invega vs abilify

I have been taking invega sustenna (antipsychotic) injection every month for over a year now and since then have no semen coming out when I ejaculate and have no pleasure from the orgasm at all... could this be permanent?

2 weeks ago I made the switch to invega. I am currently drinking because of the voices , they have drove me to the brink of insanity. The voices I hear are my mom dad and sisters and girlfriend and they have led me to believe I have a chip in my head and the FBI and police have been reading my thoughts for the past 6 years. I just would like to know if there is anyone else out there with similar story's or anyone that could help. I can't live like this much longer.

I am without invega now for 2 days and placed on zyprexa taken so far 2 days. Can anyone tell me when I will feel better. I am exhausted, listless, get dizzy When standing and terrible nausea. No appetite. I also have ideas of reference in my Psychosis. High anxiety. He also put me on cogentin for uncontrollable muscle Movements of my tongue rubbing my teeth all day. This is day 3 and it's still happening. I guess it's a lot of mental strain changing all these meds at once.

most of the drugs like abilify , geodon, and invega have not combated the paranoia or delusional thoughts or the concentration so i was wondering if other drugs like adderall help at all?

Temporary movement disorders are common with (currently available) antipsychotics such including Invega. If you recieved permission from your psychiatrist to raise the dose ask them to prescribe a side effect pill that will help mitigate that those symptoms.

If Geodon worked better for you then you should be on that. Or Abilify if you haven't tried that. Invega is good but doesn't seem to be working for you. Your psychiatrist can sign you up for the drug company to give you the medication free through the Patient Assistance Program. Or if you have no coverage at all google "Medicaid Buy In For Working People with Disabilities" and see if your state has it. And if you meet the eligibility guidelines apply.

Well,I'm not on the Invega anymore.Seemed too strong for me.Now I'm on Lamictal,Seroquel,Xanax,and Propranolol.I just had my thyroid tested and I'm borderline Hyperthyroid.I have read that either Bipolar can cause Hyperthyroid,Hyperthyroid can cause Bipolar,or it just plain mimics Bipolar disorder.Now I have to make an appt with an endocrinologist to see what to do about this.Has anyone else heard of this before?

hey , i've found that some anti pychotics work in stabilizing the moods but ,the problem is the weight gain and impulsive eating , i'm actually due to see the shrink in a weeks time to see about Ablify and Invega , apparently from two of my friends you don't gain any weight on them so fingers crossed i might be put on one or the other , i don't seem to get any other side effects , except i don't go well on antidepressants for the obvious reasons .

My daughter, 27, now EX-grad student is in the midst of a months long episode. She is dxed Bi-Polar w/schizoaffective. She was doing great on abilify for 6 years, 3.85 grad student. She became inconsistant with her meds, ya know the "I'm fine, what do I need this stuff for" deal. She lost it early Oct and we can't seem to get her back. Major delusions, "the embodiment of heaven" and the like. Been 1013ed (forced commitment) twice in 2 months.

As you will know Seroquel is a very calming anti psychotic, whereas Invega is quite agitating, I think by dropping the Invega you will have a lot less side effects ( fingers crossed ) You might feel quite drowsy for a few weeks because of the Seroquel but the extra 50mg he has given you isn't going to be too harsh, my doc usually increases my Seroquel by 100mg. With it being the XR version as well, you will have less drowsiness.

Hi 7 months ago i was given a drug called invega that is time released and i was instructed to cut it n half and take it wich almost killed me. This drug is known for causing arythmias by prolongation of the QT interval. I have since stoped taking the invega. I dont take any drug, not even asprin.

but I have read Invega may cause thyroid issues. If this is so, is it reversible once you stop taking Invega? I'm very concerned! Please help.

I started to take invega because risperidone was making me gain a lot of weight. I changed but I can't lose that weight. I was already taking sertraline I still take it. I stopped having my period when on invega and Pregnancy is not on the table already done the test. Can anyone help me?

I am on wellbutrin,klonopin,depakote, invega and ambien. I stopped invega due to pdoc but see him on monday. Nerves get out of control for me a lot of the time like daily. Hello I am a 21 year old male I have been taking medicine since about 17 or 18 and been diagnosed with schizophrenia at age 19 I have been taking invega sustenna since august 2020. I stopped for a month or two then resumed up until now. I took the 156 mg most of the time then the 234 for a few months back to 156 down to 117 mg.

HEy guys Ive been on lamictal for a while now and invega and ive been doing pretty good, Id say about 70 percent of where I feel I should be. I still feel a lil sad at times but overall Im in a constructive mindset. My therapis talked about adding an anti depressent in the future if I want so im wondering which one works for yall? I dont want one with sexual side effects(negative) she recommended wellbutrin. How should I feel on this if I decide to take it?

Is there a general doctor you could go to? It is better than nothing. If you do some research as to the different medications you can try and go in with a suggestion that will help a lot. There are a lot of atypical antipsychotics such as risperadol, invega, you've tried seroquel, geodone, ziprexa (although weight gain and cost are a factor) and abilify (cost may be a factor). There are also the mood stabilizers such as lamotrigine and depakote that may be useful.

You are on a lot of meds. I was like that yrs. ago; way overmedicated and way overweight. I'm now down to 2 antidepressants and 1 mood stabilizer. (I am also a rapid cycler). Everybody is different and responds to medication differently. The best and most all-around useful mood stabilizer for me has been Topamax. It is an anti-convulsant, also indicated for propylaxis of migraines (which I also have). The great side effect, if you're overweight, is WEIGHT LOSS. Be careful, though.
