How long can it take for solumedrol to take effect?

My 18 year old daughter spent the last 4 months weening off Pristiq and now feel she really needs something for depression and anxiety. So my question, how long to start feeling the effects of Zoloft? She is starting at 50 mg for a week then moving up to 100mg. Any information would be helpful.. I realize everyone is different, but would like to know some experiences.

The reason for my post is not to worry you but to try to demonstrate that the outcome and the length of recovery are very different for each of us and my guess is that yours will get better as most do very slowly, we all heal at different rates. Hi Everyone, Like a copper penny, I keep turning up. I haven't been on in a while because I had an exacerbation from the flu shot. Then, Dec. 5 I started IV soluMedrol at home. Nurse came every day and infused me for 3 days, then a nurse followed up with my sugars, etc. for another 4 days. It was great..only way to do it. Ah, but then it gets even better. On Christmas Eve, my family came over and my grandson either had a cold or the flu..By the next night I was sick..

This is a good drug, but very hard on someone that is prone to high blood pressure and high blood sugar. Her first treatment with Solumedrol, did not seem to work for her, as well as it did for me. My Optic Neuritis (abbreviated- O.N.) was totally gone in 2 weeks. She said her one eye never really went back to normal. Now the other eye starts. Since the beginning of her attack, she has not been in remission yet. This is a long first attack. I pray for a remission.

I'd be checking back with your neuro to find out his rationale for high dose steroids. I'd also be talking to him about a referral for a consult with a neuro who specializes in MS treatment. The field is presently evolving at a fairly rapid pace and we need to have contact with docs who are familiar with what's in development and what's best for our particular situation (those aren't always the same thing).

Thank you Sumana...I go and see my Doc's tomorrow. They are going to get an ear full from me. I am NOT going to do the steroids come hell or high water. It's just too much for me to handle and I can't afford to miss anymore work. I don't get sick time off..I'm only part time and being "sick" damn sure don't pay the bills!

looks like at least according to the diagnosis on my orders for IV steroids that I have officially joined the MS ranks. I have had virtually no symtpoms except one bout of optic neuritis about 5-6 years ago and now this bout started around thanksgiving..again initially with no symtpoms..but an MRI was ordered whoch now shows tons of lesions..lp and bloodwork negative for other things but...

I just got home. So, if this is going to work, how long can I expect before I see a significant difference? What experiences has everyone here had with Solumedrol? Bare in mind that I'm not diagnosed, so this is a bit of an experiment to try and get me some relief. I have been seriously worried how I would work tomorrow morning (I'm off Mondays and Tuesdays) and I'm hoping I wake up at least somewhat better.
