I have severe vulvar itching from the past 2 years. My doctor has scheduled me for a vulvar biopsy. I am very scared and worried about the biopsy. Is it very painful? Will i be having stitches? How long will it take to heal? Can i apply lidocaine before the biopsy?
I'm 16, and my doctor has said i need to have a cyst removed from the inside of my eyelid. I was wondering what the procedure for this would be? And would I be put under general or local anaesthetic during this procedure? Also, I'm in the UK if that would make any difference.
I thought my life was over before I found Dr. C. Bryce Bowling at University of Tennessee. This is what I went through before I found him. I am 38 years old & never thought that I would be having stress incontinence at my age. After having a partial hysterectomy in August 2009, I started having urine leakage. I went to my gynecologist which in return she did an urodynamics test. The results were that I needed to have a TVT, rectocele, & cystocele.
I went to the Emergency Room the other night, after cutting open the tip of my finger with crazy-sharp knife. Needed 3 stitches, preceded my two shots of lidocaine to numb finger. Finger is on the mend, but why am I 5 lbs heavier? This happened two days ago. My pre-injury weight is 112lbs at 5'3". have been taking a few Tylenol a day, eating what I usually do, which is very balanced and in moderation. Help!
I had to get stitches last night, and was given 5-6 shots of epinephrine and lidocane. I told the intake nurse I was taking synthroid (which I presume implies thyroid problems). I felt a little "unusual" afterward (pounding heart, feeling calm and detached..), and was googling the side effects of the shot.. an article said this: "Additionally, epinephrine and lidocaine usually aren’t used in patients with thyroid disease, or disease of the kidneys or liver.
I was told it would take about 6 weeks for everything down there to heal completely (I also had more stitches and was very sore from them for the first 10 days ) and only 3 weeks after the op and I feel great, the pain and irritation are almost gone completely (though not fully yet) and hopefully in the next 3 weeks everything will keep getting better till I'm fully rid of the problem for good!!
They do give a shot to numb you but it didn't kick in before the stitches for me. The same happened when I got stitches in my finger a few years ago, so that might just be me. Still didn't really hurt. With everything else that has happened, it is no problem. Haven't had any problems after either.
Well its only been 4 days so its goin to be sore for a little while I had a 5th degree tear ( I believe is what she said) with my 1st and it was sore for a good minute it felt super tight (sorry tmi) I was afraid the stitches would bust but they didnt im still a little sensitive to this day and hes 2yrs old which is guna suck when I have this lil one I wouldnt really know if your stitches could come out cause I had the ones that dissolve and the clots it depends on size I think cause I passed so
However, she has made an appointment for next week with a specialist to review all of this. I just need to know if I need to be concerned at this point because nowhere on this site does it say anything about sabacious cysts rupturing, only that they may need to be excised. Please answer ASAP as my appointment is Tues. the 11th. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. P.S. These cysts are and always have been painful.
How soon did you belly go down?? And how soon can you start to workout?? Also for ladies that did tear how soon did you start to get relief? I just had my daughter 5 days ago and I had to get 4 stitches because I tore on one side (her hand was in front of her face)....when do they start to feel better? Also tmi but I burn a little when I pee is that normal? And to feel tighter??
when it came time to stitch me up, they did put a local in and i was more worried about the needle poking me somewhere where it should never go then the actual stitches themselves. haha. I am also sure that if you do rip and you need stitches, you can ask for the local, i don't think they would refuse...
I was told not to do any heavy lifting for a few days. There were no stitches or other drugs involved except for the Lidocaine shot. the surgeon took samples from four different places, and only one really hurt. Not exactly sure what type of biopsy it was. It looked like a gun that shot into my breast (vacuum assisted biopsy??)...very fast, and the doctor used a portable ultrasound machine that he takes with him everywhere.
I did have to have stitches, the nurse gave me a shot of lidocaine or whatever before she started, and it still hurt some, so I asked for more. After the third, she told me it was legally all she could give, and by then, I could still feel her stitching, but it was very faint and didn't hurt. It felt like very soft pinching and tugging, it was nothing to worry over at all.
Surgeon put on ear drops and antiobiotics for infection. Didn't help. I still have this pain and pressure in the ear. Surgeon did not use dissolveable deep internal stitches. My body started rejecting them. They came to surface and the knots started to push through the skin on my face and behind my lower ear. I went back to have them removed in November 06. I was awake, multiple lidocaine injections. Surgeon said scar tissue formed and she had to dig through that to remove the stitches.
