Avatar f tn I have had chronic back and neck pain for 5 years, had a basilar migraine, trapped nerves in my neck and back and now my neck feels compressed. It hasn't been diagnosed and i am worried as to what it could be. I think it may be compressed neck arteries which make me lightheaded and dizzy. Any ideas? I am currently seeing a chiropractor who works wonders for the back and neck pain, but the lightheadedness remains.
1456881 tn?1285458554 This loss of vision in the peripheral visual field can be due to optic nerve damage caused by glaucoma, high internal eye pressure, retinal detachment, occlusion of blood supply as in eye stroke, optic neuritis, and optic nerve edema. Tunnel vision is also possible after a history of head injury, concussion, brain damage and stroke, though all these causes may not be applicable in your case.
1211508 tn?1343079605 So I have these weak feeling/light headed sensations lately where I'm also mentally not as acute as normal. On one hand I thought maybe my blood sugar has dropped (hypoglycemia). So then I thought ok, well I'll cut back on the carbs and eat a higher protein diet. But I exercise regularly. It's not as intense as it used to be but I still bike at medium heart rates (aerobic zone) for 30-40 minutes in the gym--which isn't that hard, really.
Avatar n tn I am a Type II diabetic and what you have described sounds like hypoglycemia vs. hyperglycemia (diabetes). I have experienced hypoglycemia on several occasions and my symptoms were quite similar to yours. See your doc right away.

Avatar n tn My grandmother has been suffering from off and on dizziness for 6 months. The spells come and go. They are very extreme she vomits when she walks she would sway. On Monday she had a spell that did not go away. She vomited and diearea all day when my grandfather called she was so weak she could not get out of bed. We took her to the hospital and they started fluids. She had temporary loss of her one side but none of the test show a stroke. But they are still treating it as a TIA.
Avatar m tn A week ago I woke up to my entire bed literally soaked with sweat. I had kicked all the covers off and turned down the thermostat to 50F. I don't remember doing any of that. When I woke up the vision in my left eye was awful, it went back to normal after about 15 minutes. I have had a growing pain behind my right eye and areas around it ever since. My vision comes and goes only in that eye. Its very painful and I don't have good enough insurance to afford expensive tests...

Avatar m tn This can happen if there is a sudden drop in your blood pressure or you are dehydrated from vomiting, diarrhea, fever, or other causes. It is also associated with hypoglycemia, common cold, or allergies and underlying medical conditions. Other causes like heart problems, stroke, and shock are also considered. You are right in saying that laboratory tests are needed to reach a diagnosis. To ease any worry or anxiety, have this evaluated further for proper management.

Avatar n tn The most common causes are Hypotension, Anemia, Dehydration and Hypoglycemia. I would suggest you to get your blood pressure and sugar levels {fasting and post lunch} checked and get a complete blood picture done to rule out Anemia. The other possible causes could be hyperventilation, inner ear diseases, cardiac arrhythmias, stroke and brain tumors. Get the blood sugar evaluated and an ECG done.CT brain is also useful if a brain injury is suspected to be the cause of vertigo.

1773104 tn?1314155711 Certainly hypoglycemia can trigger anxiety and panic, but rarely would it be the sole cause behind it. It is common for someone new to anxiety to do serious soul searching to try and find a logical "reason" behind the new emergence of anxiety and panic. We turn into detectives and try to find a sensible reason why it showed up (most times seemingly "out of the blue").
Avatar n tn s disease), GERD or gastric reflux, and internal ear infections. Take plenty of fluids and see if it helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor. Take care!
Avatar n tn well this could be the hypoglycemia, i too have it but dont often have symptoms because i eat constantly and eat candy often. but i am no doctor so you should definately ask your doctor about it. hypoglycemia seems to be thought of as not serious, but in fact its just as serious as diabetes, and also can progress like diabetes. you may have been told this 5 years ago but it may have progressed to a higher level. it could be worse. you need to have your doctor check your blood sugar levels.
