Ibuprofen vs excedrin

Common Questions and Answers about Ibuprofen vs excedrin

ibuprofen

Avatar n tn No, do not take Excedrin Tension Headache or Ibuprofen (Advil, Motion) when trying to conceive. Do not take it before, during or after ovulation. During your period may be permissable. Tylenol is OK to take.
Avatar n tn I'm a 44 year old woman and I've been taking Excedrin (without aspirin) every day for 15 years now...I've taken up to 8-10 a day at times and then I started taking Excedrin PM every night after my husband passed away 9 years ago. Will this cause serious harm to my liver or kidneys?
Avatar f tn I have always used products that contain codeine for my migraines such as paracetamol/codeine, ibuprofen/codeine, paracetamol/doxylamine/codeine etc. Do other people use these types of meds? Why do you use them? Is it because you find they work better than meds without codeine? Advertising on the pack/tv? Advice from health professional/friend? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Ive been havin KILLER headaches for about 3 days know cant even sleep well because of the hradaches. I have taken tylenol ibuprofen n excedrin but i dnt know wat else helps n since im 7 weeks pregnant i dont know if sumthin i take might affect the baby... Pkesae help i'm hueting soo bad...
Avatar f tn Tylenol and Excedrin TENSION is safe. The other kinds of Excedrin are not. Tylenol does nothing for my headaches so I had to find something else.
Avatar n tn I would like to know how much excedrin sinus (aceteminophen 325mg and phenyleprine HCI 5mg) a dehydrated 120 pound female would have to take in order to have it show up in a positive drug screen for MDMA or Ectasy?
Avatar f tn Dont get the norco thats definitely a HUGE step n the wrong direction(ESPECIALLY since ur getting off the meth). Also as crazy as it might sound excedrin works better4pms symptoms(cramps, lack of energy, period headaches etc)way better than norco(I know Ive tried them all n the past(lortab, lorcet, vikes, oxycodone, norco, all OTC PMS+pain killers excedrin works best even10X better than the PMS specific pills).Ur an addict why would u torture urself w/han available script of opiates?
620877 tn?1282764097 I know that some of you may take ibuprofen when taking a DMD to help with the flu like side effects - but what I am wondering is for those who are undiagnosed or not taking a DMD - can ibuprofen help with symptoms? I stay away from ibuprofen because of my acid reflux - but have taken it a few times when tylenol just doesn't seem to help my headaches. I have noticed that the ibuprofen helps.
Avatar m tn The tramadol will cause a headache or make the one you've got worse. Try excedrin - caffeine might make sleeping tough tonight, but it should help w/the headache. You'll just need to try and catch some extra zz's tomorrow.
Avatar f tn I wake up with a headache, and I take 800 mg of ibuprofen with 2-3 cups of coffee. The pain subsides but comes back sometime in the middle of the day or early evening. At that time I take two Excedrin and have another cup of coffee. Before going to bed at night, the pain is usually back, but it's too early to take more Excedrin so I have another cup of coffee and another 800 mg of ibuprofen.
Avatar f tn Tylenol only unfortunately. I miss taking ibuprofen. It works way better than Tylenol. But also was told Tylenol pm in moderation if you can't sleep. I do have to say it helps me when I'm feeling restless and achy. Hope you find some relief.
1742269 tn?1315381633 I had to revert back to taking excedrin because i have not had much success with this product, except for when my jaw, TMJ, is acting up.
127124 tn?1326735435 I took 1000mg of ibuprofen at noon today and it did nothing. I really want to put my head on my desk and take a nap.
Avatar f tn s very rare for even a severe addict to abuse these things.....they do help with sleep. excedrin also helps...no need to get excedrin migraine because it has the same things in it as regular excedrin but it costs more. hydrocodone and tramadol are very very poor drugs for treating migraines. they really should only be used when nothing else works...and even then they are unlikely to have any effect. have you already tried triptans? i mentioned midrin might help...
950394 tn?1261347338 I am Stage 1 Grade 1 and can take pretty much anything. I have tried Motrin, Extra Strength Tylenol, Excedrin and Aleve for the headaches I get from treatment. None of those worked, so I use Tramadol, a prescription. The condition of your liver is the key to what the real answer to this question is. Your doctor can best answer it. Good luck.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me that the only over-the counter medication I can take while pregnant is Tylenol...anything else like ibuprofen, aleve, excedrin, etc. Is bad for the baby. Hope that helps you & your migraine goes away quickly!
Avatar n tn Headaches can be normal. People who had them before pregnancy can get them especially bad. Don't take ibuprofen because it thins the blood, but acetaminophen (Tylenol) is on the safe list.
Avatar f tn m 9 wks and I usually take extra strength ibuprofen or excedrin migraine.....I had a debilitating migraine last night. Took the Tylenol and it only got worse. I was a hot mess in the bed until now at 5am. Smh.... what are some remedies I can try next time? omg I really thought my head was going to explode or something..
5900973 tn?1396064391 Do not take ibuprofen. Double check just by calling the office. Tylonal can be aspirin free and is what youre supposed to take. Excedrin is what has aspirin in it..
Avatar f tn Try excedrin - it's one of the stronger OTC pain meds and it helped enormously for my headaches. And the body aches. And I took it in the morning so the caffeine in this med helped to get me going for the day. And I made sure I took it only in the morning so it wouldn't affect my sleep. Might be worth a shot? :) p.s. and i agree with soaddicted, hot baths, and sitting in a dark room also helps alot!
Avatar f tn s excedrin migraine (my doctor told me to take excedrin and then ibuprofen 2 hours later on the really bad days). It's a trial and error process unfortunately! Take care!
Avatar n tn Yes, Excedrin is Acetaminophen 250mg., Aspirin 250mg., and caffeine 65mg. Excedrin Migraine is the same formula (from what I have seen). I'm not sure why they put another label on it that says "migraine" when it is the same thing as regular Excedrin. Don't get me wrong, I think Excedrin is the best OTC pain reliever but for actual migraines....they don't touch them. At least for me.
Avatar f tn I still get them ocassionaly but nothing like the first month, so it does get better. Excedrin and a cold rag on my head worked best for me. I hope you get to feeling better.
Avatar f tn Headache on left front side with a crazy visual aura, took zomig, hour later took ibuprofen 600, albuterol sulfate and Ritalin. Cold and hot feeling across skin, mostly on right side, nausea, joint pain, burning pain in abdomen and chest, dizzy, tired and short of breath. Migrating sharp pains across body. Ringing ears. Vision is unnaturally blurry. Chest and stomach symptoms worsen when laying down, head symptoms worsen when standing up.
Avatar f tn Try taking Excedrin Tension Headache, since you've only been taking aspirin, this should help. You can also speak with a pharmacist, although it is Memorial Day.
Avatar f tn That is, until mom and I observed that I needed to take medication within 30 minutes of headache onset. For me even aspirin worked back in the days before ibuprofen, but I also had a lot of nose bleeds, probably because of all the aspirin. But it was worth that problem to turn the headache off before it got started and avoid all that nausea and vomiting. Even though the migraine got better about 5 minutes after I vomited, the spike in pain was just awful when I vomited.
