hypoglycemia

Avatar n tn I posted a similiar question not long ago about tremors and trembling coz I get them a lot. I have thyroid problems, menopause, and sjogren's syndrome, but I'm not sure which causes the tremors. But I do no they are definately caused by these hormone disorders.
Avatar m tn My symptoms are very similiar to low potassium, hypoglycemia, high blood pressure and anemia, but with the high iron, I don't think anemia is a possibility. Any suggestions on tests to get and could I have anemia or hypoglycemia with high iron? Thanks!
757137 tn?1347196453 you might just try eating one banana a day. That might help both your potassium levels and your hypoglycemia, as you say both are mild problems. And you might try supporting your adrenals with adaptogens such as eleuthero and ashwaganda. For exact potassium levels, that's hard, because potassium is a nutrient one has to be careful about -- you don't want too much, don't want too little. You might look into an electrolyte supplement -- and I don't mean Gator Aid!
Avatar n tn He has the cool tingling feeling in his hands and sometimes feet! Dieting effects hypoglycemia.............when my husband doesn't eat right(working)....he complains of these symptoms.....his blood sugar has gotten into the teens...not a good thing! Call your Dr. on Monday and explain what has been happening....between the both of you...you will be able to find a solution! He might want to do some lab work...?? Best of luck with your new food and exercise plan!!!
Avatar n tn 2 should probably have their potassium channel genes analyzed because , insulin LOWERS potassium and this causes the arhythmias as well as the ACTH and epinephrine response to the drop of sugar levels. atrial fibrillation can have adverse events and you should LOOK AT YOUR GTT test more carefully . do you have an increase of INSULIN in response to eating sugar, ? IF so GET YOUR POTASSIUM GENES ANALYZED. high insulin spikes after sugar indicate this problem and it is NOT insulin resistance.

369861 tn?1306275686 Oddly, when I was put on diuretics prior to hospital stay, my heart enlarged, urination qaudrupled, and I flushed all the potassium and salt out of my system, and passed out with an over working heart. While at the ER, the ER doc said I had congestive heart failure, the 2nd morning, I had a stress test, passed with ease, then during the week a heart cath, no abnormalities. After leaving the hospital, I visit my cardiologist that performed serious of test, ultrasound, echo, etc....
Avatar n tn the other cause is hypocalcemia, hypokalemia and deranged sodium, potassium or phosphate levels. Hypoglycemia in diabetics etc can also cause perioral tingling. Raynaud’s disease or phenomenon causes tingling and numbness in lips, nose ears, nipples , fingers or toes, changing from white to blue to red on exposure to cold. It is seen in systemic sclerosis, SLE or rheumatoid arthritis. Infections like shingles and leprosy, neurological disorders like multiple sclerosis and trigeminal neuralgia.
1660049 tn?1326089018 ) has your doctor checked your FSH and LH levels? Hubby's sperm count? http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001408/ Link above to good article on PCOS. I have friends who swear that red raspberry leaves (usually as a tea) are the best thing to help conception....but I don't have any first hand knowledge. In answer to your question "My cycle has always been little to none so is it possible to ovul with out cycle?" YES.
Avatar n tn Hello, At such a young age if numbness and dizziness are occurring, then the possibilities are abnormal levels of calcium, potassium, or sodium in your body and a lack of vitamin B12,hypoglycemia,dehydration,anemia,orthostatic hypotension(low BP), stress and anxiety and endocrine disorders like thyroid disorders. Eat healthy ,nutritious food and take adequate amount of water.
Avatar m tn You also need to know sodium and potassium and other tests. One test is not enough but 4pm is usually not a diagnosis time either, midnight is better.
1773104 tn?1314155711 Certainly hypoglycemia can trigger anxiety and panic, but rarely would it be the sole cause behind it. It is common for someone new to anxiety to do serious soul searching to try and find a logical "reason" behind the new emergence of anxiety and panic. We turn into detectives and try to find a sensible reason why it showed up (most times seemingly "out of the blue").
Avatar n tn potassium, calcium, sodium, vitamin B complex, or vitamins B1, B3, or B6 and Vitamin D. Generally deficiencies of any of the above can cause muscle twitching and spasms in localized or generalized areas of the body. Get kidney function, parathyroid gland function and adrenal function tests done because these affect the electrolyte balance in the body. Stress, alcohol, caffeine and fatigue all cause similar symptoms. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn well this could be the hypoglycemia, i too have it but dont often have symptoms because i eat constantly and eat candy often. but i am no doctor so you should definately ask your doctor about it. hypoglycemia seems to be thought of as not serious, but in fact its just as serious as diabetes, and also can progress like diabetes. you may have been told this 5 years ago but it may have progressed to a higher level. it could be worse. you need to have your doctor check your blood sugar levels.
Avatar f tn Alternatively hypoglycemia too can cause tingling and twitching. Dehydration and electrolyte (sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium) imbalance too could be a cause. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please discuss this with your doctor. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar f tn I would have tachycardia up to 199 bpm on a pulse ox. The muscle weakness increased and also included my arms and shoulders and soon accompanied by studdering, inability to talk, chew, swallow, my legs would give out intirely....normally always accompanied by tachy of some sort normally up to 150 pbm...sometimes it would be normal. I can always hear my surroundings, but not always able to respond, which lasts seconds to minutes or until I drink milk, or relax.
Avatar f tn This has caused me to become apathetic and depressed. I cannot do my homework, and have problems remembering things. I miss extremely obvious things, such as jokes and do not pick up on many things anymore. I literaly feel that I have a fog in my head, and feel like I am behind the world looking at it, with a fog in front of my eyes. I used to be fatigued as well, however I started taking B vitamins and they helped a bit.
Avatar n tn i am 39 years old 5 years ago i experienced an episode of involuntary movements in my hand and legs that progressed to my face and then affected my speech. After several days in the hospital no dx was given , although it took another 4 weeks to regain my speech and muscle control. About two weeks ago the numbness in my hands started now involuntary movement in my hands and legs. Hard to walk and use hands. Any suggestions!!!!!
Avatar f tn If you have too much or too little of any of these hormones you can an array of symptoms that come and go. Those glands also control your sodium and potassium levels.
Avatar f tn m not sure that eating every two hours is ideal for reactive hypoglycemia. Again, check with the doctor(s) treating you to see if altering what you eat and when you eat it might help you feel better.
Avatar f tn s a endocrine issue. History of reactive hypoglycemia since 16 (34 now)  asthma and newfound allergies. Symptoms are : extreme fatigue, Vertigo, cold all the time, irritability, shaking, brain fog, losing periods of time, falling asleep (did this driving), not feeling rested, short of breath, weight gain, dizzy, bp fluctuates usually low reading like 100/68 but some higher, as high as 150/92, fast heart rate usually in 90 or 120 range resting.  Taking phenterimine helped me feel better.

Avatar n tn Have you had a glucose tolerance test to see if your body produces too much insulin as a reaction when you eat? This is a different test from having a simple blood sugar test -- you must drink a sugary solution and blood is drawn several times to see how your body is reacting. Unfortunately, when people have what is called REACTIVE HYPOGLYCEMIA (when the body reacts by over-producing insulin, which causes hypoglycemia), it can be difficult to show in a test.
