I've been on methadone for 3 years and decided to try and lose a little weight. Only want to lose like 25 lbs. Started taking phentermine a week ago. Docter tested my thyoid level it was low so now I'm taking levothyroxine. First couple days were fine but when I added the thyroid medicine I started getting headaches and just not feeling right. Should I continue all three medicines? I really want to lose the weight! What should I do?

How were you treated for Graves Disease? Are you now hypo? Are you on thyroid replacement hormones? If so, which ones, what dosage and for how long have you been on it? It's possible that you need to increase your med dosage, if you aren't losing weight. Typically, when thyroid hormone levels are adequate weight will come off. If you have current labs you could post, that would be helpful for us.

m not obviously expecting any results yet...but has anyone else put on levothyroxine lost weight? I also am not sure what to do about diet. I just switched to a Paleo diet so I hope that helps, and have around 1400 kcal per day, and I exercise...a lot. I do 10-20 minutes of HIIT training 6 days a week, I hike 3-4 days a week for 3 hours, and I strength train 6 days a week (spit routine, heavy weights).

I have been looisng weight It has been hard since I am throidles and bi polar I take levothyroxine .I am on zyprex and celexa for the bi polar and these are 2 of the most notorious meds for weight gain. It is possible to loose healthy diet 6 small meals a day. NO caffiine or sugar. These are 2 of the most legal addictive substances in the world and they both aggravate depression.

Does anyone take Levothyroxine and if so, what do you think of it? I have heard different things. The doctor just got me started on meds and this is what he wrote. just checking on others thoughts.

I take 50mg of levothyroxine for a border line underactive. Have no ovaries or womb and settled on HRT years ago as a result. Have never ever had bad skin. Until 5 - 6 months after taking Levothyroxine. The amount I take has stopped the terrible frightening symptoms I had. All of my family and friends and myself are so happy that I am now 'normal'. But what about this acne at 43 years of age ?????

I have been taking Levothyroxine for 3 years. At that point I started having diarrhea. My doctor said that diarrhea was not a side effect of this medicine, and that I must be gluten intolerant or lactose intolerant. So for years I've been changing my diet, with no steady results. Whatever I ate, or did not eat, I still had diarrhea. So as a last resort, I stopped taking levothyroxine three days ago. I feel great !! I have so much energy and guess what? NO diarrhea !!!

I have hashimito thyroid disorder disease for which I am taking Levothyroxine and recently 1 week before my scheduled period, I started Paleo diet with no carbohydrates (no rice,wheat,corn etc.).Do you think this can affect my periods ?

hi, Please can you tell me if it is ok to take the slimming pill t5 with 150 levothyroxine . I have had cancer and glands out, scan is ok now bt im at the gym every day and cannot loose weight.

I am currently dairy and gluten free and my fatigue and constipation have cleared up since on the diet, however I retook my Levothyroxine and within 2 hours I was constipated. The only change I had made was retaking the Levothyroxine but I did increase my fluid intake, too. The reaction I had from the medication is making me doubt the benefits of it. my husband found out he had hypothrodism in january of 2013 he started on levothyroxine in febuary . Hi guys, Well I am back on my meds after my 3 weeks stint without levothyroxine and had my 27mci RAI.. I rang my endo to find out should I be taking my normal meds 150mg and I am now hearing that he told me that I should double meds to 300mg.. What's with that?? What is going on?

I have neck swelling, headaches, run down, etc too many things to list. i am on levothyroxine 100mcgs and still being assessed, but the thyroxine seems to disagree with everything i eat or drink, os i am trying a special diet ..any advice? i am so fed up with it all., oh i get headaches everyday, after eating something that disagrees with they thyroxine and they are awful.

I went very hypothyroid end of August 2012. I am on 125 mcg Generic Levothyroxine for 2 months (started back 9/20/12). Prior I was on 75 mcg and 100 mcg Synthroid. I am still feeling some signs of hypothyroidism like not losing weight especially in the middle (despite excellent diet and exercise for a very long time), feeling fatigued mid afternoon on, some confusion and memory issues, hair loss, and achy stiff muscles/joints especially in calves and knees.
