Along with it you can try over the counter antacids. However I would recommend you see a doctor and take medication under a doctor’s supervision. Avoid heavy meals and eat frequent small meals. Avoid too much of caffeine, tea, smoking, fried food and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic fuzzy ones. Avoid heavy exercises within 4 hours of a heavy meal. Raise the head end of the bed by pillows to 30 degrees. Take a late night snack and eat supper early.
However, does anyone have any advice on some home treatment or OTC medicine that I could use for this infection. This has been going on (off and on) for months, and this pain and burning is becoming unbearable. Also, several of my remaining teeth on that side has become loose. I have had teeth extracted in the past because of this problem. Thank you.
I have also noticed other symptoms working on me over the past 6months including - finding myself very tired to the point where i engage in day time sleep [this is not something i have ever done], very tight head aches up the left hand side of my head [near the back of my left ear - these can last for days], poor vision and burning feeling to my eyes, very painful neck, minor chest pain, lack of appetite [due to burning sensation in my throat] and tasteless sensation in my mouth.
Also I've been taking it since early second trimester and im now due in less than two weeks and still take it when I need it
I had my gallbladder removed and take antacids all the time, I would also like to know about this.
m back on Ranitidine as the side affects of Lansoprazole were unpleasant and just as bad or worse as the GERD. When I stopped taking Lansoprazole I had bad symptoms for a few days but they subsided. However since then my Acid Reflux / GERD has been more or less what it was before starting Lansoprazole. Some days its worse than others.
I've also read about the negative side effects of PPI drugs.

ve been taking Lansoprazole (Proton Pump Inhibitor) for about 2 weeks and the symptoms are only slightly better but no way near gone.

Hi I am a 28 year old male, and have been having hot flashes, extreme fatigue, muscle spasms, strained voice, breathing difficulties, abdominal discomfort, gurgling in my stomach, weakness, blurred vision for about 15 years or so. I have gone to my doctor and explained what my symptoms were and he gave me some blood tests, took some urine, and did an mri, and ekg but found nothing wrong. I then went to another doctor who also did some blood tests and found that I had a positive ANA.
Your son will need to take a combination of medications (under medical supervision) like a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole, lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals or H-2 blocker such as ranitidine for complete relief. Possibility of H pylori infection too should be looked into by a carbon urea breath test and a combination antibiotic tried.
Anyway, a month later, (yesterday) I was prescribed lansoprazole but I have done some research and it says lansoprazole can cause kidney failure. Should I take these tablets or wait till Friday and get a second opinion from the hospital on my assessment?
