Avatar f tn The levothyroxine has a long half-life within the blood and may also be withheld for 3 to 4 days without significant changes observed. The Januvia and blood pressure meds you shouldn’t mess around with, so the experiment may not be performed completely. . While you may think the diet has nothing to do with it, but I think investigating would be better than pure recall. You could try to make a log of things she eats and again try to make changes there depending on which foods seem suspect.

Do you have that as well? If not, I'd not necessarily associate light stools with pancreatic cancer. GERD is likely to cause yellow stools.
Avatar m tn What is the best exam to rule out Pancreatic Cancer? I´ve been expericieng some problems in the last month: my stools are different, vague low abdominal pain and vague back pains. I am very anxious. After read about Cancer Pancreatic I can´t put my mind at rest and started feeling minor itches. My doctor asked a ultrasound and some blood tests. After the results he said it is fine for Pancreas. But I have other problems: 2 stones in my gallblader and minor hepatic steatosis.
Avatar f tn I have a friend that is sick with pancreatic cancer I don't know what kind he has. I don't know if it's exocrine or endocrine but what I would like to know is what is the survival rate for individuals with this type of cancer. However age, race, gender all of that play a part.

Avatar m tn The exact cause of pancreatic cancer is unknown but it is more common in people with diabetes, people with long-term inflammation of the pancreas or smokers. Early symptoms of pancreatic cancer include dark urine and clay-colored stools, fatigue and weakness, jaundice or yellow color in the skin, mucous membranes, or eyes; loss of appetite, upper abdominal pain, weight loss and even nausea and vomiting.
Avatar m tn H Pylori thrives in low stomach acid and lowers stomach acid further. Low levels of stomach acid (stomach acid stimulates the pancreas to release enzymes to help with digestion just to add) can also cause malabsorption and floating stools. There are many possible symptoms from not enough stomach acid. My mother takes betaine HCL with pepsin supplements to increase stomach acid and digestive enzyme supplements to help with digestion. I'll send you a few article with more info.
Avatar f tn Constitutional symptoms such as unexplained weight loss, fevers, chills, and night sweats are always concerning and merit further workup to rule out cancer, infection, and/or other pathology.
5525494 tn?1369235489 I am also having upper and lower back pain. I have an ultrasound scheduled for next week. I had liver blood test done and all things were normal. My questions are: If it was pancreatic cancer, would there abnormal liver enzymes? If back pain was from pancreatic cancer, would there also be other symptoms like jaundice, weight loss, nausea/vomiting or can back pain alone be cause for concern?

1382010 tn?1279643604 These types of ascites are typically manifestations of advanced cancers of the organs in the abdominal cavity, such as, colon cancer, pancreatic cancer, stomach cancer, breast cancer, lymphoma, lung cancer, or ovarian cancer. Avatar n tn While it is uncommon to have concomitant cancer, there is a research from the University of Chicago Medicine that shows a strong link between pancreatic cancer and the BRCA2 mutation that plays a role in breast cancer. Avatar m tn Hello and hope you are doing well. Any structural abnormalities of the gall bladder like stones or polyps need surgical correction. The stones can chronically irritate the gall bladder wall and cause inflammation and pain. Also, this chronic irritation is a predisposing cause for gall bladder cancer. If the stone is placed in the neck of the gall bladder, it can cause retention of bile, with stasis and consequent infection. So, the best option would be to have an elective gall bladder removal.

Avatar m tn t understand why they would look only at the liver. The only way to truly diagnose pancreatic cancer is to go in and biopsy the pancreas. I'm not sure what sort of specialist did this but you need to find a surgeon that specializes in pancreatic cancer. I had to travel to Emory University to find a capable physician.

Avatar m tn After reading the article I have become obsessed with dying of pancreatic cancer. My doctors and gastro doctor all tell me that pancrease is fine, CT 2.5 year ago and MRI confirmed it recently. I spent countless hours reading these medical reports and I feel I know way too much. It's my fault and too late to erase all the facts. Any advice on how to get through this? My psychiatrist has me on Avitan & Zoloft, which I don't take.
