Hello, My name is Anatoly Petrov and I have I had a heart attack on 09/21/09. After my bare metal stents were clogged and I almost got another heart attack, a DES was placed inside those two. Since then I have been having chest pains. I am currently on Plavix, Aspirin, Simvastatin, Lisinopril and Carvedilol/Coreg/. Stopped Lisinopril for a little bit and felt much better- unfortunately my blood pressure went a little up.

t had any other problems with Lisinopril besides the cough and I am scared to change meds and take the chance of worse side effects. I am just wondering if anybody has any thoughts on Lisinopril vs Losartan to help me decide if I should change meds. Thanks!!!

I would wonder if the sound issue is not related to a bit of anxiety. As for the losartan and carvedilol, dizziness and fatigue are two common side effects of the medications. These side effects are often related to either low blood pressures or low heart rate but can often be relieved through adjustments in the dose and timing of the medications. I would check and keep note of your blood pressure and heart rate frequently (and not if you are having any of the symptoms) using a home blood pressure monitoring kit that you can get at your local pharmacy.

Hello, I African American male in my 40's that have been dealing with my blood pressure running 140/ 90 for a while my doctor put me on Losartan HCTZ 50- 12.5 and my pressure. After my 6 months check up my pressure was still the same so he increased my Losartan to 100-12.5 and a few weeks after I would get readings of 130 /80 sometimes and others I would get 129/78.

I have been using Lisinopril for high blood pressure for the past 25 years or so with little to no side effects. Started out at 40mg 1X day and have been able to reduce that since to 20 mg primarily through weight loss. I had borderline high BP since I was in my late teens so some (but certainly not all) of mine may have been due to genetics.

As with just about all medications, there are side effects. Losartan has its share as well. I feel if you're going to try this as a Fibrosis reversal opportunistic treatment, you should evaluate the side effects and certainly ask your doctor's opinion. Before the Losartan, I was taking 90 mgs of Armour (which is T3 AND T4) daily. After just a few weeks on the Losartan, I became hyperthyroid for a while, and my doctor lowered my dose of Armour (down to 60.) I have not noticed heat intolerance, but I am losing weight--slowly (which I don't mind as I am about 20 lbs over bikini-wearing level.) My 93 y/o Mom just had a stress test and echo. They show a 52% LVEF but a small infarct area at the bottom of the heart. She has no obvious symptoms but her cardiologist has put her on a new regimen of 4 meds (statin, Plavix, losartan, metoprolol)... which she finds terribly overwhelming. My question is ... why both losartan (an Angiotensin II) and metoprolol (a beta blocker)? Don't they both do the same thing by lowering blood pressure and opening up the coronary arteries?

How long have you been on Losartan? 100 mg is a large dosage and it, too, can cause dizziness and tiredness... I was on only 25 mg for some time and I had some of those symptoms, plus weight gain/inability to lose, symptoms of a cold, etc... I no longer take it and no longer have those symptoms. It can also react with some of the other medications...

also take other supplements like co-q 10, b complex. I read about many side effects tfor this drug and I just do not feel safe on it, cannot take ace inhibitors, had allergic reaction, any feedback on this?

However, just last year, my PCP suggested I try a newer one, Bystolic, at a low dose of 5 mg, and to my amazement, it is quite effective, but has almost no side effects for me (well, maybe just a hint of asthma), and I actually feel well on it! Rampril is an ACE inhibitor and this class of drugs has a good reputation. I would prefer Losartan, which seems to have a superior action with few side effects. The dose of Ramipril is half of what can be prescribed daily (20 mg). It is NOT o.k. to take more propanalol. I would discuss with your physician the idea of eliminating both drugs and going to simply Losartan.

I agree with you, I was put on losartan and didn't have high blood pressure and felt faint, tired, dizzy. my head went numb in the back and I started to feel faint on 25-50mg a day. maybe it's better to not take it. what happens in hypotension is that the oxygen flow to the heart and brain is actually reduced so you become faint which is terrible because then your cells start to die.

Hi there. I'm a 24 yr female recently diagnosed as hypertensive with an average BP of 145/100. I was prescribed several drugs at first that all caused intolerable side effects (Lisinopril Carveidlol Chlorthiadone). Now I'm on 50mg Losartan no side effects that I can tell. Keeps my blood pressure in a very safe level. I am on a strict diet and exercise daily. My exercises are mainly low impact - stretching, crunches, aerobics, power walks. Yesterday I decided to hop on an exercise bike.

My biggest trouble is my doctor is doubting that the medicines have side effects. He says at this age the side effects wouldnt happen, is this true?

s, kidney scans and urine samples, so I was put on 50 mg of Losartan- atid a day, got a machine for the upper arm and everything has been normal since then (I measure everyday). My mother has had hypertension for about 10 years now, but her measurements weren't as high and she gets it from being obese.
