hysterectomy

Avatar n tn Like spreading my legs part is not comfortable to do. Why do I feel any pressure an pain down there I thought laparoscopic hysterectomy meant we did not touch my vagina? And if it is normal, it has been almost 3 months now why is the discomfort still there anyway?
Avatar f tn Sorry for the late response. Surgical positioning can cause back as well as leg pain and problems. I'm curious what type of hysterectomy you had - robotic, laparoscopic, abdominal, vaginal? Has the back pain improved?
Avatar n tn I am scheduled for a laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy in 4 days. I started my period and will be on the light days at the end by the time i have surgery. Is this a contraindication for proceeding with the surgery or can this procedure occur at any time during the menstrual cycle?
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. Recently I was diagnosed with endocervical adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS). I had a leep procedure and that's how it was discovered. I'm now scheduled to have a laparoscopic hysterectomy. I get to keep my ovaries. I'm 31, no children and I don't want any so that's not a problem for me. But I'm still struggling. I'm scared to have the hysterectomy because the recovery process seems so long and painful and one of my biggest fears is pain.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever had a hysterectomy that started out laparoscopic then went to abdominal? Do you have any advice for recovery ? Tips? Heads up?
Avatar f tn I am now just over 2 weeks post op. I had a total laparoscopic hysterectomy, Davinci assist. I've been doing ok. Some back pain at end of days have been typical, especially if I did a few things during the day. I was in pain last night and went to ER. I was diagnosed with a UTI and given Cipro. Is it late to be getting a UTI this far out from my surgery and catheter?
Avatar f tn A small fibroid is not a reason to get a hysterectomy, either. Endometriosis can be treated by laparoscopic surgery, but it is to remove the endometriosis, not the uterus. Are you sure your doctor wanted you to have a hysterectomy? Here is a link that describes endometriosis. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.
Avatar f tn Hi new to this guys after 14 years endometriosis had hysterectomy last year and still having multiple cysts on ovaries,3 weeks ago had rupchured cyst, but yet again 2 weeks latter multtiple cysts thinking of having ovaries out as in to much pain has anyone had this done after partial hysterectomy look forward to comments.
Avatar f tn I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy 8 weeks ago and I have had terrible pain in my groin and in my left leg. It even wakes me up at night! Ok honestly thought I would be completely fine by now! Also dealing with stomach pain and still swollen a little. I have no energy at all and this is just getting ridiculous! I told my doctor at my 6 week check up but she said I was just healing! This can’t be normal!!
Avatar f tn Hi. I am having laparoscopic hysterectomy with ovary removel.(Brca gene) I have a one year old baby. I was told I can't pick up anything over 10pounds. No yoga or anything either . For 4 weeeks. Wow is this really true?? Is there a procedure with better post op recovery?
Avatar f tn Can you suggest any pain medication that might give me relief until I have a hysterectomy. I am having debilitating pain two or three days every month now. I have tried aspirin, aceteminophen, ibuprofen, and my doctor prescribed Ponstel. None of this is helping. A hot bath gives minor relief, as does a heating pad. I am 48 years old and work full time at a busy law firm. I had the ablation and tubal ligation approximately two years ago.
20661212 tn?1503080954 It gets worse around my period, I have had 1 laparoscopic laser treatment, an IUD, hormone treatment and was even sent to physical therapy to try and help. Nothing has helped, but it has been livable for the most part, just around my period it is very, VERY painful. In the last 3-4 months, however, it has gotten to where it is painful all day. Some days it s so painful I can barely walk and I have pain in my leg as well. It is also effecting my bathroom habits.
Avatar n tn My doctor suggests that I get a hysterectomy. I do not want to try any medications because I feel that they will only mask the problem and eventually I will have to deal with it. I have two children, and don't plan on having additional children. My doctor suggested performing the hysterectomy laparoscopically to avoid opening me up again. She will remove the endometriosis through coagulation. Do you think that these two methods are the appropriate treatment?
Avatar n tn I am only 22 and i have two children. but for the last year i have had pain in my left ovary. well i have done an ultrasound and i wont know my results until the 17th of november. but the pain wont go away. i cant deal with it anymore. i just need to know if im to young to have a hystorectomy. i dont want anymore children. and i only want to have one surgery. can you answer these questions for me.
