Hi, Pregnancy related allergy reaction are known and seen anytime in pregnancy. They present with lesions anywhere in the body and are relieved with end of pregnancy and anti-allergics. How are you doing now? Have you consulted an allergy specialist for your symptoms? Have you had any benefit from calamine lotion and antihistamine medications? This could be related to hormonal changes associated with the pregnancy and postpartum period.
What I started doing was taking lukewarm showers instead of hot, using Eucerin calming shower oil and then immediately after the shower lathering on tons and tons of Eucerin calming cream and letting it soak in for 5 minutes before rubbing it in. If you can, wait to put on clothes for a half hour or so until all the cream soaks in (I found that the cream acts as a barrier to the clothes, otherwise as my pants touch my legs the itching starts all over).

Ya know when you shave your legs and you do it too often and get little bumps, that or from a dull razor and you cut yourself in a few little spots where hair is? That's what my legs look like. I thought it may be dry skin, but it doesn't look that way. I thought it may be from a new body wash, but I stopped using it and I'm still itchy. Any advice??? I have hydrocortisone and I don't want to take benadryl.

Itchy skin is very normal during pregnancy, and will be even worse duringthis time of year due to the weather and temperature. I've been going threw it as well. I recommend the cocoa butter at least 3x a day and drinking at least 3-5 bottles of water a day.

I never had this b4 until about 6 months ago when I was in the latter stages of my pregnancy and now I am 3 months post pregnancy and still have it. I am perfectly healthy and do not have dry skin. She gave me steroidal cream to try but it doesn't work. This is an odd affliction and I hope we can all work together to find out the cause and find a cure. I am in my 25th week of pregnancy and am starting to suffer from really bad dry, itchy skin on lmy upper legs, mostly thighs and buttocks. Its so dry that the skin is cracked and leaving brown shaded marks where the skin has become very dry. Am using E45 cream wash and lotion, the past 3days which has helped soothe the itch but the dryness seems to be getting worse and spreading to my lower legs. Feels as if all the moisture in my skin has been sapped away. Help!
I don't know if it's from the cold weather or from pregnancy. Usually during winter my legs itch, but nothing else really. Now, it's my legs stomach, and breasts. It gets worst at night and when I wake up I find scatch marks on me not realizing I'm scatching myself. I do put lotion on and it really does that work that well. Is anyone else experiencing this??
No, honey, being itchy all the time is NOT normal in pregnancy, at all. Itching *without* a rash, especially in the third trimester, should raise red flags for your doctor--but if he or she is like most OBs, then he/she hears about it from patients sometimes but has no explanation and so just reassures you. Have you noticed certain times of day when the itching is worse? Certain activities that seem to exacerbate it? Where do you itch the most?
With my last baby, my legs swelled so much, I could barely walk, my legs were itchy and when you pressed on them it would leave an indent. I later found out that I had preclampsia (sp) This was around 8 months. I would get it checked. Better to be safe.
i have really bad itchy lower legs and have done for about 5 years now and it started when i was pregnant with my son who is now 5 years old. its a constant itch that i cant help but scratch :( its that bad that i scratch souch that my legs will start to bleed then scab over and some days are worse than others. it also happens at night where i just wake up just to scratch, when i do scratch so much dried skin falls of my legs its unreal.
I used to climb the rockwall at the gym and take cycle classes prior to becoming ill and now my legs are so weak I have a hard time standing very long. You say you ANA is high. What is the number and what pattern is it? That helps figure out what type of autoimmune you have.
I have the same problem, the first time i got them when i was 9 years old, I had 7 blisters on my left thigh, at first they looked like mosquito bites and they were so itchy, and they turned into blisters. And I have several marks in my feet and legs and right arm, And everytime I would have blisters I'd feel so sick, I feel like I have a fever and my legs or arms would feel so hot. And when they're about to heal, it gets itchier. I noticed that I'll just have them when it's around Spring-Fall.
