2009161 tn?1327915695 I was worried so went to a doctor, the doctor checked my BP was 170/100, which was high as per the doctor, since then I am having LOSARTAN POTASIUM tablets of 50 mg every day prescribed by him, but still at times my BP in the evenings when I check is 150/100. Do I need to increase my dossage or continue with some physical excercises to reduce my BP, when ever I did some meditation for 10 mins, I checked with my electronic BP monitor it reduces compared to previous reading though.
Avatar m tn I was on losartan for a few months. I don't think that my bp was consistenlty high. I think what was going on was that it was very up and down and it was making me feel pretty bad. But losartan which is a third line for bp was the first thing that they put me on. And I don't think my bp was that bad. I have had elevated renin/aldosterone studies and low potassium in the past.
Avatar m tn But I am an anxious person and was prescribed beta blocker(Metoprolol ER 50mg and Amlong which was changed to 25mg metoprolol ER and Losartan 25mg after 4 years). Yes I dont have any heart problems and nothing in my family and also not diabetic. My age is 40. Still taking metoprolol only and will go for a review soon and would sort things out. I am happy with metoprolol 50mg ER to Bisoprolol 5mg...
Avatar n tn etc) is taking Fluvoxamine 50mg OD since last ONE YEAR.Doctor did not reccommend an effective CBT.He is still NOT FREE from the symptoms.Fearing a health hazard for long term medication of Fluvoxamine, he wanted to discontinue it gradually without consulting the doctor.reduced the dose (25 mg a day) for a month and then 25 mg in alternative day.He can not stop it now, as the withdrawal is causing DIZINESS. What is the duration of this medication ?
Avatar f tn You are correct, Losartan is usually prescribed at 25-50mg daily as a starting point, the MAX is 100mg. If your Doctor wanted you to have the maximum, perhaps 2x50mg would have been easier on you, by dividing it through the day. This medication can promote too much potassium in the body, which in turn can cause serious arrhythmia. You are also right to question coming off your beta blocker abruptly, Metoprolol, because many people have to start taking them again and be weaned off.
2009161 tn?1327915695 Doctor asked me to have Losartan Potasium Tablets. But after 1 year though the BP came down as low as 130/90, then some times it used to be 150/90. Then I visited to a Doctor who asked me to have Olmisartan Mdeoxomil 20 MG every day. I am having. Now my BP came down 10 125-135/80-90 but still it increases to 140 at times. Is this a right prescription of the Doctor of having Olmisartan Medoxomil?

Last May all my bloodwork was normal range. On the 5th of Oct had a brain and spine MRI with contrast they did a quick kidney test and my creatinine was high @ 1.6 Last May it was 1.17 normal. What is frightening me is the 50 eGFR.
Avatar m tn Blood pressure is 180 mmHg (high pressure) / 100 mmHg(low pressure). The doctor gave Losartan Potassium and Hydrochlorothiazide Tablets. The blood pressure is then controlled to 107~135 mmHg(high pressure) / 65~80 mmHg(low pressure). In 2015: My mother suddenly felt dizzy and she was found that her blood pressure jumped to 80~90 mmHg(high pressure) / 50 mmHg(low pressure). Then the doctor asked her to stop taking any blood pressure control medicine. Her heart is examined OK.
Avatar m tn I was on Losartan 50mg which was working fairly well then the nephrologist suggested I switch to Amlodipine 2.5 mg. which he says is better for creatinine levels. I had been taking Amlodipine for a few weeks and BP rose. Doctor has increased to 5 mg. Not sure how long it will take to reduce BP. Has anyone any experience with Amlodipine? How is it? Any adverse side effects?
Avatar f tn I have looked at different types and am a bit confused as to what is the difference between clomiphene citrate (brand) and clomid(generic)/ ovinum. The price for 30 50mg clomiphene citrate tablets is £151 but for the generic version for 30 50mg tablets its only £60. Does one work better than the other? please help am really desperate now!
Avatar m tn I have been experiencing a low heart rate for as long as I can remember recording it. It falls in the lines of 40s-60s resting usually below 60's. i have been experiencing frequent heart palpitations(skipping beats) when in resting and working out sometime. Should I be concerned? Will I have to have a pacemaker? I do get dizzy sometimes, I also have hypertension my Bp runs in the 140's consistently, diastolic usually normal 70-80 usually.
Avatar m tn Hey everyone thanks in advance for those of you that are reading this it Is greatly appreciated of any feed back. First of I'm 22 years of age, male about 6'2 kinda muscular 228 pounds, and pretty active. I've been diagnosed with hypertension and was put on losartan 50mg/hctz 12.5mg by my cardiologist when my blood pressure was running about 150-160/80-90 consistantly about 2 months ago.
Avatar f tn Hi there. I'm a 24 yr female recently diagnosed as hypertensive with an average BP of 145/100. I was prescribed several drugs at first that all caused intolerable side effects (Lisinopril Carveidlol Chlorthiadone). Now I'm on 50mg Losartan no side effects that I can tell. Keeps my blood pressure in a very safe level. I am on a strict diet and exercise daily. My exercises are mainly low impact - stretching, crunches, aerobics, power walks. Yesterday I decided to hop on an exercise bike.
Avatar n tn I do eat pretty clean on occasion will eat fast food on vacation. etc. Is there a counter active process of which my losartan (50mg) and amlodipine (10mg) are working against the natural supplements? I have stopped my meds and taken only bp supplements but bp is still elevated. I do take on a daily basis D3,zinc,quercetin,a multi vitamin, turmeric,a small drop of iodine, nitric oxide several times a week before a work out and a probiotic digestive pill.
Avatar m tn I do realize I could take 3 50mg tablets in the am, and 2 50mg tablets in the pm. This seems too be too many pills and too easy to get confused.
1035021 tn?1296820707 Hi people, I have anxiety disorder and hypertension, this both diagnosed and treated. I have some control now with my panic attacks and extreme anxiety, but the problem is not that, I just tell you that just for you to know some priors, 3 days ago I started to experience some kind of numbness in my right hand fingers (the first 3 starting from the right).
Avatar m tn ve been to a cardiologist and in currently on 50mg losartan Bp is going down some on the 4th day.
Avatar m tn I had high blood pressure years ago, and after taking one or two medications with little success, I was given 25mg of Atenolol, which worked extremely well. Since then, the dose has been increased to 50mg, and that has done the trick--kept my blood pressure under 140/90. Recently though, I've been having an issue controlling my blood pressure. I felt really crappy a few months ago, and when I came home from a hike, my blood pressure was around 160/100.
Avatar f tn Hallo there -anyone and everyone. Is there any reasons to prefer or take losartan above olmesartan or the olmesartan above losartan. Person taking these is african, 57 years, female and oh, my mother.
