Levaquin for pid

Common Questions and Answers about Levaquin for pid

levaquin

Is Levaquin taken for two weeks effective against PID? 4. I still seem to have some swelling in my testicles after completing treatment but have had a negative urine test. Does it seem likely then that my past epididymitis was not caused by an STD? How accurate was my first swab test? I think It was a culture, but am unsure. They made a preliminary diagnosis of negativity after 30 minutes and microscopic examanation, and I got final results 2 weeks later.
I have read some posts here and it makes me wonder, with the positive test for Chlamydia, even though it was from December and now it was May, why did not my doctor prescribe something for Chlamydia and gave me antibiotics for PID only? I am really frustrated. My new doctor told me they (I don't know who 'they' are) lost my test. I retested and now I am waiting to hear the results. I called, explained I have symptoms, the doctor is not returning the call. What is this?
one thing led to another and she ended up in the hospital with what they called presumptive PID. They put her on Metriz. and Levaquin for two weeks...and everything cleared. I revisited my doctor and he tells me that there are other bacteria that can lead to PID and that it's possible that the PID occurred via different means. Fast forward to this week, and the PID occurred again. My partner was given the same meds again...
Oh I forgot to mention that my bf was put on docy too for the chlamydia that he thought I had even tho he didnt test me for it. Sooo now after this last time that it came back I am having real bad problems with cramping and I'm frustrated that this horrible disease keeps coming back. So my question is, has anyone had their PID recurr over and over again or can this be maybe trich and since my bf wasnt treated with the right meds for it he keeps giving it to me?
thanks aj I really appriciate your input ....Im going to finish my levaquin and wait for my std results. If the pain doesnt go away I will make another appointment with my gynecologist.
I don't know why a doctor doesn't know that, especially when the information is readily available on the internet, etc. You should get either levaquin or oxfoxacin. http://www.cdc.gov/std/treatment/2006/pid.
I had a sleep study done and waiting for results. I have had Levaquin 500 mg for 20 days. Then Levaquin 750 mg for 10 days. I still have fever and sinus headaches. The doctor also started me on Mucinex. I do not think it is doing anything at all. My fever varies from 99.9 to 100.5. I am always tired. I don't feel I am getting any answers and I don't want to feel like this anymore.
Shortly after she developed what appeared to be a very painful UTI that even went into her kidneys. She was given Levaquin for 7 days and she felt fine after. (She had never had a UTI before) After that incident I went back to my urologist and asked for another Gonorrhea /Chlamydia test. Again came back negative. NAAT urine test Had sex with my wife again and again she has pain in the bladder area along with some burning urination along with some pain in her lower back / upper butt.
It is difficult to answer your questions without examination. PID is certainly possible - any the antibiotics are appropriate for this diagnosis. There is the possibility of a pelvic abscesses - and a CT scan can be considered to evaluate this possibility. Dark urine can be due to infection, dehydration or kidney disease. Levaquin can be harmful to the kidneys in the setting of pre-existing disease, so you may want to consider blood tests to evaluate the creatinine level.
Why were you given Levaquin for pain, isnt his a antibiothic? Caution should be exercised in prescribing to patients with liver disease.[45] http://en.wikipedia.
Should I be concerned about PID? 2) She just took (3 weeks ago) a 5 day supply of Levaquin, 750mg each. Would this clear any long term chlam/gono infection if in fact she had it? 3) I know I do not have anything now--concern is that I had it without symptoms (oral sex scare) and my antibiotics cleared it--but before I finished my full course, she caught something 4) To reiterate, she over the course of 7 months has had 3 full 5-day regimine zpacks (1.
(i already knew that!!) He told me to take SD Bactrim or Levaquin i took SD because it was cheaper for 4 weeks but it didnt work. After 3 weeks i get a burning sensation while urinating so the doctor told me to take cipro or levaquin. I took cipro for 2 weeks then i did a urine culture test and it showed i had Staph which was resistant to both SD and Cipro so i was like what the hell!!
He then prescribed me Biaxin which I did not take. He told me there was no test to diagnose NSU and that my partner was at risk for PID. Is that true? I then decided to see a urologist who right away told me that I did not have NSU. He did a urine test at his office and he told me that It was fine. He still gave me doxycycline for 10 days because he knew I was worried. He also said that all I needed to worry about was Chlamydia and Gonnarhea(SP?
