531005 tn?1286515532 I did some research on ulcers and found that they tend to be most painful when you have an empty stomach. The pain did seem greater when I was on a empty stomach. But if this is an ulcer I'm confused. I'm confused because I don't smoke, or drink, and I did take some Ibuprofen for pain like 6 months ago. It was only for like a week. So I doubt it was the Ibuprofen but I have been under a lot of stress.
Avatar m tn I have been vomiting and my stomach hurts a lot I feel bloated.
Avatar f tn Its 1:30 AM and I've just woken up because my stomach feels empty, empty tothe point where I'm nauseus and have almost vomitted. This isnt the first time this has happened either. Is this normal? Im nine weeks.
Avatar n tn Try giving her a frozen washrag to chew on. You don't want to give her ibprophen unless she has a fever from teething.
Avatar f tn Make sure you have something to eat before you take it though(even just a biscuit or piece of fruit)because taken on an empty stomach it can damage your stomach lining.
Avatar n tn NSAIDs are tough on our delicate linings - so be cautious. Never take a NSAID on an empty stomach. Be sure your physicians watches your organ functions - through frequent labs (blood draws). I hope we've been helpful. If you have additional questions or you need more clarification please let us know.
Avatar f tn As a follow-on, always take aspirin (and for sure Advil) with food, never on an empty stomach.
Avatar f tn Hello All, I'm here to see if anyone has had a similar experience. I am under the care of a doctor but am at a loss. I'm a 30 year old woman...A little overweight but I run and have been losing weight. I've always been a relatively healthy individual. Earlier this year I had an injury and was in between insurance so I took a long cycle of Aspirin and Ibuprofen for the pain. About that time I noticed I got some icky nausea when I would eat.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed by an EGD with some gastritis and wine can really cause a flare up...red a little more than white & worse on an empty stomach. Worried I might be allergic since I get very flushed from it, again red more than white but this does not happen with other alcohol so I'm trying to narrow it down but I do enjoy mt wine.
Avatar f tn Don't stress out too much. Unexpected pregnancy is scary no matter how old you are. There's a lot of worry and concern that comes with being pregnant, especially if it's your first time. Don't take ibuprofin or aspirin. They can cut off blood flow/oxygen to your baby. Look into getting prenatal vitamins and take them daily. Start doing slight stretching/exercising more often. Walking is a great thing to do when pregnant, it makes labor a lot easier.
Avatar f tn In any case, always be sure to eat something when taking Advil, Motrin, Ibuprofen. It will cause erosion of the lining of the stomach of taken on an empty stomach. If you have an ulcer, you need calcium and could use the pink peptobismol for relief of the burning sensaiton.

Avatar f tn Because they suppress stomach acid, the stomach will produce more acid, causing a rebound effect. It has to do this because the stomach must have acid to digest minerals and protein. Assuming your h.pylori test is accurate, it doesn't appear you have an ulcer, at least according to this year's medicinal orthodoxy.
Avatar m tn caffeine, alcohol, smoking, spicy foods, raw vegetables that promote gas, anti-inflamatories like aspirin, ibuprofen on an empty stomach, etc...) is very, very important while you are having episodes of IBS. In your case? Because I believe your doctors scared you to death at the mention of cancer? Do something to change your way of thinking. Yoga, exercise, enjoying good books in the park...

1148241 tn?1294052796 I recently quit taking Vicodin for my joint pain because I was concerned about liver damage. I have been taking Ibuprofen instead. I've been taking two in the morning and then two in the afternoon. It says don't take longer than 10 days though. I have to take something though. My knees and wrists and fingers hurt too much if I don't. I know you guys aren't Drs but experience counts for something if its what your Dr has told you. What do you guys take?
Avatar f tn You need to tell someone now. Is there anyone at home with you? Please get to a doctor or ER and make sure you tell them exactly what you took. There are more appropriate drugs available to help induce sleep, both over the counter and by prescription. Talk to an adult soon. Please... Post an update please.
Avatar n tn My 7 year old daughter has been suffering from chest pains for the past 4 months. I can dismiss acid reflux and stress/anxiety. She is now experiencing back pain too. I have tried osteopathy, and although they recognise a significant tightness in her chest they are unable to relieve the pain. Her chest x-ray and ultrasound are clear. I am now awaiting blood test results that may or may not point to a virus of some kind.
Avatar m tn What happens when you eat is that the upper sac fills up 1st and then it slowly cascades over into the lower part of the stomach, the difference between a cascade stomach and an hour glass stomach is that the upper sac is devoid if tonicity like that of a flaccid sac, the lumen outline of the upper sac with also be thin and therefore does not carry the same protection against acids as a normal stomach.
1729448 tn?1342094737 t any better then im going to have another endoscopy to find out if the h pylori ended up going away after one treatment or if theres something else wrong. my and the doctors worry is that the ibuprofen is irritating my stomach, but so is my ear so i have to get that out of the way before she can do anything. my close friend had the exact same ear issue and maybe 3/4 of the way through the treatment she was in the hospital because the medicine burned a hole in her stomach...
Avatar f tn You have probably damaged the mucosa of the stomach and intestine with the high dose of Ibuprofen. You need to take a full course of antacid and proton pump inhibitor such as Omeprazole (empty stomach in the morning). Lactobacillus preparations and probiotics may help also. Avoid fuzzy drinks, hot spicy food, coffee, tea, alcohol and smoking. You need to consult a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system). Hope this helps.
