What does mint have to do with Globus? Any help with what you found benefical would be appreciated. Thank you Re: Lump in Throat / Globus Hystericus From pennythomas [Log on to view profile] on 2005-05-17 Hello Lovingkindness, I used Ignatia 30c, not 6c in the end.
At the worst times it feels like there is a lump in my throat and pressure in my chest and I also get really painful hiccups sometimes, just one or two at a time. Another Dr. said it was just stress and honestly I think he thought I was making it up because it wasnt happening while I was in his office which wasnt helpful! The one time I want the gurgles... If anyone knows of anythign that actually works I would love to hear it!
Some people experience allergy/sinus symptoms in different ways, my congestion happens in the throat, others in the nasal passage and others have watery eyes, needless to say, he prescibed FluNase or FluNose, with Zytec. This really worked for me althugh I used it just during the allergy season, when I experienced the congestion.
So it's possible the food particles are becoming lodged in the thick mucous lining my throat, but I am really concerned that some type of pocket may have formed in my throat just below my tongue that is catching the food particles and along with mucous, saliva and bacteria is now forming tonsil stones, since I have discovered pin-head sized tonsil stones in the mucous before when I pushed it up out my throat.
3) Is there any chance some type of food allergies could be causing an excess mucous build up in my throat (or Larynx area)?

hsv in the ear i know it sounds crazy but i used to get dry itching ears otitis externa then i got otitis media middle ear infection, about 2 yrs ago i was diagnosed with having hsv2 and i belive i cross infected this virus into my ear, as i used to dampen cotton buds with saliva and place in my ear to take itching away.
I have a continuous problem with thick mucous in my throat. I must clear my throat a hundred times a day. My larnyx gets so full of the thick mucous that I almost choke and it causes my eyes to water. When this happens I hack up about a quarter cup of the stuff. I went to an ENT specialist who diagnosed sinusitis due to restricted airflow because of a deviated septum. After two surgeries for this there is no improvment. I've tried Musinex and steroid nose sprays. Nothing seems to help.
couple days i got bad lump in my throat had trouble swallowing , also had bad burning sensation in my chest and in my mouth which must of been the acid coming up from stomach ..
I don't have any symptoms yet, except for my period being early once in a while. I am 44 years old, and have gone, in 2 weeks, from having 44 year old skin to skin of a 60 year old. Could someone please help? I'm very distressed.

About 4 weeks ago I started feeling like I had a lump in my throat, kind of like a pill got stuck. No difficulty swallowing or breathing, really just a minor annoyance. Then I started getting heartburn occasionally and seemed to be burping more frequently. In the last week, the heartburn has progressed to nearly constant, I burp often, I seem to have excess salivia in my mouth (I noticed because spit seems to fly out of my mouth when speaking sometimes.

