200220 tn?1361951554 What is your experience with natural progesterone and levothyroxine. Is there any interaction that you know of that would affect my thryroid.
19622464 tn?1481141180 I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease and going to be checked for lupus I have 17 swollen left nose they want to do a biopsy I want to know why they want to do a biopsy and can lupus cause swollen lymph nodes or that she Moto disease cause swollen lymph nodes I have a thyroid problems about three years now I've been on medication levothyroxine I'm very confused and scared please help thank you
Avatar f tn At that point nobody could deny I had drug induced lupus- levothyroxine, synth road, and tyrosine all caused it. My endocrinologist at Mass General said I am one in a billion and my case is unique. I don't believe it at all. I think my case just was more indicative of drug induced and it showed in 11 months. They will not record my case because I have to go through abscientific research study, and of course they know I am not going to do it.
Avatar f tn My paternal grandfather had Sjorgens and Lupus. I have had restless legs, and have a slight rash on neck/chest. The doctor never seems concerned. They focus on the symptoms. I have had a node on thyroid for 10 years, no big deal. Now I have 3 and a lot of symptoms my gp did blood work. free thyroxine index 1.9 t3 uptake 21 thyroxine (t4) 9.1 tsh 1.510 He put me on 50 mcg of levothyroxine.
1413627 tn?1281837531 I am surprised your labs are not worse than they are. Between the Lupus, RA, Mitochrondrial Disease, stomach ulcers, and Thalasemia Minor it is difficult to say which is causing the abnormal lab counts and the other question is maybe this your baseline; normal for you (related to the multiple diagnoses). Have the labs repeated in a week, and if they are the same or worse, consult a Hematologist, especially with all you have going on.
Avatar f tn Or since they did find lesions on the brain MRI. Could it be possible to have both lupus and MS. I also have hypothyroid disease but that is under control. If anyone has any clue on this, I really appreciate the responses. I do have an aapt with my PCP on monday for my bloodwork to check thyroid and liver function.
Avatar f tn Is it possible that my levothyroxine is causing drug induced lupus. I went to the er in sept and with bloodwork they found I had a slightly elevated TSH of 15. Went to PCP and he put me on 200mcg. I soon found a new dr because my old would not listen to my symptoms of being over medicated. Anyways now I have a positive ANA and an elevated (4) RnP. I had no signs of lupus prior to starting this medication. And I really didn't have any thyroid symptoms other than dry skin and mild hair loss.
Avatar f tn Practically speaking, you can take your levo without worry that it will interfere with your antibody test. Antibody results are frequently in the high hundreds, or even thousands, so it's extremely unlikely that even an 8% drop would turn a positive into a negative. No thyroid meds lower antibodies significantly. This is not like the antibody test for celiac, which can return a false negative if you are not eating gluten at the time of the test.
Avatar f tn There's no risk getting the vaccine with, either hypothyroidism or Levothyroxine. I have Hashimoto's and take Levoxyl (brand of Levo). I'm fully vaccinated (both shots) and have had no trouble. I know several other people who are also hypo who have been vaccinated, plus I've also read several articles that indicate there's no problem getting the vaccine with Hashimoto's.
Avatar f tn 5 last year, my gyny said to talk with primary care. finally went back and primary did test and my thryoid test is now 3.87. he put me on 25 mcg of levothyroxine, will check in 3 months. will this amount help me? i see in other posts its so small it wont help. i have no energy, in menopause, gained weight, lower legs are puffy and ache so much. dry eyes(eye dr. prescribed special eye drops last year), eye brows became very thin ove last 2 years. i have atrial fibulation.
1129232 tn?1360800358 I was diagnosed about a month ago with Hashimoto's and have been on 50 mgs of levothyroxine. i don't feel any better and my vision and dizzy episodes seem to be getting worse. I was just back at the dr today and he said that the vision problems and dizziness are usually not a symptom of Hashimoto's. He suggested i might also have lupus and did blood testing for that as well as did more blood tests to re-check my TSH, FT4 and FT3 levels. i get my blood test results back in a week.
Avatar n tn the symptoms of Lupus, RA and a couple other autoimmune conditions. The only thing that can treat hypothyroidism is replacement thyroid medications, such as T4 medications containing levothyroxine (brand names include Synthroid, Levoxyl, etc), T3 medications containing Liothyronine (brand name Cytomel) and desiccated hormones that contain, both T4 and T3 (these include Armour, NatureThroid, WP, etc).