Avatar f tn my doctor has recommended laparoscopic hysterectomy. I had the uterine ablation procedure done 3 1/2 yrs ago but the irregular cycles and severe pain have returned. My doctor stated he would removed my right ovary for sure, as it is covered in scar tissue and causes a lot of pain. The question is should I keep my left ovary or not? I suffer from menstrual migraines and they have gotten worse over the past 3 -6 months. I'm thinking maybe take them both out and go on HRT.
Avatar f tn I suffer constantly with low grade fevers, lower back pain, pelvic pain, lower abdominal pain, headaches, extreme fatigue, and from time to time I'll also have pain/burning in my upper thighs. I've tried some birth control pills tho I can't currently remember the name brand. They didn't help at all.
Avatar n tn I just had a repair in combination with a laparoscopic partial hysterectomy. I am on day 3 post surgery and off all pain meds except the Motrin 800 which is more to reduce swelling. I would not have done repair if my hysterectomy was not medically necessary even though it was bothersome it was not life threatening. Overall not in much pain from the repair.
Avatar f tn I am 43 yrs old, I had my hysterectomy at 33 or 34 due to ovarian cysts, endometriosis and extreme pain. I was on Lupron injections for a couple of yrs (can't remember exact amount of time). I remember loving the shots because it lessoned my pain and I didn't have a period for 6 months with every injection. Today I believe I was so niave and just wanted to stop taking tons of pain medication and dealing with the whole thing in general, that when my doctor said hysterectomy....
Avatar n tn I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy 3 days ago and have noticed a rash near the incisions...not directly on the incisions. Also, there is a similar rash under my breasts and along my c-section scar (from 25 years ago). I used to have severe problems with hives many years ago, but have not had the problem lately. I'm hoping this is not a return of same....or something more problematic. Please advise. So far, there is no itching, but it's very red.
Avatar f tn And just to let you know, she got a laparoscopic hysterectomy done in 2009 July to get that out. And of course, they even took out her uterus and both ovaries, citing future complications. Which resulted in lower back spasms/pain and still continues till this day. Also she gained weight somehow. So i suggest you get a clear picture of all pros & cons before opting for the best possible solution in your case.
Avatar f tn I saw my obgyn today and was told in order to relieve my menstrual cramping the next step would be a laparoscopic hysterectomy. I had an oblation 2 years ago and it wasn't helping anymore. I was wondering if i will still get my period, he said he would be leaving my ovaries in.
Avatar f tn By the way, if the cyst is benign, you could be a candidate for a supracervical laparoscopic hysterectomy, or a laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy with removal of ovary(s). I'm sure that you don't want more surgery, but you even more don't want more cancer! Good luck!
Avatar f tn 4 days later, (and throughout an entire weekend, in pain) I was at home, thinking that I was having some residual pain from the laparoscopic procedure... I called my doctor and told him that I was having issues breathing and that I felt very weak, and was in intense pain. I was seen about an hour later, and he discovered a large "clot" in my abdomen.
Avatar f tn I am 5 days post total laparoscopic hysterectomy with endo excision. I'm sore in the areaz where the endo was removed. the this soreness is minimal compared to how i felt before surgery. I'm also a member on a hysterectomy website where we compare progress notes of others who have had hysterectomies during the same wk, I seem to be on target. But I hear excision causes a lot of soreness...
1809377 tn?1316520328 she scheduled a partial total laparoscopic hysterectomy. She will only keep ovaries unless they are diseased, one due to my age (34), and bcuz I have a family history of both heart & osteoporosis, so why take any risks. She will be removing the tubes, along with the uterus & cervix because she wants to prevent issues in the future with endometrial cells causing issues in the futures & I have past problems w/ annormal paps. Surgery is scheduled for 10/5.
Avatar f tn I’m 45 and had partial hysterectomy 7 years ago because of endometriosis, no cancer history, healthy very active. Two months ago I started being awoke at night with lower back pain, especially with a full bladder. I finally got an appointment with my pc she ordered an abdominal ultrasound that show a 17x19cm simple cyst along with several follicular cyst on my left ovary, and on my right side a 16x21cm septate cyst with blood flow present.

I have to make an appt with my gyno cause something def isn't right....how are you feeling now????
