Received unprotected oral sex again and same problems started all over again. Given azithro, cipro, and levaquin again and nothing cleared symptoms up. I tested twice for HIV at 8 months (oral test) and a year (blood test) and both were neg. Went to urologist and he said I had scared tissue that he removed and also performed varricocelle surgery. I have the same tenderness in my right testicle which I notice increases as I sit for long periods.

Hi, I've been suffering from urinary tract infections for about the last two and a half years. It got to the point where I was having a huge flare up every two months. Every time I got a culture, the results would come back and they said that there was a small amount of bacteria in my urine, but the culture itself was negative. I just went to a new urologist, and he had me give a sample and take it to the lab in the same building as his office for a culture.

Im am soooo exhausted physically and mentally. Could it be staph or herpes. I googled it and the pics look a lot a like.. Help I am now on levaquin 750mg..

Levaquin a a pretty strong broad spectrum antibiotic. I was told it was effective against staff also, when I had a cut on my leg that wasn't healing. There is an article on webmd about leep and side effects. Type leep in the webmd search engine.

I have had problems with staph for over a year. My pcare dr has handled most of them. He gave me Keflex, and said to use perioxide, and hot compresses. Well, I kept getting them. He said I was culturized and it would show up on a swab from my nose. He said it was contagious, though my husband never got it. I had one in my rectum and then it went to one eye. The eye doctor said everyone has staph on their body, it is a bacteria, but some people are more subseptible to break outs.

There is already a large scar from the last infection on my cheek that turned into cellulitis and was incredibly painful and left a red patch and a white scar in the site. Right now it is trying to return with a black small line just underneath the skin where it always happens. Any suggestions?

A biopsy was done, and was told that I had dermatitis and there was staph, but nothing more than normal. I started to have some pain when urinating, but was told that it was probably due to the steroids... nothing to worry about. Over the course of the year, the pain would come and go. I wouldn't really call it a burning sensation, but, whatever you call it, it was uncomfortable when urinating... the best way to describe would be like there's a cork blocking the urine just when I start.

You need to write a letter and send it certified mail. Pain in the joints and elsewhere are common side effects of Levaquin. Most times this wears off (the good news), but there are instances of long-term damage from this particular antibiotic (that's the bad news). Statistics are on your side.

On Wednesday, I went to the follow up with the surgeon that was called in to oversee my hospital stay and he said I am cured and I had MSSA (Methicillin SENSITIVE Staph A). I went to my GYN for follow up yesterday, and he said I have MRSA not MSSA. This is what the culture says: Gram Stan Wound - Final Rare WBC's; Few Gram Positive Cocci Culture wound aerobic Final - Organism 1 Staphylococcus aureus Heavy Growth Staphylococcus coagulase nagative isolated also.

s say that the doctor calls me before the weekend and says that I did indeed have a bacterial infection that the Levaquin treated and all other tests came back negative (this is a hypothetical situation obviously). I started taking it today (Monday); by the time Saturday rolls around, I will have taken my 6/7 dose. My question is this: will I still be able to transmit any infection that I may have right now? Or will the Levaquin have made it so I am no longer contagious?

Many antibioitics cause reflux. Levaquin is a strong one and is known to cause problems. I would recommend that you take the Levaquin with dinner tonight (it is supposed to be taken with food) and then enjoy the evening with your husband so you can both monitor your symptoms. If you have the difficulty breathing again, you should go to an ER. Also, if you are an asthmatic, you probably just need to use your inhaler on a regular basis while you get over this infection.

Have severe joint pain in both knees and shoulders. Hurts to walk, and cannot move my arms above my head. Stopped taking Levaquin on Monday and is now Wednesay and pain is still unbelievable. Does anyone know how long the pain will last and is there any way to get the pain to go away sooner? My doctor said I should feel better in a couple of days.

I was on levaquin a couple years ago, it made me very sick to my stomach and gave me some joint pain. I didn't realize until after I took it that it can damage tendons and I read it can also cause hernias. I would never take it again. That's just my opinion, I would also ask for something else.

I went to the dr. today and was dx with a UTI. I am pretty sure I just have a UTI but if for whatever I have an STD will the Levaquin that I am taking for my UTI cure chlamydia or gonorhea? Glad you are surviving. Staph is so tricky. My son is a freshman and plays football, and i can tell you, getting staph is so easy, it is getting rid of it that is the problem. We currently have it running around the boys athletic locker room. The school claims to sterilize the locker rooms real well, but it has not stopped the staph from spreading, every week another two boys will come down with it.

If you have been taking levaquin, do not have a urine chlamydia test. Levaquin cures chlamydia and would make the test negative, even if you were infected recently. At this point, there is no point in having any more chlamydia testing at all.

I would trust the pharmacist. I have had levaquin and synthroid and it has been fine. They have website that you can search the reaction of medications with each other. Just google it. Good luck!

At this point I still had a bit of swelling in the testicle and spoke with my urologist and was prescribed another course of levaquin. ive taken it for 7 days now and see that i am still having the clear discharge and have some discomfort. also, i was also treated for a mycoplasma pnemonia infection about 3 weeks prior and was given clarithomycin for 10 days. i went to a new doctor, because I just moved out of state, and am waiting the results of a urinalysis.

Try going back to your doctor and ask about getting some blood tests done for strep, staph (MRSA), meningitis, and any other possible tough-to-kill bugs your doctor might think of. You should have those results in before your ENT appointment, which will make that appointment more productive. I would not take any more steroids if I were you.

I went back to doctor and went on another cycle of levaquin. The swelling still remained and the spot remained too, until I took a Q tip and wiped it away myself (lol gross, but it was bothering me). Ever since the second cycle of levaquin I have had the feeling of my throat swelling up, and a sensation of a lump whenever I swallow. I can swallow and breath fine, it just feels like tightness, like I am being choked.
