lidocaine for stitches

my co-worker gave me a new 10ml bottle of lidocaine, he uses it to give himself stitches. advice as to where to put the needle (i got from cvs insulin 31g-8mm),what to expect ie: will it burn- how long b4 its numb, and if i split the nail will it grow back? any advice will help..

s been alittle over a week since my son was born and every now n again my stitches itch and I refrain from scratching lol not fun. Did you ladies get the same feeling sometimes? If so are there tricks to ease the itching?

m 16, and my doctor has said i need to have a cyst removed from the inside of my eyelid. I was wondering what the procedure for this would be? And would I be put under general or local anaesthetic during this procedure? Also, I'm in the UK if that would make any difference.

I went to the Emergency Room the other night, after cutting open the tip of my finger with crazy-sharp knife. Needed 3 stitches, preceded my two shots of lidocaine to numb finger. Finger is on the mend, but why am I 5 lbs heavier? This happened two days ago. My pre-injury weight is 112lbs at 5'3". have been taking a few Tylenol a day, eating what I usually do, which is very balanced and in moderation. Help!

How soon did you belly go down?? And how soon can you start to workout?? Also for ladies that did tear how soon did you start to get relief? I just had my daughter 5 days ago and I had to get 4 stitches because I tore on one side (her hand was in front of her face)....when do they start to feel better? Well its only been 4 days so its goin to be sore for a little while I had a 5th degree tear ( I believe is what she said) with my 1st and it was sore for a good minute it felt super tight (sorry tmi) I was afraid the stitches would bust but they didnt im still a little sensitive to this day and hes 2yrs old which is guna suck when I have this lil one I wouldnt really know if your stitches could come out cause I had the ones that dissolve and the clots it depends on size I think cause I passed so

I recently had a natural delivery with second degree tearing. They do give a shot to numb you but it didn't kick in before the stitches for me. The same happened when I got stitches in my finger a few years ago, so that might just be me. Still didn't really hurt. With everything else that has happened, it is no problem. Haven't had any problems after either.

I was told not to do any heavy lifting for a few days. There were no stitches or other drugs involved except for the Lidocaine shot. the surgeon took samples from four different places, and only one really hurt. Not exactly sure what type of biopsy it was. I did have to have stitches, the nurse gave me a shot of lidocaine or whatever before she started, and it still hurt some, so I asked for more. After the third, she told me it was legally all she could give, and by then, I could still feel her stitching, but it was very faint and didn't hurt. It felt like very soft pinching and tugging, it was nothing to worry over at all.

Can aspercreme with lidocaine be used on a burn caused by a flame if its not blistered

I am terrified of needles too and I FELT NOTHING.. They used Buffered Lidocaine injection which I did not feel any of.. I must admit, I did put over the counter Lidocaine cream all over my breast about an hour before the procedure. I used this Lidocaine cream on my arm before a tetanus shot that I had to get and was so afraid of and I was screaming for the nurse to WAIT but.. IT WAS ALREADY DONE! Helps a lot so you don't feel pain. Nurse also gave me tips for next time I get an injection.

Does it hurt when they have to cut you down your vagina in order for the baby to come out or does the sowing hurt more???

It took a good 2 weeks for my stitches to heal and I took the full 6 weeks to have sex and it was still uncomfortable.

So anyone who has a port does it get better I got a script for lidocaine which I will use on thursday for my infusion but I am 2nd guessing my decision for the port. Thanks Kat P.S. I would have posted this last week but Nemo got in my way and power was out.

Hello, My sister needs extensive dental work i.e. root canals and fillings and crowns. She is a heart patient and we are wondering if Lidocaine, EPI, or any of the 'caines' are safe for dental work in heart patients? We do not want to start an arrythmia attack. Any safe meds? Thanks much.

Don't have my appointment for about another week! Figured I'd try here first, maybe you ladies can help me out. Sorry this is so TMI. :/ I have what appears to be tears on my labia above my vagina. I noticed last night after using the bathroom I was kind of tender and didn't think much about it. But today it hurts pretty bad!! The only thing that seems to help is a cold rag placed there. Is there anything you know I could put on it to help it from being so raw?

Has anyone ever been prescribed this for genital outbreaks or PHN? My doctor did for PHN. I just tried it for the first time it hurt to apply and doesn't feel the most pleasant now. Has anyone ever used this and what was your experience?

I had a follow-up PM appointment today. I haven't seen her in a couple of months. We stopped my Cymbalta about a month ago and it made a HUGE difference in how I feel mentally and emotionally. Apparently that wasn't the drug for me, and it makes no difference in my pain, which was the point of going on it to begin with. I had a terrible fibromyalgia flare-up before Thanksgiving. The worst in a long time. To the point I had to crawl up the stairs and go down on my bum.

Hi Sandy! My doctor also prescribed me the Lidocaine patch for my hip and lower back. (didn't have neck or upper back pain at that time) They only worked for about a day and they also wouldn't stick to my body but I just found out last week that I tore a ligament in my hip so that my be why they didn't work. I hope your dr.can find the right med that helps with your pain!

Some stitches fall out on their own and some dissolve.

Not to my knowledge, there is nothing that can cause a positive cocaine result.