I just returned from my dr's this afternoon after giving my third in the last two months urine sample. Today, they gave me a perscription for Cipro, a few weeks back, it was Levaquin, a few weeks before that, it was Septra. This is the third anti-biotic that they have perscribed for me to knock out this stubborn urinary tract infection.
I was put on Levaquin for one week, and although it greatly reduced the pain, it did not eradicate it, which was why I suspected an STD and made an appointment with a gynecologist. I had stopped the Levaquin for seven days prior to seeing the gynecologist for the pap smear and STD cultures. Do you suppose the Levaquin could have resulted in a false-negative for either chlamydia or gonorrhea?
I complained to the hospital and they got me into see another urologoist that day. This doctor put me on levaquin now for 30 days, this was probably my drug of choice but I didn't take enough or just waited too long. I started getting better, took a couple of weeks off of work to rest and make the most of my situation. At the end of my treatment I felt I was almost completely cured. Two weeks later I relapsed. I returned to the Urologist and he diagnosed me with chronic prostatitis/CPPS.
he is over seas and i was not sure if maybe he might could have a different strain of some type of std because he was treated with zitharmax and doxy , then we was given rociphen 1 gram im and levaquin 750 mg for 7 days and that when he started with the buring when he urinates and the pain with yellow discharge. can you please help i really dont know what else i can do to help him beside for him to go back to the doc and get testing done.
I went to another doctor and took a urine test for stds, which came back negative, then returned to the urologist and he again diagnosed me with epididymitis and gave me levaquin to take for ten days, which i am currently doing. I have a girlfriend and certainly don't wont to infect her. I have read that the most common causes of epidiymitis for someone my age is an STD (CH.,GON.
I went to the emergency room on Tuesday because the bloating was scaring me and for the pelvic discomfort. She took tests for pancreatis, pregnancy and h-pylori, then told me I need to schedule an appointment with a OBGYN. I called the OBGYN, but now they aren't able to see me for another two weeks. I am scared and anxious because I feel like no one's paying attention to me (I'm 29 years old), and this has been going on for 6+ months now. I don't feel myself. Thanks for your insight.
I believe that during this general period and the preceding year I took one or more unusual antibiotics - for abdominal pain (suspected infection/PID) and a tooth abscess. Three months later whilst on an outdoor education camp my big toes went numb. A week later my right arm started stinging, a week after that both legs went numb up to the knees and my right hand went numb down one side. Then came muscle weakness and fatigue that came in great black waves.
I am loosing my hair over the matter and do not want to loose her for such a stupid mistake. I eventually was able to contact the girl who happens to live in the Chlamydia capitol of North America. She told me she "wasn't that type of girl" and said she was clean. I have a hard time believing that and wanted to hopefully hear you thoughts on the matter. Can These symptoms be related to E.choli or another type of infection due to the sexual encounter? I have tested neg. fo everything..
Hello, Thanks for any help anyone has to offer. I've been suffering from an inflammed and irritated meatus for just over seven weeks now and I'm really confused as to what's causing it or how to fix it. I'm in a foreign country at the moment so access to healthcare and consequently explaining my problem in a foreign language hasn't been the easiest. For that reason, I'm writing here to see if anyone could lend some advice.
I also got a endoscopy and colonoscopy because I was constipated for 2 weeks and that was all normal except for chronic gastritis. My uncle is a nurse and said that the pain sounds like it could be my gallbladder, so I had a ultrasound on my gallbladder, pancreas and right kidney 2 days ago and they said everything is normal there too. I was convinced that I had gallstones because the symptoms matched perfectly and the pain comes on after eating greasy or fatty foods.
I found a person on the MSN body odor support forum who had a bad odor for a long time and then the odor went away after being treated for H. Pylori, but then the coughing and sneezing started after that. Interesting. Another person on the MSN board said he was also treated for H. Pylori and then the coughing/sneezing started! Question: Do any of you burp a lot? Here is a thread that should be read: http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=561071#i Read the replies to that link also.
