Here is series of events. I've been on .1 levathroid for 5 days a week, 1/2 dose two days a week. By accident the dose was upped to .1 daily for about a month. The hospitol said I was hypo and took me completely off for 3 days. The doctor then put me BACK on the 7 day regiment. It has been 5 weeks and I've gained over ten pounds. NO changes have been made to my diet.
My thyroid does not work.
i still have the same symptoms (always cold/bbt is 96.1, weight gain even with limited calories and good workout program, poor memory, swelling/bloating/water retention, very tired & fatigued). i am in the process of running a bunch of labs. cushings came back negative, waiting to verify if i have a hereditary adrenal tumor. my TPOAB is still high and my TSH is high so the endo called today and said to take my normal dose all week and then 112.
it all started with a severe headache and after the increased urinating/ thirst ,and because of it get dehydration then coldness, weight gain specially in my mid section, my arms and leg are thin also been getting striae thighs and breast.have loss menstrual cycle get the cramps without the bleeding, acne, muscle weakness also bone been cracking all the time and i barely eat because i dont have appetite.
If you are hypothyroid, you will probably need the med for life. When taken in the proper amount prescribed by your doctor, it will prevent health issues related to being hypo.
been on a strict diet - thinking that I would start to lose weight or atleast my weight would stabilize. I continued to gain weight at a rate of 1.5 - 2kgs every few months. To make matters worse, I injured my back in Oct 07 - so it's been like a double whammy as far as trying to lose weight!

i have been thinking that its all one thing. But, now i think maybe the dizziness, headaches, nausea and stuffy ears and headaches are part of chronic sinus infections. it happened last December and got better by February. now its happened again in octer and is still around.
I'm not sure if the night sweats, etc is due to Hashimoto's or not - I haven't been dx with that yet. I am hypothyroid and am awaiting test results for Hashi. I've never heard of night sweats being a symptom, but, for several years, I suffered from terrible night sweats.
worried about possible weight gain? And what foods or vitamins etc. to avoid and those that will help. Also I wish for all of you to know this has been a hard thing to deal with but even this soon after the surgery I feel more energy than before and can breath and swallow better despite breathing tube placement for surgery. Although I was long in recovery I was able to walk out of hospital on two feet the next morning, I almost did not have energy to walk in there.
After the diagnosis of Hashimitos (I already have cholitis), I have been taking 75mcg levothroid and the node disappeared. None of my symptoms have disappeared, however. I gained 45 lbs in a 2 year period mostly around my stomach and my tissue around my neck (clavicle) are noticeably swollen. I have fatigue, sore, achy body especially my lower back and right hip. I am not the same person. I went back to my family physician and he did blood tests. TSH was high, but T4 and T3 were normal.
I am losing weight even though I was told I had an underactive thyroid, I have advanced osteoporosis, could my adrenal glands be the culprit?
You should remember that I did start you on levothroid and I have been reducing your medication dose for last few years from 100 mcg a day as far as I can remember to the current 75 mcg 1/2 tab daily. I also refer you to endocrinology few years ago and Dr. ******* did your thyroid biopsy but did not give advice about whether you should take more or less levothroid.

Constantly cold, tired, fatigued and weak. A little 5-10 lbs weight gain. On and off depression over years. Low body temp. 97.1 and resting pulse. Some constipation. I felt like flat soda. Lost touch with friends. Quit my job. I just thought it was normal aging.
I thought I was healthy, just overstressed and overworked, but apparently I've been hypo for years. My Endocrinologist, did an ultrasound and showed a dramatically atrophied Thyroid.
