Hello! You can take proton pump inhibitors on empty stomach to decrease the gastric symptoms and also take antacids after food. Always take anti inflammatory medications after food. For an adult maximum dose per day is till 3 gms again this depends on weight of the individual. Take care!
These days if I take one it's Celebrex which is safe in terms of a lesser chance of stomach problems (it’s only the prescription anti-inflammatory I’d take on an empty stomach) but for some reason I don't feel much of a benefit from it these days but I have in the past when taking it before going to sleep in terms of reducing morning stiffness and pain.
Last night, feeling a tension headache coming on, I took an 800 mg Motrin on a relatively empty stomach, but was soon going to dinner. Approx 30 minutes after taking Motrin, I got an itchy throat starting wheezing and coughing. The wheezing and coughing got much worse and my throat began to feel as it was closing up. I developed hives on my neck and torso and my eyelids began to swell. After taking 2 benadryl my symptoms began to subside.
Nobody told me not to take them, just to not swallow ANYTHING in those 12 hours prior to surgery. Stomach must be completely empty for a successful surgery. Clear liquids are juices like apple or cranberry juice, but NOT orange juice (it has pulp). Other clear liquids are water, soda, Gatorade/athletic drinks. No milk or cream or any other liquids that coat a glass or that you cannot see through, that have fruit pulp or dairy or cream in them.
The secret is really eating less carbs and taking it WITH food or immediately AFTER your meal. If you take it before your meal or with an empty stomach, you will be nauseous. Oh..another side effect: diarrhea. Again, cut the carbs. I had too for the first 2-3 weeks. Then I re-introduced good carbs back into my diet. Keeping fingers and toes crossed for you on this 2WW!
hi guys. tested this morning at 13dpo and BFN. I knew i shouldnt have tested as i have had no symptoms at all. A/F due Tues. Next month i have decided to BD as much as possible rather than during the fertile bit. I think something is going on with my cycles. For the last 2 months i havent had O pains. I must admit i am feeling sad this month. Xmas is such a tough time when little kiddies run around everywhere looking so adorable. At least i have you guys to vent to :).
What happens when you eat is that the upper sac fills up 1st and then it slowly cascades over into the lower part of the stomach, the difference between a cascade stomach and an hour glass stomach is that the upper sac is devoid if tonicity like that of a flaccid sac, the lumen outline of the upper sac with also be thin and therefore does not carry the same protection against acids as a normal stomach.
My stomach also feels and appears to be bloated and yet, it also feels like it's empty at times. I also have been feeling a bit nauseous; I keep hearing growling too. I haven't had any problems with stools though. And I have a terrible appetite ever since. After I eat, the pain seems like indigestion and seems worse during the night time than during the day and morning. Could someone please help? Thank you so much.
well in early september i had a accident where i fractured my shoulder and whent through surgery i was on ibuprofen 800mg i was going through a very tough time wheni had my acident so i played stupid and started taking the ibuprofen on empty stomach some times even with alochol and i was eating very little during the day and drinking and partying hard..well after this i developed hronic diarrhea witch i still have i o from 3 to 5 times a day have had blood tests.
I was diagnosed by an EGD with some gastritis and wine can really cause a flare up...red a little more than white & worse on an empty stomach. Worried I might be allergic since I get very flushed from it, again red more than white but this does not happen with other alcohol so I'm trying to narrow it down but I do enjoy mt wine.
This was accompanied by nausea and diarrhea. I also vomited what I think was bile -- dark green liquid despite an empty stomach. I continue to have weekly attacks of this type, but less severe -- cramping around the navel accompanied by loose stool. My bowel habits have changed such that I now go about 3-4 times a day as opposed to once before all this began. I had a gastroscopy; everything seemed fine visually, but I have yet to get the biopsy results. Any suggestions? Thanks, Keyte.

This happened to me when I had a molar pregnancy. They are more common the older you get. I had the sac and nothing inside. My hcg's went extremely high and ended up around 500,000 before they did a d&c. When I went in at 7 weeks they just saw the empty sac. Then at 10 weeks I had another sono and the sac was filled with growths and so they had to do an immediate d&c. It is something you might want to read up on just in case. My doctor hadn't seen one before so wasn't quick to catch it.
