Oh I forgot to mention that my bf was put on docy too for the chlamydia that he thought I had even tho he didnt test me for it. Sooo now after this last time that it came back I am having real bad problems with cramping and I'm frustrated that this horrible disease keeps coming back. So my question is, has anyone had their PID recurr over and over again or can this be maybe trich and since my bf wasnt treated with the right meds for it he keeps giving it to me?

I had a sleep study done and waiting for results. I have had Levaquin 500 mg for 20 days. Then Levaquin 750 mg for 10 days. I still have fever and sinus headaches. The doctor also started me on Mucinex. I do not think it is doing anything at all. My fever varies from 99.9 to 100.5. I am always tired. I don't feel I am getting any answers and I don't want to feel like this anymore.

I've been reading the posts about chlamydia. If we can't have it for three or four years, for example, without knowing it, how is it that it causes PID and infertility? Wouldn't it need to be around for years to cause these complications? Thanks!

t want to battle with my doctor (who is a huge advocate of levaquin), but it seems that levaquin is not the right direction for me (I am allergic to penicillin), even if I were to develop pneumonia, which, with the corticosteroids, is also an increasing possibility. I need help please. My doctors had me on Levaquin for 4 years straight. I believe it's destroyed most of my immune system. Since being off Levaquin for the past few months, I have had chronic bronchitis and pneumonia since. My muscles and body is in agony. I now have to use oxygen all the time, day and night. The recovery times from surgeries are greatly extended now. I'm having another back surgery in a few weeks.

I was on Levaquin for 10 days for a sinus infection. Have severe joint pain in both knees and shoulders. Hurts to walk, and cannot move my arms above my head. Stopped taking Levaquin on Monday and is now Wednesay and pain is still unbelievable. Does anyone know how long the pain will last and is there any way to get the pain to go away sooner? But the original post is from 2005. It's five years later and I'm wondering if your advice has changed. I was also told because of my symptoms that I have PID as well. When I went in for my surgery 2007 they would have told me i had it then, but I didnt. I am sure I was given an antibiotic for the bacterial vaginosis or the Yeast infection because I couldnt get rid of it, but I am almost positive that was late 2007. Levaquin made me very ill. I have lupus & was given Levaquin for a sinus infection. Big no no. Levaquin can & will give you autoimmune disease symptoms and I already had one. Your doctor does an assessment for PID during your internal exam. No pain with the exam, not likely you have PID. If you haven't had a full std screen yet why not ask for one to cover the bases? Your future fertility could be at risk though if you always use condoms except for oral sex, the risk of contracting a bacterial std is very , very low. MC can't be tested for without obvious lesions present. Trich also isn't routinely tested for unless you have symptoms of vaginitis.

I think that I have had a severe drug reaction and do you think the shooting pain is Levaquin related? I took Ibuprofen for the tendon pain for 2 years starting the day after I finished the Levaquin 3 years ago. Did this increase the nerve damage? I have no balance or muscular strength problems.
