How long morphine in system

Common Questions and Answers about How long morphine in system

While on the methodone for 2 has slowly stopped working in the last year. I'm wondering how long the w/ds will last taking the morphine and the clonidine patch. Any suggestions would be helpful.. Thanks so much...
No one puts a drug in solution and then in a needle to squirt in their mouths. They could use an eyedropper to do that. You may need to wake fully up here if you wish to save your marriage. And you have legitimate concerns for health. I have already done a years worth of experimental chemo from the Mayo Clinic because of my carelessness. It is no joke. I would be glad to chat if you wish to PM me ---- unfortunately the bottom line seems to be that he needs to want to quit for himself.
Now that I realize that I was-- am even more determined to get it out of my system. So how long til the anxiety, chills, breathing harder, runny nose, flu symptoms, goes away. ?
The elimination half-life of morphine is approximately 120 minutes, and It's pretty much completely out of your system in 4 or 5 hours. Being a daily user for a year, he would have developed an addiction and get withdrawals. The withdrawals from opiates aren't pleasant, this is why addicts have to keep using, or take something else (another longer lasting opiate) until they can get more of their drug of choice. I hope I'm wrong, but this just doesn't sound right to me.
Was truly surprised that it helped. What ***** about my situation is that I'm in the Va system and in that system every one is a drug addict. And my meds are shipped in the mail. Helps my anxiety attacks. Like you said, we are all chemically dependent but that doesn't make us addicts. There is a huge difference and unfortunately the general population is big time misinformed on that subject. Thanks for your insight on this mater.
I hated how it made me feel, so I quit it cold turkey. Also quit Neurontin and Lyrica. In 2003, my doctors switched me to morphine, and I started small (30 mg/day) & ended at 120 mg/day. Lately, the 120mg was not working and I had been having some weird symptoms such as horrible skin itching, hair loss, sleeplessness, muscle jerking, & stabbing eye pain, & a few other things... not to mention that it was getting so that I was taking 60 mg every 6 hours without relief.

I take 120 mg morphine er and I need to know how long it takes for the medicine to kick in. I also don't understand what percentage of the dose ( or mg ) produces relief in what time stages. I hope my question is understandable.
It has been 7 months since the last chemo, my mum has a swollen stomach and one of her legs is very swollen and she says she has lumps at the top of her legs. She is on 60mg of morphine twice a day and has oromorph in between for breakthrough pain.My mum has also started to lost weight. Although she can still get around fairly well, she is not bedridden, she has had enough and doesn't want to wake up every morning.
How long does it take to get morphine out of your system after having it for a year, intrathecally?
How long after 4 mg morphine sulfate do you need to wait to perform HIDA scan?
hello to all I have a question how long does it take to get 1 60 milligram morphine pill out of your system..... any advise would be wonderful.
yea you hit it on the nail, PMP gave me 15mg SO4 immediate for breakthrough and 30mg morphine. Neither one of them seem to work well but my PMP just wont do Oxycontin and she suspects me for even asking for it. My options are limited because I go to the VA for my treatment so I guess I'll just have to make due.
i stopped mophine and now i itch how long does it last please help im 50 , years old , took it for my back , and now i got wanted off , changed my job style , ??
I have been taking Morphine tablets for approximately 2 months and have been clean for 3 days and cannot sleep and have restless legs and arms. I ache physically. How long will this take. Can this be done without going into rehab as I am going through a divorce, hence the use, and cannot let this get into the wrong hands.
The process varies from person to person, and depends on how much you've been taking and for how long. I remember when I quit Kadian-it sucked, but it is so much better not taking it!! Congratulations on making the choice to quit. With addiction,it becomes a daily choice on whether we use or not. You're making the right choice to quit. Do you have any aftercare planned, such as NA or therapy? Having a good support system is essential.
Hi Kjm, Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am sorry to hear about your memory problems. In my opinion it's not uncommon to have some memory issues while you are on an opiate, especially if it's an acute problem or short term high doses of opiate therapy. Usually these clear up soon after discharge or discontinuation of the medication. It's not usual to have a long term memory problem following short term opiate therapy. However six days is not a terribly long time.
But the Methadone Withdrawls made me feel Like I was gonna die or something. How much different is Morphine going to be to come off of in the Future - Compared to Methadone?. Im currrently taking 15-30mg of Morphine a day every 8 hours. Should I alter Days and only take the Morphine ever couple of days so I dont have such a reaction if I decide to stop the Morphine All together? My methadone withdrawl almost ended my Marriage, and Im not wanting to go through anything like that again...
It worries me a lot as I doubt it is healthy for the food detritus to stay around as long as it does in my colon. I massage my stomach often, and yet it feel cramped and sore. What do I change in my diet? And how do I bring my weight down by 10 kg? These are the QUESTIONS I must find solutions to!.
I have gone back to pain doc and he has increased the morphine to l.6 (in hospital I was getting 2.5!) It is just as if I were on opiods, pills all over again. Does anyone out there reading this have any idea why I not getting any pain relief. My neurosurgeon took a CT scan and said pump is working!!! What goes on? I welcome any input. thanks, guys. from Hobbsie still in dreadful pain!
I feel like I have sold my soul to the devil and now it is time to pay up! This is not how I had imagined my life at only 43. In the last five years I have gone through a spine surgery (Discectomy, Fusion, & Laminectomy on my L4-L5 & L5-S1) and the radiation brain surgery. I just want to calm down enough to sleep. This is a living hell!! Has anyone else had success with home remedies to curb the withdrawals? If so, what has worked for you? Thank you!!
Baths are no longer working. Anyone have any more ideas to help her. How long will this go on for. She has been sick for 3 days and hasn't slept.
How often if u don't mind me asking how long or how many times do you get the blurred vision? Is there a way a doctor or your doctor tested you with an allergy test on the morphine just so I know that maybe my doc needs to do the same for me. I've had doctor's say morphine isn't addicting but as I hear from you and others and prescribed it I do know it's addicting and you are right. Thank you for your insight as well. Good luck and all the best to you el_em_en_oh. Thanks again.
Sorry for the long delay ... Anyway, fentanyl is TOTALLY dif than morphine, in that it is 100% synthetic, and is so powerful that it is usually measured in micrograms instead of milligrams ... I think a normal dose is 100 ... but either way, it's an opiate, and can easily be substituted with morphine ... and if you can do that all orally, all the better. Remember, though, after the patch is off, takes a day to really get out of your system.
After twenty days I returned to my physician and she took me off the morphine. How long have you been on it. If it has been three weeks I would think that your system would have adjusted. Please talk to your physician. There are other long acting opiates that may not produce the unpleasant side effects that you are experiencing. My system is very sensitive to medications. This may be true for you. It took a lot of trial and error before I found on that agreed with me.