This must have got compounded with the ibuprofen he is taking for pain relief. This must have caused severe acidity. Let me take omeprazole empty stomach in the morning and antacid gels 2-3 times in the day. Let him eat frequent small meals and drink sips of cold water and cold milk. He should avoid carbonated drinks, alcohol, smoking, spicy and oily food. If these tips help him, then he must consult a doctor regarding pain medication. Pain in psoriasis can be due to psoriatic arthritis.
For the past few months, if I go out first thing in the morning with an empty stomach and run 5.5 miles up and down a fairly steep slope, then swim for half an hour, my stomach will churn for hours afterward. If I drink a quart of water beforehand and 20 ounces of water toward the end of the run, I am usually OK. What bothers me is that I have been doing my exercise routine for more than 5 years without this ever happening before.
I try to squeeze it out and only a hard stool comes out. 5. The sweating stops and the stomach cramp subsides. I think everything is over and I clean up. I walk out of the toilet and in about 2 minutes time the stomach cramp and the fainting sensation comes back (I've fainted only once to date from this and was out for about 15-20 minutes). 6. When I get back to the toilet I have a really violent Diarrhoea episode in pure liquid state.
A week ago, I drank way too much on an empty stomach and threw up ‘coffee ground’ like vomit My doc has chalked this all up to the fact that I was taking aspirin quite heavily for a week because of tooth pain. Additionally, she thinks the bright red blood could be from hemorrhoids. I have since researched the side effects and these are all possible side effects. I have since found out that I really shouldn’t take aspirin and ibuprofen (which I use) not only that week.
But no matter how much I drink I am thirsty and if I drink water on an empty stomach I become severely nauseous! I don't know what to do. Right now I have a headache, my stomach is gurgling. I have had some small, solid, bowel movements today and threw a tiny bit up. I have been dizzy and very nauseous all day. CAN ANYONE HELP ME?!
Raise the head end of the bed by pillows to 30 degrees. Go to bed at least 2 hours after food. Never take ibuprofen empty stomach. There are many other pain killers that do not cause gastric irritation like diclofenac and some cox-2 inhibitors. You can ask your doctor about them. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Make sure you have something to eat before you take it though(even just a biscuit or piece of fruit)because taken on an empty stomach it can damage your stomach lining.
Try giving her a frozen washrag to chew on. You don't want to give her ibprophen unless she has a fever from teething.
I did some research on ulcers and found that they tend to be most painful when you have an empty stomach. The pain did seem greater when I was on a empty stomach. But if this is an ulcer I'm confused. I'm confused because I don't smoke, or drink, and I did take some Ibuprofen for pain like 6 months ago. It was only for like a week. So I doubt it was the Ibuprofen but I have been under a lot of stress.
If this does not help then one can take ibuprofen or diclofenac. However, medication should not be taken empty stomach and without asking your family doctor. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.
Don't stress out too much. Unexpected pregnancy is scary no matter how old you are. There's a lot of worry and concern that comes with being pregnant, especially if it's your first time. Don't take ibuprofin or aspirin. They can cut off blood flow/oxygen to your baby. Look into getting prenatal vitamins and take them daily. Start doing slight stretching/exercising more often. Walking is a great thing to do when pregnant, it makes labor a lot easier.
As a follow-on, always take aspirin (and for sure Advil) with food, never on an empty stomach.
when i first got my wisdom teeth out and was taking the vicodin i took at on an empty stomach and got sick(i think this is how the clot was dislodged) ever since then my doctor has called it a dry socket and has been packing it for pain. even with the packing and the painkillers the and is keeping me away from doing a lot of things and sleeping is especially hard for some reason and especially painful. i dont know what to do.
caffeine, alcohol, smoking, spicy foods, raw vegetables that promote gas, anti-inflamatories like aspirin, ibuprofen on an empty stomach, etc...) is very, very important while you are having episodes of IBS. In your case? Because I believe your doctors scared you to death at the mention of cancer? Do something to change your way of thinking. Yoga, exercise, enjoying good books in the park...
I would suggest, since you're not getting anywhere, to switch approaches away from medication to DGL, aloe vera juice, slippery elm, enteric coated peppermint oil caps, eating small meals through the day so you don't have an empty stomach, avoid dairy and wheat, don't lie down soon after eating and see if you notice improvement. Take a refrigerated probiotic that has bifidus in it, both to replenish what the antibiotic has killed off and for digestion.
