Babies can not take ibuprofen but I was given it with my pain killers after delivery while breastfeeding. Did they not give you and loratab or Percocet after you delivered or did you run out. Normally that helps.

Doctors in my area prescribe 800 mg of ibuprofen unless you have had a csection and then they also prescribe percoset which I never noticed affected either of my first 2 kids but only took for a little over a week.

Oh just re-read your question and honestly I don't know. I do know you can take ibuprofen while breastfeeding and you can take tylenol and ibuprofen together. So if you have ibuprofen I'd take that.

I just had my daughter the 17th but i decided to start breastfeeding today bc shes not liking bottles and latches on my breast really good. But they are giving me motrin and percaset for pain and they said its safe to breastfeed while taking these meds, but its making me nervous anyone else taking these while breastfeeding? & does anyone else know how safe this is for my baby.

I was taking tramadol and ibuprofen that my doctor prescribed me after i came home she knew i was only going to breastfeed, i did research and they were ok to take while breastfeeding.

Then weigh the pros and cons and make an educated decision. And you can always fill the Rx and just hold on to it in case regular Tylenol doesn't help.

I was told weaning will still,make u produce and make it more painful. They just told me round the clock tylenol and ibuprofen would help,dry it up, no more than 4000 mg i believe, or limit on the bottle. And ice packs.

For me, i breastfed for about 2 weeks and then got mastitis and stopped producing enough milk. I stopped breastfeeding and I was engorged and in pain for like 2-3 days and then it didn't hurt anymore after that! You do what you want.

While I was in hospital I was taking percocet and Motrin for pain and I was sent home with oxycodone and ibuprofen. I am strictly breastfeeding. While in the hospital only my colostrum was coming out.. now my milk has come in and I'm thinking that the pain meds are in my milk bc every time my baby eats he is knocked out cold after only eating for a few minutes, nothing wakes him except a diaper change.. he wakes up to eat again and then will go right back to sleep.

I didn't have bleeding or pai n after but my last one was so painful going in, coming out, and pretty well the whole time in. I was crying and everything the nurses didn't even believe me at first and kept saying i shouldn't feel it all. They took it out and redid it two or three times before giving up and leaving it in. It was awful. I had a catheter with all of mine bc I had an epidural with them all and that was the only one that hurt.

If you were my patient, I would be concerned about a possible plugged milk duct, or a breast cyst. I would suggest trying some Ibuprofen and perhaps heat packing the area, but if the pain persists more than 24 hours, probably best to see your doctor. Good luck!

says and see if the medication he may or may not give you is safe will breastfeeding. Use ice or cold pack for pain and if you can take ibuprofen for swelling. It is hard to know what this is until someone sees it. Is it bleeding, cracked? Do you see any reddened areas? How long have you been breastfeeding and how often do you feed?

Hi I have a massive period ache , therefore I took 1100 mg of ibuprofen . At first I had taken 500 mg tablet but it's been an hour and a half and it did not help , so I took an other tablet of ibuprofen of 600 mg . The pain is gone but I feel very tired , can I be harmed or die out of it ? Should I ask for help ? Or has anybody been familiar with it ? whenever i take even one 550mg (naproxen) ibuprofen and then drink, my stomach gets tender and bloated and i feel bad. i usually take a maalox or something like that, yet i never throw up from it so i don't know if that's applicable for you. i think it is due to the ibuprofen, but if you're not used to eating spicy foods then it could have disagreed with you, not necessarily meaning food poisoning. you should never drink and take NSAIDs at the same time.

Ibuprofen is bad for our livers. Try getting a massage if you can. Bromelian, a natural supplement made from pineapples helps reduce swelling but it takes time to work. Also, make sure you're drinking lots of water, and getting some exercise. Try some yoga too. Pot brownies worked the best for my back pain.

I have a infected broke off wisdom tooth during my last pregnancy my face swelled up and I was out of Tylenol so I took a 800 mg ibuprofen. Bad call for me but I was in pain and it was only once and everything turned out fine with baby so I was lucky.
