Laparoscopic hysterectomy uterus

Common Questions and Answers about Laparoscopic hysterectomy uterus

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn By the way, if the cyst is benign, you could be a candidate for a supracervical laparoscopic hysterectomy, or a laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy with removal of ovary(s). I'm sure that you don't want more surgery, but you even more don't want more cancer! Good luck!
Avatar n tn Like spreading my legs part is not comfortable to do. Why do I feel any pressure an pain down there I thought laparoscopic hysterectomy meant we did not touch my vagina? And if it is normal, it has been almost 3 months now why is the discomfort still there anyway?
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever had a hysterectomy that started out laparoscopic then went to abdominal? Do you have any advice for recovery ? Tips? Heads up?
Avatar f tn I saw my obgyn today and was told in order to relieve my menstrual cramping the next step would be a laparoscopic hysterectomy. I had an oblation 2 years ago and it wasn't helping anymore. I was wondering if i will still get my period, he said he would be leaving my ovaries in.
Avatar f tn A small fibroid is not a reason to get a hysterectomy, either. Endometriosis can be treated by laparoscopic surgery, but it is to remove the endometriosis, not the uterus. Are you sure your doctor wanted you to have a hysterectomy? Here is a link that describes endometriosis. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.
Avatar m tn I am 51 years old and have 3rd stage uterus prolapsed and my menopause got over 2 he doctor has adviced me surgery. She took a few tests and in the pap smear it showed ASCUS cells. She said it is nothing to worry about but suggested the ovaries be removed as well because of my menopause and age so that it does not turn in to ovarian cancer in the future. I am very worried about the thought of removing ovaries.
Avatar f tn I have recently found out that I am getting a complete hysterectomy (removal of my cervix, uterus and ovaries). It is being done with robot assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy. I am only 35 yr old and a little bit concerned with menopause and the hormone replacement therapy. I am just wondering what other women have experienced with having a complete hysterectomy and the symptoms of menopause.
Avatar n tn I am scheduled for a laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy in 4 days. I started my period and will be on the light days at the end by the time i have surgery. Is this a contraindication for proceeding with the surgery or can this procedure occur at any time during the menstrual cycle?
Avatar f tn And just to let you know, she got a laparoscopic hysterectomy done in 2009 July to get that out. And of course, they even took out her uterus and both ovaries, citing future complications. Which resulted in lower back spasms/pain and still continues till this day. Also she gained weight somehow. So i suggest you get a clear picture of all pros & cons before opting for the best possible solution in your case.
Avatar n tn We need both our ovaries, uterus and tubes our whole lives for good health and well-being. Yet, hysterectomy and oophorectomy are two of the top overused surgeries. I hope this helps!
Avatar f tn Had laparoscopic surgery of an ovarian cyst and haven't felt my normal self emotionally.
Avatar f tn I have been wondering that myself I had a uterus up lift a couple of years after I had my son about 10 years ago I started to get really bad periods and was really sick all the time about five years ago I went to see an obgyn and he told me I needed to get a hysterectomy they tried to do it laparoscopic but every time they turn me upside down I would die after twice the cut me open and he said that my inside was really messed up and if I had waited to much longer I would been dead but now this
Avatar f tn after having an MRI scan showed it was not endometriosis still causing pain as it was removed but there wasnt vey much,MRI showed ADENOMYOSIS endometri which grown outside the uterus and into the muscle wall so if you are still in pain after 6 weeks ask for an MRI to make sure nothing is left! i still have my uterus so only option is hysterectomy!but definately had 100% success first time and didnt return til 5 years later!
Avatar f tn He has suggested a partial hysterectomy to remove the uterus and then repair the bladder and rectal area. My concern is leaving the ovaries and fallopian tubes to futher increase the chances of ovarian cancer. I have also have had a history of abnormal pap smears. What do I need to be concerned about?
Avatar f tn My hysterectomy was done vaginally. Laparoscopic with three holes in my stomach and uterus was pulled through my vagina as well as tubes and ovaries. Rectocele and Rectocele were stitched as well as cervix after uterus removal. I stayed 2 notes but if u can pee just one nite. Whole procedure sort of like having a vaginsl baby with episiotomy . Lol I am 71 years old with all three prolapsed.
Avatar m tn If I still need to do some that it will be a laparoscopic hysterectomy recovery time is 2 weeks versus abdominal hysterectomy 8-10 weeks recovery time. God Bless you both and anyone else that's going through this!
Avatar f tn Hi,I was diagnosed With endometriosis back in February of last year when the doc preformed Laparoscopic surgery where they cauterized an endometrial cysts on my ovary and did a D&C, less than 3 weeks after surgery all my endo symptoms returned. I suffer constantly with low grade fevers, lower back pain, pelvic pain, lower abdominal pain, headaches, extreme fatigue, and from time to time I'll also have pain/burning in my upper thighs.
Avatar n tn Please have her consider a laparoscopic procedure to resuspend the uterus to the ligaments (called a laparoscopic colpopexy). This is a procedure that can reattach the uterine ligaments using sutures, and can replace the vagina into a position resembling normal. She gets to keep her uterus, and can have pregnancies in the future, but I would recommend cesarean delivery to prevent further insult to the ligaments.
Avatar f tn They are recomending ablation or hysterectomy doe anyone have a opinion on which is best? I went in on Thursday after bleeding heavy for over 40 days & got blood work done along with a transvaginal us my results will be back on my Monday appointment. Thanks for any advice.
Avatar n tn Some of my symptoms include, pain such as a pea is trying to pass through my fallopen tube, stabbing pain in my uterus. Almost contraction like pain in my uterus. It affects my entire lower abdomen, both sides and my lower back occasionally.
Avatar n tn When I had my hysterectomy, my gynecologist took the works out. I'm talking the ovaries (well one, I had the other one removed last Dec.), uterus, cervix, and fallopian tubes. The procedure he used was called lavh, laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy. I feel a lot better for it though. For me, I have a family history cervical and uterine cancer, which why the gynecologist took out everything. From what I understand though, there are other cancers us women can get.
483733 tn?1326798446 I fortunately had no fertility issues and gave birth to two children but I had a hysterectomy in December of 07 due to an enlarged uterus and fibroids. My uterus and cervix were removed and I kept both of my ovaries but now I am scheduled to have a complex cyst removed from my left ovary and it is likely I will lose the ovary as well.
701563 tn?1228359916 Thank you so much for the prompt reply. It was very helpful. You touched on all the points of my concern. I didn't like the idea of just leaving the polyp in there and always having to worry about it. I guess it is time for me to get a second opinion from another gyn to see if they think they can possibly try another hysteroscopy and if not, have a discussion about a hysterectomy.
Avatar f tn I am going to have a total laparoscopic hysterectomy (uterus and ovaries) in about 2 weeks. 1) How long will I spend in the hospital? 2) What are the tricky tasks around the house that I might do out of habit, but really shouldn't? I'm guessing laundry and loading/unloading dishwasher...what else? 3) How soon after surgery do women start on hormone replacement? Thank you!
1809377 tn?1316520328 she scheduled a partial total laparoscopic hysterectomy. She will only keep ovaries unless they are diseased, one due to my age (34), and bcuz I have a family history of both heart & osteoporosis, so why take any risks. She will be removing the tubes, along with the uterus & cervix because she wants to prevent issues in the future with endometrial cells causing issues in the futures & I have past problems w/ annormal paps. Surgery is scheduled for 10/5.
Avatar n tn Other than that surgical treatment myomectomy which is removal of the fibroid (by surgery, laparoscopic or hysteroscopic methods) may also be entertained. Last resort is hysterectomy. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