75 mcg graduating to 100 mcg in 4 wks and feel more normal then HYPO , I am a walking nightmare intolerances and allergies to everything and i just had a reaction to Ionophorsis steroid stuff for my shoulder injury , so can i ever get a cortisone shot in my shoulder again ii don't know whats safe and whats not anymore?
It took a good 2 weeks for my stitches to heal and I took the full 6 weeks to have sex and it was still uncomfortable.
So anyone who has a port does it get better I got a script for lidocaine which I will use on thursday for my infusion but I am 2nd guessing my decision for the port. Thanks Kat P.S. I would have posted this last week but Nemo got in my way and power was out.
Is this a normal spot for moles? It seems to have gotten darker already, but I am watching it for any other changes. I think I am going to want it off for peace of mind soon, but wondering about mole removal during pregnancy? Are there any problems with local anethesia, stitches, etc during pregnancy? Any specific anesthetic to use or not use? Any other options besides local (milder) and lastly, if this is done during first trimester is that a problem?
), and eight stitches. Maybe fifteen minutes of work all together (after waiting for an hour). A week later I went in when they told me to return, where they took a brief look at my hand and told me the stitches weren't ready to come out. A week after that I had a friend actually take them out with no pain and less waiting. The bill I received seemed ridiculous even by ER standards: $1737.45. After poking around the internet, I suspect that I may have been erroneously charged.
Don't have my appointment for about another week! Figured I'd try here first, maybe you ladies can help me out. Sorry this is so TMI. :/ I have what appears to be tears on my labia above my vagina. I noticed last night after using the bathroom I was kind of tender and didn't think much about it. But today it hurts pretty bad!! The only thing that seems to help is a cold rag placed there. Is there anything you know I could put on it to help it from being so raw?
I have about 8 teeth on the top that have to be pulled and four on the bottom including the bottom two wisdom teeth , one i might have a root canal done on, i am a HUGE hypochondriac i was put under at 18 months old to have my teeth pulled due to decay and then again at 5 or 6 to have caps put on 9 teeth bad dental runs in my family, i have had 6 teeth pulled total at 4 different appointments since 2002 , i suffer from anxiety attacks, i fear all medication, especially general anesthesia i resea
A Mammotome® biopsy can be done on an outpatient basis with a local anesthetic, removes only a small amount of healthy tissue, and doesn’t require sutures (stitches) because the incision is very small. Generally the procedure is well tolerated, and local anesthetic to numb the area is all that is required. Afterward there may be some discomfort as the anesthetic wears off and bruising at the site of the biopsy.
Does it hurt when they have to cut you down your vagina in order for the baby to come out or does the sowing hurt more???
I was given it by the nurses and then when you pee there's nothing but A nice warm almost soothing feeling even with stitches etc.
did give me some lidocaine gel, but that didn't help, I was told it could take a good year for the healing to complete and at that point I should be as good as I was gonna get. Even 2 years after it hurt, if I would squat too the pressure was not good. It did get better over time, but I guess I had so much nerve damage it will never be completely the same.
Coping with facial pain... Lots and lots of pain meds. I sometimes use Lidocaine 4% when I have cluster (or cluster-like) attacks, it has a residual effect and will stop the cluster cycle unlike Oxygen. It does not stop triggered cluster headaches (single ones, on or off-cluster season, which for me is Horrorcaine Season or Summers). Sudden pain I use Actiq, Fentanyl Citrate Lolly-pops but those are typically reserved for terminal cancer patients, I use them off-label.
I was in labor with my oldest for only about 5 hours. I figured this baby would come fairly quickly as well and I even joked throughout this whole pregnancy that the baby would either be born at home or in the car on the way to the hospital. Well.... about 3 weeks ago around 3:15 a.m. my water broke and 45 minutes later, I had the sweetest baby boy laying on the bathroom floor between my legs. My husband works on an ambulance (24 hour shifts) and was at work.
I couldn't imagine going through all the contractions and pushing a baby out without an epidural also they have to cut you down there and then put stitches in after the babys out. Just way to much for me to go through when I know a simple needle in the back can make it all painless!
They were about the same price as a regular root canals, and mine were done with just regular novocaine. It was annoying having stitches in my gums for a few days though. Hope that helps. Good luck.
There is also something called Lidocaine (sp??), that my doc gave me after having one of my babies. You put it on right before urinating, and it will numb you some. It helps w/ the burning. Still might not be a bad idea to get checked or at least call your doc and let him know how much pain you are in. Never know if there could be some type of infection. After I had my first, they gave us 2 water bottles. One was for the water, which of course, they still give.
