I have a small bump that developed under my index finger ( on the palm side ), it is positioned just above my highest joint, when it first developed it was very hard to see because it was flesh colored. It has grown more white colored, and gradually more noticable. when i pull my finger back, it is very noticable, as it appears round and white. It is also very flat. It is not really irritating either, it is not itchy. I was thinking it could be a wart, but I am not sure.
There is a small nodule found at the distal end, towards the base of my right index finger. It started growing and now it is around 5 or 6 mm size. It is movable and firm, i suppose with no pain, only mild pain during pressure. no problem to use my hand for writing or others. could it be a lipoma? will lipoma occur there? any reason to worry?
specifically, the two finger joints of the pinky, the top joint of the ring finger, the central joint of the middle finger and sometimes the knuckle and central joint of the index finger. My thumb's central joint can be popped but causes no pain or tightness.
Pressing my hand flat on a surface and forcing it to remain there causes tightness at the wrist and I can feel what can only be described as a 'spring effect' at the knuckles when I release.
Around 2 months ago, I noticed a sort of raised lump/bump on my right index finger (middle knuckle area).. At first I thought it may have been a spot or blister or something, but when i tried to burst it with a pin, it was just skin.. raised bump/lump with no fluids, just skin...
Anyway, I went to the docs, he said it was probably a wart.. He wouldnt freeze it off for me so I got some over the counter stuff..
Literally overnight, I developed a hard nodule under my middle finger on the palm, and my finger started snapping into place and being stiff after waking in the morning. Some days the pain is pretty bad and other days it's hardly there. It is my right hand and I am right-handed. Is surgery the only option to correct this problem? I can't imagine being without my right hand. Thanks for your advice.
I injured my thumb right after Thanksgiving and was initially diagnosed with a sprain. The worst pain was at the joint farthest from my wrist. New Year's Eve I was diagnosed with trigger thumb and prescribed 8 physical therapy sessions. (The tendon at the base of the thumb is noticeably thick) I had little to no improvement after the PT (over a 4 week period) and sought a second opinion.
I took a puck off of my right index finger and didn't really notice any immediate pain. Over the next couple days I noticed that I couldn't form a fist because my finger was very swollen and hurt to bend that far. Upon further observation I noticed that my first finger knuckle had become very wide, but the rest of my finger remained regular size. It is also very sensitive to touch.
I am having hand weakness in both hands but the pain in my joints of my left index finger and pinky the most. The main knuckle of my index finger constantly feels pain like a sharp stabbing or too cold or hot sensation like a toothache. I have not tested positive for RA but it seems like the symptoms I have most align with that. The findings of my MRI are as follows:
There is diffuse disc desiccation and mild disk height throughout the cervical spine with relative sparing at C2-3.
Back in March I was holding a little girl that was standing on my lap and she lost her balance and squatted down. My hand was behind her knee and my right index finger popped and then hurt really bad for awhile. I assumed it would go away and it didn't. A few days later I went to urgent care. They took x-rays and saw nothing and told me to take ibuprofen and continue to use it like normal.
I am a 56 years old female and in relatively good health. I take one medication for hbp. Recently the middle joints of my little fingers are very tender, red and tend to be very itchy, if that makes any sense and I've also begun noticing some tiny red nodules at the first joint of my index fingers and little fingers. Some times the nodules are a little more pronouced than other times.
I had surgery the following day and had 2 pins inserted into my index finger. I had those pins in my index finger for 4 weeks (just had them removed on 1/10/11).
I haven't been able to move that index finger for 4 weeks since the pins were still in there, as any movement in that finger caused extreme pain...but now my index finger seems to be stuck in that same position (slightly curved, as if holding a cup).
My index finger has chronic pain when it is exposed to cold temps. or if my circulation is lessened in that arm. It's just that finger and only at the finger nail, cuticle area. The feeling is similar to getting it smashed into something. Also, when no pain is present, if I hit it ever so slightly on something, it might as well have been smashed in a door, the feeling would be the same!
During foreplay with my partner, I used my middle finger to stimulate my partner but am worried that with my index finger in close proximity to the vagina, a pregnancy is possible? If a finger that came into contact (actually touched vs grazed) with the wet spot on my jeans cause a pregnancy after stimulating my partner?
Arthritis?? Have skiers thumb for about a month. Woke up in morning and index finger on my dominant right hand was swollen and painful when bending. Does arthritis have flare ups or is this permanent..I have a history of psorasis and was wondering if it could be psoriatic arthritis?? Should I keep it exercise or immobilized??