2112641 tn?1334677683 s , then told I had graves disease when I was 6 wks pregnant. also had positive test for lupus and was told to wait til after treatment of thyroid to have a re-test as Graves disease can cause a false positive for lupus.I took beta-blockers and anti-thyroids until the baby was born, and then had radio-active treatment to kill my thyroid.
Avatar f tn Sorry you don't feel well. I didn't like the levothyroxine either. I had severe chest pain all the time with it. You may want to talk to your doc about conversion issues. Hashi's is no fun when you go into the hyper mode. You should always take your meds regardless how you feel. I know I just want to quit taking them all, but I have to admit switching did seem to help a little. I am on armour now. Body is adjusting slowly.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your reply. Other than feeling extremely tired I have had lots of symptoms over the past couple of years. I have gained 15 lbs I can't seem to lose although I have always been thin, have anxiety and depression that seemed to come out of no where, hot flushes, feel cold all the time, dry skin, pale, feel brain fog like I can't think straight, cycle is off some months with 2 periods, etc.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with RA and now my thyroid is to high .I am having jerking in my hands and I am severly fatagued.Does this sound like I have some other disease.Every part of my body hurts!!I I sleep all the time ..He has given me oxycodone and use to have lots of energy when I took it and the pain would stop .Now my hands jerk all the tme it's even hard to type this letter.I am so tired all the time .He also gave me Levothyroxine He said my thyroid was to high.
Avatar f tn I have fibro, developing lupus and hypothyroidism. It can get easier once you get on the right treatment plan and learn how to adjust to your new life with fibro.
200220 tn?1361951554 My question to you is it dangerous to use with taking levothyroxine 37.5 with having hashimotor disease. My doctor is an MD also and seem to be very knowledgeable about the thyroid along with helping me with celiac disease. What is your experience with this natural product.
Avatar m tn (Had a hysterectomy, July 2010) and they thought it was a hormonal thing and my heart kept racing from synthroid and my numbers went crazy and I was in a storm and taken off everything. I've gained a ton of weight over the last year and feel absolutely horrible. Could the hashimotos be making me feel so awful or could this be thyroid cancer? I'm really worried as my neck is swollen, having trouble swallowing, etc.
Avatar f tn Another good one is Tirosint, which is a gelcap and contains only glycerine, water, Levothyroxine and gelatin. Tirosint tends to be the most expensive, but the manufacturer has programs for those who qualify. Is TSH the only thyroid related blood test that's being performed regularly? What about Free T4 and Free T3? Those are the actual thyroid hormones.
Avatar m tn The doctor put me on Levothyroxine, and now after 3 and a half months, I have indigestion approximately 3 times a week, bloated stomach, and balance problems. Why should I take this medication when before I started taking it, I had no symtoms? Can I stop taking this medication? I'm thinking that perhaps I was born with this thyroid problem, and it was not a problem until I started taking the medication.
Avatar n tn My son had a lot of problems after starting Levothyroxine and Cortef, racing heart and palpatations, nausea, dry mouth and muscle pain. It took time for his body to adjust. It helped to lower his thyroxine. How much Cortef are you prescribed to take?
Avatar m tn hey docs. i was treated recently for ngu and a testi infection. 750 mg of levaquen for 28 days. but this is what i read. The selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) sertraline (ZOLOFT), widely prescribed for depression, has been associated with a decrease in the effect of levothyroxine. i take zolaft 100 mg daily. i still have testi pain and burning. i am now bieng treated with diflucan for 7 days for a yeast infection. should i be worried. do u think my ngu was wiped out.
Avatar f tn Back in February, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease. I began, and am still taking, Levothyroxine .100mg. However, lately I feel like I've been catching everything. I was always the type of person who hardly got sick or caught a cold. I now feel like my life is a cold. Because of this, there are times I'm afraid to go out and socialize, and to others, it just looks like a lame excuse; because, well, I can't ALWAYS be sick, right?
Avatar f tn Okay I do have a thryriod problem and take levothyroxine down to 25mg from 50mg. My Sodium, Serum and TSH were considered on the LOW end. that was the lastest test. I printed up my tracker for my doctor, decided to send her all of May and continued for June. Lol, on 1994 I had a car accident where my back did hurt but just like the scar on my nose...Fairfax Hospital in VA left me on the stretcher with my nose open and in excrusiating pain...
617932 tn?1221307231 Anyone any ideas please?? Or any answers. I have an under active Thyroid and am taking levothyroxine.....have had blood tests and they have ruled out any further connection with that!
