levothyroxine and wellbutrin

A little background: My test results were normal and I was given Wellbutrin and Trazodone and sent on my way. I have just about every symptom of hypothyroid, and I'm convinced that something is acting on my thyroid. Anyway, I ran across these two natural supplements and wanted to see if anyone had tried either of them. Thanks in advance for your input!

I am currently taking Wellbutrin XL 300mg, Lamotrigine 25 mg, Zyrtec, Levothyroxine 75mg, and Atenolol 50mg. I started Lamotrigine (lamictal generic) 2 weeks ago. On day 9, I developed severe diarrhea and cramps. It was slowed down with 1 pill of Immodium, but after 2 days I decided to eat a "regular" meal and got diarrhea again. So it's been on an off for 6 days, and this morning it was worse than it was the first day!

generic Levothyroxine and 25 mcg. Cytomel......this stopped the depression and panic attacks within 3 days, when no anti-depressant (including Wellbutrin) helped at all. I now take 100 mcg. levo and 50 mcg. Cytomel, and just raised the Cytomel by 12 and 1/2 mcg without experiencing the symptoms you describe.. The dosage is highly individual and depends on where your levels are in the FREE ranges. Because my TSH was "normal" (but NOT for me, now it's below .

She started me on 75 mcg of synthroid, and gave me a prescription for Wellbutrin since I was getting worse with my depression by the day. I haven't started the Wellbutrin, but I have been on the 75 mcg for 5 days. I would like to start the Wellbutrin tonight because the synthroid might take to long to kick in if it ever does. Now the REAL question.... Will the Wellbutrin interact with the synthroid?? Plus I was going to switch my synthroid to night...

If not, then what would it mean to raise a dose and nothing happen? I take my levothyroxine every morning at the same time and on an empty stomach.

I found, per web searching, that some people get migraines from wellbutrin. Is that true? I am so hopeful because I used wellbutrin in my past and it was wonderful for me. I was at the denial stage of my illness and quit taking it, but now I understand I need my medication to live a normal life. I was also having terrible headaches then and I have them better under control due to my taking magnesium daily. Therefore I do not know if it was the wellbutrin aggrivating my headaches or not.

I am currently taking 15 mg of valium a day and just started 100 mg Wellbutrin a day for severe anxiety. The only information I read is that Wellbutrin is for Depression, is this also a medication to help with anxiety?

I have been taking prozac and wellbutrin. Some Drs. say its ok and some dont. I have been going on my second week with no wellbutrin and am staying nausea all the time. I felt like the Wellbutrin was causing me to gain weight.

The risk that does exist would relate to the fact that alcohol withdrawal tends to lower the seizure threshold and Wellbutrin does the same. And believe it or not, you experience mild alcohol withdrawal during the night after you drink more than two drinks of alcohol (hence the disrupted sleep). So, the risk depends on how much more than two drinks you have....

I was recently put on wellbutrin and xanax. I had been having severe anxiety attacks. In the past I've taken wellbutrin for depression but got off of it because I felt that was able to cope with my problems on my own without medication. It's been 3 years since I've last taken it and when I took it before I don't remember getting perscribed xanax. So, my questions is...

I would switch gradually to Cymbalta and see what happens rather than being on both. As for the Wellbutrin added to the mix it could help with libido since dopamine is in play. Both Zoloft and Wellbutrin sounds like something you could try before getting on Cymblata. I don't think you shoud mix Cymbalta with Wellbutrin personally.

Thanks. Called the pharmacist and find Wellbutrin is a SSRI so taking the 5-HTP would not have a benefit. He said one would cancel out the other. Hmm...guess it is time to start riding the bike!

I do think if you keep going with Wellbutrin and Cymbalta you will be doing just fine. Wellbutrin might be unpleasant when taking the first doses, just like any other antidepressant but the side-effects will eventually go away as your body adapts to the medicines. If after 1 month taking both drugs you don't see any improvements then you might consider trying something else but seriously Cymbalta+Wellbutrin is really supposed to give you energy and make you function more normally.

I have been on 200 mg of Wellbutrin, and 20 mg of Prozac for many years. I have never known the connection between dopamine and a decreased TSH reading until today. This would make total sense to me, though. I have symptoms of hypothyroidism, and my T3 and T4 indicate such, however, the TSH levels indicate that I have too much thyroid production.

Has anyone ever responded to the original questions posted in 2010? I am curious. I have been taking 300 mg Wellbutrin and 200 mg Topamax since May 2016 and have lost approx 30lbs. I wasn't aware of the side affects and my doctor said as long as I feel fine there is no reason to run tests. I just want to make sure others are having this same significant weight loss.

I have now been taking 150mg of Wellbutrin XL for about three months, and have noticed no imprvement. If anything, my libido has diminished even more. Since most people report a boost in sex drive with the Wellbutrin, I was wondering if I am just an atypical case, or if perhaps my dosage is not high enough to experience the improvement. So my doctor supplemented me with 100 mg of wellbutrin. Well, so far I really like the wellbutrin. It gives a boost of energy in the morning, and I feel my sex drive coming back. However, I feel like it's a little ridiculous for me to be taking one drug to counteract another. Anyone else experience this?

I would say yes, because wellbutrin is an antidepressant and klonopin is a benzo and they don't have any neg effect together usually and are often perscribed together, to be sure I would call an all night pharmacist or your local pharmacist, they can give you more professional advice, I do it all the time. JUst ask them if you can tak ethe two together and they can tell you if you need to look for or worry with side effects, but I would think it is fine.

I reacty badly to many meds and stated one tab a day of the wellbutrin 9 days ago, the last 5 days the tremors in my hands and body have just increased and increased. Doc just told me the wellbutrin could very well be causing it- too bad i took my pill already this morning. I don't know how i'm going to face anyone today shaking like this!

I'm currently taking 20mg of Lexapro and 150mg of Wellbutrin. I've taken Lexapro for about 2 years now, starting at 5mg, then 10mg, now 20mg and added Wellbutrin a few months ago. I'm seeing a psychiatrist and a talk therapist but wanted to check in with the online community.

I wastaking wellbutrin and then went off of it. After a couple of months started back on it and have continually gained weight regardeless of diet or exercise. Has anyone else experienced this? I have been taking Zoloft for years and just started Wellbutrin almost 3 weeks ago and it's doing the same to me and more. I need to let my Dr know as well, just letting you know you're not alone.

My doctor has suggested that I come off effexor (which i have been on for over 2 years) and start taking Wellbutrin XL. I was to take both of them for 1 week and then stop the effexor and take Wellbutrin only. I have not been feeling very good very tense, anxious, lightheaded and chest pains. I spoke to a pharmasist who suggested stopping the effexor straight away and continuing with the Wellbutrin.