I have too have a feeling of having a lump in my throat, and it takes a while going down. I get nervous about being able to breath, which probably makes it worse. I had an endoscopy this morning, and everything was "fine". Well, I still feel a lump after I eat, a swelling in the back of my mouth, almost in my sinuses, feeling like drainage. I am having a difficult time getting the help I need. It's tough, because people think because you look ok, there is nothing wrong.
My thyroid feels sore and hard and also I can feel something that seems to be on the inside of my thyroid in my throat. Sometimes this feels like a small lump and it can often feel like it is on open burning ulcer type thing. Again this comes and goes. I have had tests for mono, ross river, toxo, and I think about 2 months ago a thyroid test but I dont know what type of test it was, anyhow apparantly it didnt show anything.
When eating the sponge i have to swallow with the amount of energy it takes to swallow a large tablet. My saliva is very thick all the time and i have the feeling of a lump in my throat. I have mucous in my stool. They have carried out an endoscopy and a barium swallow, they were normal. My doctor gave me omeprazole, he said it was just in case a little bit of acid comes up at night but it didn't help.
Thanks for commenting. I am planning on seeing a GI because of all my digestive problems but I won't be able to get in till October. I am trying to figure out what I can and can't eat. It's frustrating because some things I can tell but some things I still can't tell and even certain healthy foods like salad bother me. I don't feel like I can eat anything anymore that agrees with me! I do get heartburn real bad any more.
In end March he was happy with the results, but, even prior to the tests I was starting to feel hypo and it continued, until, prior to the increase (and ongoing), I've got that lump in my throat again, struggling sinuses (taking betcourt to keep that at bey, excess saliva, flatulence and trouble sleeping at night, dry skin and hair falling out prior to my latest meds - I'm now having some better days after 2 weeks but then feel like cr**p again .
VCD/Vocal Cord Dysfunction/Laryngospasm attacks, cough, voice problems, asthma, globus (feeling of lump in throat), constant need to clear throat, worsening of sinus condition, sore throat, pre-cancerous conditions of throat &/or esophagus, etc. SOME GER/LPR CONTROL THINGS WE DO, that we learned from the excellent book: STOMACH AILMENTS AND DIGESTIVE DISTURBANCES, by Michael T. Murray, N.D. See page 9, References, in my website: http://cantbreathesuspectvcd.
It would start at night with the feeling of the lump in my throat, then the chest pain would happen. Then my esophagus would start to constrict near where it connects to my stomache and I would hardly be able to swallow or get water down. -The esophagus/throat issue was so bad that it would keep me up for the entire night until about 10 or 11 am the next morning. I would produce so much saliva that I couldn't sleep, I had to be near a garbage pale to spit out the saliva.
Yup, I've got them too. My dentist had no idea what it was but I am really pleased after reading all of these posts. Mine seem to pop up most when I eat something cold. Small, painless blisters in the back of my mouth. I pop them and then everything is fine.
I also told her that where I am constantly burping all of the time, it has made it feel like I have a lump in the back of my throat, she said that is caused by stress (I have been stressing over it BIGTIME and been crying almost every day cos it's so so uncomfortable and ruining my lifestyle), and she said the acid also causes it as it aggrevates my throat. Please can someone who has these symptoms talk to me! And tell me if all this constant belching is normal.
In this case, you will have drainage into your throat, called post-nasal drip, and your throat often have too much mucus in it, which can cause a mild sore throat or cough on a chronic basis. 9. WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS? The main symptom of sinusitis is pain. Pain in your face, pain in your head.
We checked and there was nothing that we could see, but she was constantly licking her lips/paws/floor, swallowing hard (u could feel it in her stomach) and her throat seems to almost have a swollen lump in it....it probably lasted 10 minutes, after she had a drink of water everything was fine.
(this could be the result of excess callogen in the skin - a strong feature, and mechanism of destruction in scleroderma) If you test positive for ANA, your doctor will test for other auto-antibodies to specifically diagnose a disease, or rule out other auto-immune diseases non-specifically. I'm sure you've talked to alot of competent physicians, but the fact remains that very few medical professionals have even heard of scleroderma (it is a rare disease).
If my T3 is low then should I be taking more med or am I ok where I am at? I have the lump in my throat feeling all the time. That is a hypo symptom right? Where do I want my T4 and T3 levels to be?
Everyday I have these episodes where I suddenly feel like I can't breathe, and I feel like passing out, I can't swallow either because my mouth and throat have suddenly gone completely dry. I get sharp pains in my spine and tingling in my scalp and face when this occurs also. Sometimes I get numbness in my lungs when this happens. Does this happen with Sjogren's or is this something else entirely? Also, when this occurs I tend to have to urinate as well.
For as long as I can remember I've gotten phlegm stuck in my throat and have to spit it out... and the more stuff in my throat, the less likely I am to be able to burp as well. Hope this is something that can be helpful. I'd like to know if it is. Keep me posted.
It feels like a flea suddenly bites one (or the other) side of my throat or maybe vocal cords or sometimes I think it feels like a big hive in my throat because it feels like a lump comes up. A throat specialist went down with a scope and said everything was normal. My doctor diagnosed allergy or sinus problems, and possible asthma, and put me on antihistamines and an asthma inhaler. None of it worked. Then she put me on Claritin D and it seemed to work for at least a year.
