Lumigan is a glaucoma medication that is put directly on the eye. Latisse is the same medication, different packaging for eyelash growth and it is painted on the eyelashes with a brush.
I suppose the study that was completed 12/31/09 for growing eyelashes was only done on upper lid eyelashes.
Then that's all that the FDA will allow them to say.
there is a very fine hair that grows from the corner of my eye, i pull it out when it gets long enough to irritate but it returns. its not an eyelash, its not from my eylid at all its from the pink fleshy area in the corner of my eye. Everyone i talk to about this says it is not possible but i know it is. what in world is this?
There should be significant visual recovery after a week and by one month it should be pretty well healed. My doctors do not like to use latanoprost after cataract surgery because it may increase the incidence of CME (macular edema).

Will I escape corneal damage/disease if I use Zioptan rather than latanoprost? Will there also be less irritation? (My insurance will pay 80% of the cost, so it is affordable for me). Are there are disadvantages to using it?
I was misdiagnosed as having pressure in my eyes and was given Latanoprost eye drops which I used for 5 days and my intuition told me to stop it and get a second and third opinion which I did. I then found out I did not need to be on Latanoprost and my eye pressure was normal. I am only 45 and never had a problem with dark circles under my eyes which developed two days after I started using the eye drops.
They said that my cornea is really thick and my optic nerves are oddly shaped, but there is nothing to worry about at this time. I was prescribed latanoprost which I took and my eye pressure had decreased as it should at my follow up visit in January.
Since then, I have undergone some heart testing due to having palpitations and I ended up going off of the latanoprost, with permission from my doctor. I haven't noticed a large difference in my eyes until recently.
Since you have recently had surgery we feel you need to ask the surgeon about this. This is a generalization. Trouble opening the eyes in the morning often means they are drying out during sleep. Don't sleep under fan or have air blowing across eye. latanoprost often dries eyes out during sleep. You can ask your doctor about this. We have our patients put latanoprost or their glaucoma drop in about 30 minutes before they go to bed.
OK, great! You've removed the doubt. I am a worrywart. She also said it was up to me whether to start latanoprost. My IOP was 19/21, which she said wasn't that high but the low nocturnal dips in my BP were concerning. And also the suspicious nerves. So I guess I ought to take the drops ...
hi - i've had dry eyes for one year, the initial symptoms were just dry eyes, this increased to mucins, then itching, redness, tearing. i've been to so many consultant opthalmologists. i'm now 29, female, nothing is helping. my current diagnosis is ocular allergies or rosacea. i have no skin symptoms, but have noticed a red nose. anyway, all of the doctors say there are no signs of blepharitis. I am on a tetracycline antibiotic for acne - for several years.
I paid $250 for a medication I usually pay $40 for and on checking that was the reason. There is a generic latanoprost but its not as strong or as long acting.
Diagnosised as open-angle glaucoma. I use latanoprost drops which successfully control the pressure. (Last measured at 13 to 14)
My opthalmologist has said that lens replacement may alleviate the pressure. I would not need to use the eye drops afterwards.
What is your opionion?

After a few days, they completely went away. But awhile ago I got an eyelash in my eye, in the same area the veins were in. I used the tip of my finger to get the eyelash out, and then a short while later the red veins popped up again. They feel sore and when I tried using eye drops, it burned, so I stopped. Will they go away? Should I use eye drops, or just leave it alone until it fades on it own? Does anyone have any idea why these veins popped up?
I have been using eyelash curlers for quite some time, and never before have I had any problems. Recently, I have noticed that my corner lashes are much shorter than those in the middle. If the curlers are causing my eyelashes to shorten, how come they haven't affected the lashes in the centre of my eyelid? If you suspect that my eyelash curlers aren't the source of the problem, will you please suggest what could be?
I was recently diagnosed with glaucoma in both eyes and prescribed eye drops to take 3x daily for the rest of my life.These eye drops are 1) Latanoprost and 2) Dorzolamide/timolol. A few weeks after taking these eye drops I notice a large rise in blood pressure (top and bottom numbers)..with my bottom number around 100. Can this be caused by the eye drop medicine?
Last week i pulled out a full set of eyelashes with an eyelash curler. Will they grow back soon?

with an eyelash curler, my hand slipped, when i looked down at the curler half of my eyelashes were stuck to it, and i have to go to school like this :(
So I've had an extremely red eyelash line on my upper and lower eyelids for about 2 weeks. My eyes look very dark and 'saggy' on the eyelids, and the lower eyelash line has developed wrinkles. My skin itself has also gone very dull and dry, even when I use heavy duty moisturiser it doesn't do anything, seems to almost just sit on my skin and not absorb. Its really really effecting me emotionally as I can really see it and I have an almost ill, zombie looking complexion.
t seem to get through or break up and it gives me ghosting on lights and such. The ghosting moves with my eyelids. Like if I have a hair or eyelash in my eye, after I blink you can see the hair/eyelash sliding up my eye as if it were following the upper eyelid or something.
what happen if something got inside my eye like hair or eyelash and i couldn't get it out ?
RE no damage, LE OCT scans show 1 area or damage, moderate diagnosis. For 12 years I was stable on latanoprost. Last 2 years pressure keeps rising, tried different drops, ALT, recently cataract and stent surgery. I am 66, with another 20 years or so to live, wondering long term prognosis for disease today? Most studies I found were older, and indicated 10% risk of blindness.
