Avatar f tn Hi everyone. About 2 weeks ago my medication of Levothyroxine and Sertraline was increased to Levothyroxine 100 micro grams and Sertraline 50mg. About a week after starting these I got a positive pregnancy test (I took about 3 tests just to make sure lol). I have a midwife appointment tomorrow but my symptoms have been bare to none (Only cramping, tiredness and on/off headaches). I was wondering if any of these medications can effect a pregnancy test?
Avatar m tn Tremors and feeling faint could be symptoms of over medication, as could the tiredness. Weight gain is, typically a symptom of under medication and of course, so is tiredness. My own TSH has been very low (< 0.01) for over 6 years and I've never been over medicated. Will look forward to seeing your daughter's actual test results with reference ranges.
617316 tn?1274867515 I have been taking Levothyroxine for 2 years and still have many symptoms e.g. extreme tiredness, sore mucsles, brittle nails, dry lips, mouth ulcers etc. My TSH has never been normal ranging from 7.5 to -0.1 but never the dose my doctor wants me to get to which is 0.6. I want to experiment with Armour but my doctor will not prescribe it for me so I have bought it over the internet. I have started taking 1/2 grain of Armour and 25mg of Levothyroxine.
Avatar n tn Look at your perscription. Is it Synthroid, or is it Levothyroxine? They are both synthetic. Synthroid is a brand name. Levothyroxine is the generic form of the same drug. You should not accept a generic if your perscription is for Synthroid. The generic contains different inert ingredients, and the strength of the generic is not as uniform as the brand name.
Avatar f tn Since then my thyroid levels have never stabilised despite the T3 helping and the endo switched me to lactose free levothyroxine which has done nothing but given me upset stomach, diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting. If I go back to the lactose containing levothyroxine I run the risk of having suboptimal thyroid levels - this was what my endo said at the time and continuing hypothyroid symptoms.
Avatar f tn 57. Increased my Levothyroxine to 100 and my TSH went to .04. Now it is .29 and he switched me to 88 of Snythroid. I have had leg and knee pain for the last 2 years. Vit D is 55. I wasn’t tested for B12 or ferritin. I also have high cholesterol 271 with LDL at 165, trig 129 and HDL at 80. My urea nitrogen is high at 28 and my bun/creatinine ratio is high at 28. I asked about it but no one is concerned. He said I’m probably dehydrated. I drink 100 oz to a gallon of water a day.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed having an under active thyroid about 1.5 years ago, my results being "borderline". I am now on 50mg of levothyroxine sodium. Recently I have developed a itchy red rash and it keeps on spreading! Please help! Is this an affect of levothyroxine? When I was initially diagnosed I was also severely anemic, which can also be a cause of my symptoms, fatigue, hair loss, weight gain etc...
Avatar m tn How much time will it take for the hair to regrow and when will this facial puffiness go?Should I increase my levothyroxine dose?
Avatar m tn iv never had those symptoms before. I mostly get the tiredness and i loos a lot of hair it seams like. even after 6 years i still have the some of the symptoms.
Avatar f tn I think I will back down to Armour 30 mg. and pick back up on my levothyroxine at 50 mg. I do want some T3, as I believe it helps my intestines not bloat.
Avatar f tn Started to excercise at the 1st of the yr, so thought achieness and tiredness were due to that. Dry skin increase but justified that with it being winter and hair loss has always been.
Avatar n tn We increased dosage slightly, helped with the depression and tiredness, but still am fighting the aching like you are. Been on increased dosage for 2 weeks.
1176841 tn?1330832460 I take 100mcg Levothyroxine daily, my entire thyroid was removed in 2001 due to 9 nodules on it. I have been having severe swelling issues for which they can't find a cause so they tested my thyroid. My TSH was only 0.02 and the T4 Free was 1.7. What does this mean? I also have Hashimotos. Any help will be appreciated. I am female, 56yrs old TC147, HDL 69, LDL 70, Trigs 77. Weight 150 at 5'6". Not expecting all parts removed.
Avatar m tn The puffiness and tiredness are both symptoms of having hypothyroidism. I had them both when I was hypo. When I was diagnosed, my TSH was 55. The levothyroxine will help make you feel better, but it takes a while for it to get into your system and 25 mcg is a very small dosage. You will probably need more, in a few weeks. Did your doctor do any other tests besides TSH? Like Free T3 or Free T4? When are you supposed to go back for retesting?
Avatar f tn i still have aching knees, tiredness, sore feet, want to sleep all the time, dont feel like doing anything,depression......i dont understand is my does too little??? some days i feel better than others but i still feel like that.i really want to lose weight and i cant do much exercise on the treadmill like i used to cos my knees cant take it!!!
