I've been taking Tylenot PMs for about 8 years. I had blood test taken and the results back that my emzymes are very high. My Dr.recommending me to a Liver Specialist. Also from the results from my blood test showed I had a kidney infection, I've been on Levaquin for about eight days now. I hope by me going to Specialist I will get answers. If enyone has any feedbacks please share it with me. Thankyou.
I took Levaquin unfortunately last week to treat a bacterial infection. The infection is gone but now my legs are tingling all the time and are in pain as well. I am wondering how long these side effects last and if there is any way to make them go away sooner. I am also having trouble sleeping now. I wish I knew this before taking this!!!

You can Google it and I suspect you have. This drug causes kidney problems in some. It can cause liver problems. The symptoms you describe are all listed as possible side effects of this drug. Most of them seem to be incurred while you're on the drug, but some can be lasting and you have those. On the other hand, you've been tested so much I also suspect they would have found any lasting kidney or liver damage. Joint and tendon pain is common in both adults and young people.
Five months ago I had taken Levaquin. The doctor gave it to me for bronchitis. After a couple of days I started feeling pain in my upper chest, shoulder, down my right arm and right underarm. The pain feels like a needle is jabbing me. Sometimes the pain will go away and somtimes it is very bad and lasts for weeks at a time. I also have some musle pain in these areas. Can you please help me figure out what to do about this.
Yeah, some docs don't like the drugs in that family of abx (Levaquin, Avelox, Cipro) as eventually they're going to get a patient with a bad reaction. Nothing like a ruptured achilles heel requiring surgery, crutches, and rehab to **** off a patient! ;)
I just did my second set of blood tests today, and I see my LLMD on Wed. I have slowly declining kidney function, but I don't know if that's related to the Levaquin or what.
The ultrasound from my personal doctor showed a kidney stone in my left kidney and slightly increased lymph nodes. On 05/06/10, I was released back to work and told to come back when the hernia was worse (or showing a buldge). Since that time, I have seen two Urologists, have had multiple xrays, blood work and urine tests (the blood and urine all come back clean).
Hi all! I am 26 years old, and I have been having some problems with my throat since memorial day weekend. It started then with a bad bout of viral tonsilitis (aka death, lol). I was treated anyway with levaquin because i was exposed to strep, but culture came back neg. I cleared up and everything was fine for a few weeks until I noticed one day that I still had a little swelling and one spot of pus on my left tonsil, but not really any pain.
I did read the side effects to the medicine before hand and was real leery about taking the medication. I Just hope this hasn't ruined me for life. It makes me depressed because I was a real active person before and my personality has changed quite a bit from this. Hopefully I will get down to the bottom of this.
m so sorry that you are having these problems. It sounds like you have had a bladder infection which has gone up into your kidney and is causing your pain. It may be that you weren't taking antibiotics for long enough to clear up your initial infection and it has come back. Definitely get treated again and then get your doctor to find out what is causing your symptoms to occur as urine/kidney infections aren't usual in young women.
The next time you are prescribed Levaquin the drill is not to "tell the physician you have had problems". The drill is to REFUSE the levaquin. The second part of the drill is to go to the FDA site on the internet and submit a written adverse drug effect report. Just telephoning your physician about the problems is not sufficient. You need to write a letter and send it certified mail. Pain in the joints and elsewhere are common side effects of Levaquin.
I am being treated for the infection. At the same time as the appendicitis I went to the emergency room for kidney stones. I had lithotripsy done for that 1 week ago to remove the stone. Over the past year I have experienced the following symptoms... I have been to many different docs and the emergency room and don't know what to do. All of these symptoms may not be relevant, but I thought more information the better.
The doctor told me I had sand in my kidneys so I began thinking of kidney stones having caused my problems. A week after the symptoms subsided completeley.
In July 2014 I had another ultrasound which showed a 3mm stone in my right kidney. Urine cultures were negative. In October 2014 I started having slight pain and discomfort in my genitals and after physical activity I felt a sharp pain in my right testicle. When I came home, there was a lot of blood in my urine.
Ok so i went to the doctors for because i had kidney pain and i my urethra itches constantly my tongue is a whitish color and i have dry mouth, at night i sweat alot in my sleep, my tests for gonorrhea and chlamydia came back negative i also have ahad headaches im worried any ideas what it could be?
I went to two doctors and they did a urine test to see if I had kidney stones or UTI and I came out clean. I know those test do not test for Chlamydia or Gonorrhea, but would if had showed bacteria if I had any one of those diseases? What is the likelihood that I might have that? I used a condom so I was positive I was being safe. What is the likelihood that I might have got infected? Should I worry about HIV? I have no discharge……..
I was prescribed six 500mg Levaquin tablets to treat Strep Throat and a potential sinus infection. I only took 4 of the 6 pills since the side effects were getting to much to handle. I started on 3/12/2010 to 3/15/2010.
Here were the side effects:
-nausea
-no appetite
-headaches
-dizziness
-diarrhea
-anxiety attacks
-confusion, like you don't feel like yourself
After I stopped taking it, my nausea and appetite returned gradually in the following two days.
1. Should I be concerned about HIV and go for another test now?
2. Is there a possibility of late seroconversion (esp. on a low risk exposure) with 11 weeks test being false negative?
3. Should I test for any other STD or is this kidney related?
4. What does Blood and WBC in urine indicate?
5. What could be my real risk here and why is my immune system behaving so erratic? Is this stress related ?
She had a severe allergic reaction to levaquin back in september, but recent rash did not begin until feb. She was taking macrobid for kidney infection in jan. but rash did not begin until feb. she has seen primary care, infectious disease control and allergy doctos and none of them can tell her what it is or what causes it. Biopsy says bacterial fungus, but steroids and antibiotics not helping.
after taking Levaquin 500 mg for 2 days I had a sudden onset of stiffness at inner rt thigh. after 1 hr could not put any weight on rt leg. numb spots bilateral calves. I stopped Levaquin and contacted my dr. who changed the antibiotic and told me to take motrin for the inflammation and explained that tendon rupture was rare on Levaquin. This is day 4 I'm walking with a slight limp due to stiffness inner thigh and weight bearing.
Hi. I have been experiencing some really disturbing set of symptoms. I was a healthy and happy 22 year old and now feel almost crippled. I have peripheral neurpathy, horrible anxiety, deppression, nausea, weight loss. I took Levaquin for a UTI infection in November 2009 and didn't have symptoms then. I also had a susequent yeast infection. Do anybody have any idea what could be causing thIs? Thank you and God Bless.
