Avatar f tn Sent by Vikki111 I have an excess saliva problem and it's upsetting to me as I see everyone wiping off their face when I talk to them. Its so embarrassing. I have had this problem for the last 10 years. please help. I do have type 2 diabetes and b vitamin deficiencies. I also have hypothyroidism (hashimotos). I take synthroid 100mg since 1995, Victoza injection, januvia, and hazaar and b12 2000 mg sublingual, b9, and biotin for the last year.
Avatar f tn I also feel like my gums are grimy and it feels as if something is stuck in my throat. I went to the doctor who said I had a sore throat and prescribed z-pac which did NOT take care of the problem so I went to the dentist, who referred me to a periodontist. Sometimes this problem leads me to have excruciating earaches.
Avatar m tn Has any one ever come accross a posting on Excess Salivia I have been experiencing excess salivia in my mouth, (having to clear my throat every 5 minutes) along with my neck pain (which is now becoming a throat pain). (I am at Week 10 post a low risk exposure) I have come accross a medical posting that stating this could be caused by HIV infection. Could someone please inform me if they have heard or experienced this? Plus whether if within the ARS period or well pass this period?
Avatar f tn Lump in throat. Sometimes I as well get the feeling of a necklace around my throat, on a few occassions it turned out to be (even though I have other GI problems) stress or what is soetimes called hysterical throat.
Avatar n tn The lump in the throat feeling is one of the symptoms of acid reflux though no lump is actually found in the throat. since you have difficult in swallowing, I would suggest that you undergo upper GI endoscopy to rule out any organic cause of difficulty in swallowing.
2129211 tn?1335549120 So if it is affected, then it can be involved in GERD. Excess saliva and bad taste in mouth are some of the signs of dysphagia, which is difficulty swallowing. But there are types (oral, pharyngeal and esophageal).
Avatar f tn For about 4 years now, I've had this weird lump in my throat. It's not there all the time but I notice it mostly at night. It feels like I have to keep swallowing my saliva. It keeps me awake and I'm really worried that I have cancer in my esophagus. I rarely get heart burn and it's the only symptom that I have. Is it possible that I have Barrett's esophagus?
Avatar n tn If you are having problems with acid reflux, the sensation could be globus. It's a 'feeling' of something in the throat - like a lump. If this is the reason, you need to work with your doc to try to bring the reflux under control.
Avatar f tn Sounds like you may have either acid reflux and/or post nasal drip. Try a sinus rinse and/or a decongestant first. Avoid milk products as they thicken the saliva. As we're on the subject of milk...it's quite possible that you are lactose intolerant...which will cause this to happen.
Avatar m tn Over the last week I have had a feeling of a lump in my throat on the left side in the back above my Addams apple and just below my jaw. There appears to be ever so slight swelling on the left side... But my lymph nodes don't feel swollen anywhere else and the appears to a slight bulge in the area of concern on my neck. It doesn't hurt to swallow. I don't have a fever or sore throat, or changes in weight or appetite. I just have this lump feeling. I am otherwise in good health.
Avatar f tn My wife has been suffering with excess saliva for 3 years and needs help. Her symptoms are: around 10am each day excess salvia begins - just pooring out - which she is required to swallow continuously. Around 2-3pm she begins to become nausious. Gets so bad she has to go to bed and drug herself to sleep around 7 or 8 pm. Upon waking she is fine. Next day starts all over again.
Avatar m tn ) Since that, I find that eating highly acidic foods and mint irritate my teeth, and possibly this restarts the excess saliva. Otherwise it does not seem related to my diet, which has not changed in years. My dentist and doctor had no answers (and it had stopped when I saw them). I have two questions: Does anyone know what might cause this? More importantly, when it happens, WHAT CAN I DO to stop it?!
Avatar n tn I have been having a lump in my throat for several months. After thinking I was getting food caught in my throat and even getting an endoscopy I've begun to think it may be food allergies. I do not find it hard to breath though. Can a food allergy symptom be a lump in the throat or chest without feeling hard to breath? I usually feel this just after eating and I feel very nauseous some of the time. I have a bit of a feeling of pins and needles in my throat sometimes.
Avatar n tn Can you please help in regards of constant mucous in my throat it feels like i have a lump that i need to spit out all the time also i am continually clearing coughing to clear this is so annoying and that i am always trying swallow and then it is back with in seconds if you could help it would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn Hello, I would be very grateful for your advice. For over a year. ~ Constant congestion in nose, ears, and throat. ~ The mucous is typically clear. ~ There is not that much discharge from my nose, more if it goes to my throat and ears.
Avatar m tn I had to control or eliminate anything that had yeast out of my diet such as bread, crackers and anything made with flour and yeast for 2 months. My sinuses and post nasal drip cleared and my throat was clear of that lump in my throat feeling I've had for a long time. I tested the diet and one day I ate some regular bread and crackers.
Avatar n tn For a two years I've had this charlie hoarse and lump feeling on and off in my throat. Lump much more often. I don't know if the two are related but I'm having a charlie hoarse right now. I find that forcing myself to "burp" significantly minimizes or entirely relieves the charlie hoarse (though I still feel the small lump when I swallow). Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn It felt like post nasal drip. Then the opposite happened. Hyposalivation. This occurred for a week. I felt like I had a lump in my throat and my mouth was dry. I sucked on a lemon for days and it cleared. Then the dry mouth and sticky saliva came back. It has not left since 2 months ago. I no longer get the lump. I sometimes get the mucus I cough up. My doctor changed my Anti depressants (was on for 5 years few problems) and I take lamoprozole.
Avatar f tn I have this weird feeling in my throat. When I swallow my saliva hard, I feel like a lump. But there is nothing around my neck when I touch it. I gargle here and that and it gets better but then comes back again. I also been getting wisdom tooth for years, and it never comes out fully. Always stuck in between and I do get some pain cause of that. I been having sore throat and some dry cough. So I was wondering if all these symptoms are of covid 19 or could it be anything else.
Avatar f tn I am worried about my throat which I feel like there’s a lump in it. I felt a pin-pricked on my throat thrice, and I feel like it is closing. I sometimes have a cough and I feel like there’s some mucus in my throat. Burping makes me feel better and takes away my heartburn. Help me, what should I do? I easily get upset and I have some panic attacks. I always feel tired and stressed. My EKG tells that I have sinus arrhythmia, is it because of gerd? What meds are safe for me? thank you so much.
Avatar m tn I have a problem recently with excess saliva and swallowing. I feel like I have to swallow often almost nonstop. This problem sometimes doesn`t bother me as much when lying down. I went to throat doctor with no problems. Also I had an endoscope 2 weeks ago and was diagnosed with mild "GERD." Would this cause this problem?? I also have moderate Ulcerative Colitis(don`t think it`s related) I`m taking Asacol and it`s not too bad now.
