Look into (ask) about Megace ES (http://www.megacees.com/megace-es.html) it's supposedly a better version of the original Megace with less dosage needed, etc.
I have had a weight loss in the last year and a half, and recently, after much testing to make sure there was nothing else wrong, was put on megace. I went on line to look into megace and there was some mention of progesterone. I have only taken the 1tsp. dose for two days now. I was planning to call my gyn. dr. tomorrow regarding this matter. Do I have reason to not take megace?
Is there progesterone in it? Could it trigger another cancer problem.

The "alternative" is just dronabinol, the generic name of marinol. Marinol is synthetic THC, an oil/liquid at room temp, but provided as gel tabs which must be kept refrigerated. Marinol is NOT the CBD discussed on TV for kids.
She has had anemia which she is now requiring procrit injections. She had a false pregnancy after the surgery and was on megace for a week. She ate and drank good while on the megace. Since she has been on Procrit and also a oral vitamin she hasnt been eating as well. I guess my question is are dogs able to recover from this stuff. She had elevated alk phos and after three more days of IV fluids at a higher rate her creatinine and alk phos came down a couple of points.
I want and need to stop smoking pot but want to avoid the w/d's, need to work etc. It's my understanding Marinol can ease the symptoms considerably. Anyone know how to get it? I tried going to the Dr but he would not prescribe it off-label. Any suggestions?
I took 1 2.5 mg Marinol cap about 2 weeks ago. I don't do drugs. The pill was taken by mistake.

I've read about some people diagnosed with ADD taking marinol as a form of medication. I was wondering what effects it would have when taken with adderall, or as a replacement for other meds. What sort of side effects, and/or lack of side effects to make other meds more effective.
Is it of your opinion that Marinol can be an alternative drug to treat Multiple Sclerosis? I cannot handle shots, and I know there are many side effects from the shots.
My dad takes oxycodone 15mg/ oxycontin 20mg/ marinol 2.5mg/ and ibuprofen 220mg Marinol is synthetic marijuana and it is doing wonders for his back pain. But if this is the case then shouldn't he theoretically be able to go off of the oxy's? I am so confused. Doctors don't tell me about liver or kidney protection and that is one of my first concerns.

He has finished his 1st line chemo in March at that time the cancer was responded very well with the chemo but it was relapse and his CEA up again. His appetite is very good we give him vitamin and megace for his appetite (prescriptions only). You may ask your Dr about Megace to increase appetite. I hope this help. Cheers!
I have liver cirrhosis and when I became ill, my doctor prescribed Marinol for weight gain. I had lost 85 lbs and gained 30 pounds with this treatment. My doctor discontinued the Marinol and my weight decreased. I am 6'2" tall and am considering smoking marijuana to achieve the weight gain I am comfortable with. Will this method injure my liver further or have no real effects to it?
