofen along with Meloxicam if I really felt the need to. I do have some heating pads, so I'll try those as well. Thanks again, everyone!
513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!
Avatar m tn m a 28 year old male, and I have a question about NSAIDs for chronic pain. I use ibuprofen daily most of the time for a torn meniscus in my left knee that I had surgery on and I have arthritis too. I also take it for a herniated disc (L-5) and ankle pain. I have acid reflux disease and esophagus problems as well. Is it safe to take all this Ibuprofen with the stomach problems I have, or should I talk to my Dr. about possibly prescribing another medication?
175688 tn?1297556647 Meloxicam is just an NSAID like Ibuprofen or Celebrex. It might help with some aches and pains. The Elavil might help with the depression aspect, but it would take several weeks to kick in. I wouldn't expect much help from either.
Avatar f tn I have been suffering with restless legs, headaches predominantly in my forehead and eyes for about 3 and a half months, everyday, I also have had pains and tingling in my legs and arms with burning sensations, dizziness, like a spining in my body and often lose balance and stumble, memory loss and a mental fogginess. At one stage my legs stopped working properly for a couple of days.
Avatar m tn Hi Abritt, I think it is great to share solutions that work for us. I will research Meloxicam, I do know that Ibuprofen does not work for me even at 800 MG. Also, I have a bad stomach so my doctor wants be to stay off of Ibuprofen. What dose of Lyrica did you try?
Avatar m tn Found out the Meloxicam and Vicodin didn't agree well with my body together. The Dr. took me off Meloxicam and put me on a steroid (Prednisone). Its only been a couple of days but I already feel better and the night fevers and crazy night sweats are pretty much gone.
Avatar f tn I take lisinopril myself for HBP and have done so for decades. I've never used naproxen except maybe once or twice. One Rx that might possibly be of benefit for arthritis instead of naproxen is meloxicam, also known as Mobic. I use it occasionally with no ill effects to report.
Avatar m tn I got on suboxone in February with the expectation that it would help me stay clean by reducing cravings and that general opiate malaise, I'm sure we're all so fond of. I'll put it like this a literally hate taking my subs i always wait until I'm good and sick to dose, just because sub makes me feel so cappy now. Well that waiting opens up other windows, and I've fallen off the wagon a few times in the last 2 months.
Avatar n tn Is it possible that Meloxicam could have eased my depression? I was on Meloxicam for a couple of weeks (for back pain) and noticed a huge improvement in my mood. Was this just a coincidence?
1930941 tn?1400107522 My doctor started me on Meloxicam to help remove the swelling in my joints and help with the pain. She knows full well my hx... and I know that Meloxicam is not a narcotic. Does anyone have any thoughts? This really *****..... Thanks!!
1386405 tn?1291587800 hi this i defo something no about with my last pregnancy i had severe headaches and i was taking ibuprofen i was taken them all the time but i finally went to the doctors because the pain wouldn't settle and the doctor said DO NOT take ibuprofen just take cocodomal i think thats how you spell it lol.
1021831 tn?1331605848 I take this with my meloxicam, some ibuprofen, and about 4-6 500mg Tylenol in a the whole day, this has become extremely effective in providing a great deal of pain relief. Hope this information is at all helpful. Had a broken tailbone, at 19 fell 20 ft off a mountain, got hit by a car at 12. I have horrible osteoarthritis along with mild scoliosis, and horrible nerve pain.
Avatar f tn My neurologist did not tell me what medications of the 9 he just prescribed for me that I could take together and that I couldn't take together. I took Meloxicam this morning for my "mild" headache, but over the course of the day my headache has gotten severly worse. I took what my notes said to do for my "migraines" and took Cambia...I just researched that these two things are not supposed to be taken together...am I in big trouble?
1315448 tn?1274018979 Has anyone been to a pain management clinic? My doctor doesn't want me on narcotics long term (and neither do I!) so he's referred me to pain management. I have no idea what to expect. I've taken (without help) gabapentin, meloxicam, ibuprofen, tramadol, lortab (5, 7.5, & 10) and can't take excedrin and tylenol has never worked. I've also had 8 weeks of physical therapy and the chiropractor (not simultaneously) with no relief.