Avatar f tn I have been on Levothyroxine for over a year. My latest results show that I am subclinically hypothyroid and I had my last thyroid function test done this week along with ferritin. I am on 75mcg Levothyroxine as well as ferrous sulphate. Last few results: July - TSH: 3.5 (0.2-4.2) - 50mcg Levothyroxine September - TSH: 0.08 (0.2-4.2), FT3: 6.5 (3.9-6.7), FT4: 21.4 (12-22), TPOab: 188 (<34), TGab: 109.
Avatar f tn Hi. I'm new here and have many questions and concerns. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and anemia almost 1 month ago & have been taking rx iron 150 2x per day and levothyroxine 50 mcg (not at the same time of course.) Thyroid labs were: TSH - 6.88 Free T4 - 1.3 Free T3 - 2.7 My TSH is obviously above normal, my free T4 is mid-range and my free T3 is low-normal. I think I've been hypo or at least borderline hypo for years.
5937553 tn?1377012787 I have taken Levothyroxine for a few years now, and it doesn't seem to be helping. These last few months I have been more groggy, spacey, forgetful than ever. I have chronic fatigue as well. But I just had blood tests done, and she said besides my thyroid being low again, "everything is fine." Well why do I feel worse now then I ever have? I have never slept good or even slightly well. I go to bed the same time nightly, get up the same time every morning.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am new to all this and was hoping someone could help. I had my bloods taken a few weeks ago and was told to have a re test in 3 months. I feel as if I've had symptoms of Hypo for several years. Tiredness, depression, weight gain, skin peeling, brain fog, sinus pressure etc. This morning I saw my doctor because of this pressure/tightening pain in my throat. I feel as if someone has their hand wrapped around it and gently squeezing.
Avatar f tn 050 mcg levothyroxine i started this the end of february and it is may and i am still experiencing tiredness, mood swings, depression, anxiety all severe why? and does this ease up?
Avatar f tn Avoid magnesium carbonate, sulfate, gluconate, and oxide. They are poorly absorbed (and the cheapest and most common forms found in supplements). Side effects from too much magnesium include diarrhea, which can be avoided if you switch to magnesium glycinate. Most minerals are best taken as a team with other minerals in a multi-mineral formula. Taking a hot bath with Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) is a good way to absorb and get much needed magnesium.
Avatar f tn Recently diagnosed as hypothyroid. I have been battling extreme fatigue for almost a year. It has been quite debilitating. I'm getting ready to go back to school this fall and I'm getting worried that the tiredness and brain fog will not be gone by then. I'm on 50mcgs of levothyroxine. I started the medication 2 weeks ago. What other vitamins, supplements and dietary modifications can I do to get my energy back? How long before I get relief?? I'm tired of feeling like a zombie.
451191 tn?1264432890 I have been feeling pretty great, but have noticed some tiredness here and there (just thought it was normal fluctuations of energy levels). My doctor has increased my dose from 125 to 150 of Synthroid. I am 5'4" and 115 lbs. Do you think going to 150 is enough of an increase in my dosage to get my levels suppressed again?
Avatar f tn m on 125mg levothyroxine and my latest test came back just over 0 (0.4 I think). I can still feel tired, my skin is better but still dry and my hair is still dry and falling out. What is the normal test result ? I ask, as someone I spoke to who has hypertyroidism and she though that a normal result was around 20.
143868 tn?1263928845 Then cloudy/foggy edges would appear more around light related objects and gradually got worse. I went to see my doctor and he advised me to see my optition as he couldn't see anything wrong. Yesterday the whole eyeball was slightly red and quite foggy evenly all over in the daytime which got better by the evening. Today in the daytime I noticed all is well, no foggy, no nothing.
Avatar n tn There is a difference in Generic Levothyroxine and Name Brand Like Synthroid, I went from 10mg to 25, 50, 75, and finally 100 mg of Levothyroxine (Generic) At that time I started seeing an Endo, He informed me that when it comes to thyroid meds, Generics are not as consistant as name brand meds, all during this prior period my symptoms were all over the place, they would stop for a few days then reappear and I would feel bad for two days, The Endo put me on a name brand (Synthroid) 100mg, at thi
Avatar f tn I have requested a copy of the panel that was used to diagnose hypothyroidism. I am taking levothyroxine 112 mg1x a day. My vitamin D level was 38 and I am taking 2000 iu 1x a day. In February, of this year, my Vitamin D levels were at 5. I was given a prescription of 50000iu 1x day for 5 weeks B was not discussed so I will call in the morning and see if it was a part of the panel. I do take prescription Virt-Vite, a vitamin B supplements.
