Ccurrently I take between 3-6 nurofen plus a day. It began with my job which is very stressful at times. O would get constant headaches at work and found this was the only thing which helped. I never take anymore than 3-6 as I'm so worried about my liver and kidneys. I've decided to wean myself off, whether I go cold turkey is amother thing. So today I havent taken any nurofen plus.

I just purchased 200 mg ibuprofen/12.8 mg codeine (package of 96) online from a drugstore. It said it was an over the counter drug and I want to make sure I'm not doing anything illegal. Does anyone know if this is okay to purchase online? I live in Florida and sure don't want to end up in trouble over something so minor. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!!

My Husband consumes a lot of Nurofen plus (supposedly for back pain) he has done for the past 5 years. The last few weeks more so - he has done for a while, he will vomitt. He use to onne in a blue moon, but recently it is more frequent. He can have a few beers and then vomitt, consume his dinner and then vomitt. He doesnt feel ill, he gets that watery sensation in his mouth just before you vomitt and then off he goes. Im convinced he has stomach ulcers??

Nurofen plus , now that will give you a high it has codeine in it and cause you can eat alot of them as opposed to panadiene with paracetemol in it ( i think americans call it acetemophen ),, providing you have food with it, yea it will give you quite a buzz, thats my experience. Ibuprofen like the last poster said , by itself will not do much at all. except take some pain away especialy if its accociated with inflamation. but can work well for headaches.

If all you say above is correct, then I'm sorry, you are killing yourself, and quickly. What worries me even more than the various opiates is the amount of Nurofen you are taking. The maximum dose is 3 x 600mg per day. Ibuprofen (the main constituent of Nurofen) is a strong acid, and I'm amazed you haven't burned a hole in your stomach yet. In that kind of quantity they could also cause liver or kidney damage.

Hello - this was me about 6/7 years ago. I don't want to scare u but I developed three stomach ulcers bcz of the ibuprofen. Pure codeine is 'safer' in that respect. I'm not saying it's safe to binge on codeine but jus making you aware that u must protect ur stomach - keep that in mind cz ulcers r extremely painful and dangerous. Good luck with ur taper tho - make sure u stick with it until it gets too late like it did for me..

The thing that is most dangerous about nurofen plus (besides the addictiveness of codine) is the ibuprofen...taken for a long period of time can cause stomach ulcers...and can perforate the lining of your stomach and can cause death. Go see your doctor...tell him/her about what's happening and they will be able to help you.

Monday i started having severe pain in my pain arms and legs some of my joints and i felt cramped all the time.So i bought the ibuprofen gel for pain and it did not work.The day after i started having chest pains and i could not breathe properly. I felt like i had hot flashes or a hot bubble in my chest.Yesterday i was feeling much better but i had a serious migraine.

Hang in there. I was taking the same thing when I was living in NZ and I was able to taper off pretty successfully and semi-quickly. Just be firm with yourself. The good news is the withdrawal isn't as bad as with oxy, but it's still going to suck... Please do this though - if you're taking the kind of n+ with 200mg ibuprofen per pill, it's really going to do a number on your body over time... Best of luck.

I really don't see how that's possible it's made up from codeine and ibuprofen. I do no that prolonged use or abusing the drug can damage the stomach, for which they make another drug to protect the stomach now. Of course because of the codeine it can be very addictive if abused, be careful opiates are a nightmare to get off!!

Please let me inform you more about whats happening, so Nurofen plus is an over the counter medication that contains Ibuprofen 200mg and codeine phosphate 12.8mg. I started on these little evils about 5 years ago when i was going through a divorce. I wish i could say i was naieve but i knew exactly that codeine would give me a bit of an escape. It has performed that function but not long after i started taking them i started to abuse it.

nurofen plus had codeine in it, and opiates can fool you into thinking you have pain so you take more of them, then when you do take more, the opiate increases the pain, WHY so you take more, sneaky ******* things they can be.Some people are on high dose morphene for years and when they stop the pain goes. Hmm strange addiction though, i would have gone in my earlier days for panadiene 15, had 15mg codiene take eight of those and its real nice.

These pills are a combination of ibuprofen 200mg and codeine phosphate 12.8mg. I am aware of the seriousness of taking this much ibuprofen. I mainly take the pills during the working week and then take very little on the weekend, just enough to stop the bad withdrawal symptoms. My testicles have since tightened up and no longer hang in there old relaxed state. Ibuprofen and nurofen have no effect. My lower abdominal wall is stiff and sore all the time from my testy pain. I also get a sore lower back.

Ive been taking nurofen plus for about 8 years (to non-uk readers it contains 12.5mg of codeine along with 200mg of ibuprofen), its so easy to get especially were I live, the same 3 chemists serve me consistantly. Currently im taking 62 a day split into 2 box's of 32, i've given up once for a few months and then I was bored one day and thought that just a box wouldn't hurt and now im back addicted again (this was a few years ago).

Got sick of all the tummy issues with taking that much ibuprofen so went to the docs and have now been prescribed codeine phosphate for the past 6 years..

I've never used orajel for that reason. We aren't even allowed to use it at the daycare with a doctors note. I've never tried teething tablets because they seem like they wouldn't do anything and could be a choking hazard. I give my children Tylenol or Ibuprofen for teething but you can't use ibuprofen if they are under 6 months.

It started with getting prescribed cocodamol 30/500 for migraines, the tablets didn't help the migraines but of course I liked the calm, relaxed feeling they gave me. After a while the doctor stopped prescribing them and I stared to buy over the counter codeine products, usually nurofen plus and sometimes solpadeine max.

Not really any difference. Vicoprofen has Ibuprofen with the Hydrocodone. Vicodin has Tylenol. Strength would be the same if they both were the same dose.
