Avatar f tn I am thinking of increasing cytomel Currently I'm on 5 mg in am. I am adding 2.5 in afternoon before 3. How long does it take to feel better with an increase like this I think I have a conversion problem. Is there anything that helps with this? Also, how long for cytomel to leave your system?
Avatar m tn I recently got blood work done. I had been complaining of fatigue, brain fog, and most notably, hair thinning and shedding. Free T4: 1.16 (ng/dl) T 3 Total: 1.25 (ng/dl) TSH: 4.92(miu/ml) Free testosterone: 13.5(pg/ml) Testosterone Total : 283(ng/dl) range (249-836) My doctor noted mildly elevated levels of TSH and so prescribed synthroid 25mcg daily and to recheck levels in 3 months.
Avatar f tn I went for my regular checkup recently and had blood work done and it came back that my chloride was a little low. My dr. did not say anything about it. I noticed on my paperwork after I got home. It was real low,but was a little. Does anyone know why your chloride levels would be low?
460348 tn?1213452322 a friend of mine asked how I was taking my synthroid. Her doctor had suggested she take her Synthroid every morning before her feet hit the floor - I didn't know this before, but your body has a natural surge of levothryroxine in the morning when you first get up. By taking the Synthroid upon awakening, you are giving your body what it would naturally receive. Or so I was told. I switched to taking my Synthroid in the mornings as suggested and the insomnia was resolved.
Avatar m tn The prednisone is giving your body cortisol, so I'm not sure if you'd still have low cortisol while on it. How long have you been on Synthroid? That kind of fatigue sounds like the typical debilitating fatigue from hypothyroidism. Thinking maybe you haven't been on Synthroid long enough to get the full benefit or, if you have been on it for a while, perhaps you need to be on a higher dose. I happen to be someone who didn't get great results from Synthroid.
Avatar m tn re right and cut my synthroid down to 50mcg from 75 mcg. I told him I would like to know how these horrible disruptions to my mental and physical health relate to my Thyroid medication problems. Answer I only know it can cause depress; great! Also about I also like to know of any alternative medicine to offset the change in Thyroid levels. This whole episode has me perplexed; I'm scared of it reoccurring. Related systoms.
Avatar m tn Thyroid problems and Synthroid are tricky. It takes Synthroid 4-6 weeks to reach it's true potential in your blood. Furthermore, the initial dose we take is seldom our "ideal" dose. So, often when we start meds, our symptoms can get worse; it's kind of a "residual" effect of being hypo. FT4 often has to be midrange and FT3 upper half to upper third of range before symptoms are relieved. Give it a while.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed 150 mcg of synthroid. When can I expect that to start working? And how long does it take to start feeling better? Also, has anyone found anything that works to relieve some of the symptoms (fatigue, coldness, fog). Does exercising help?
Avatar n tn Would I just take 2 30 mcg pills then? I honestly feel like 30 mcg was too much...I'm getting palps and night sweats. But maybe that's because I'm super hypothyroid according to my latest numbers. Why would my numbers go down though on meds? My FT3 was 2.8 when I wasn't on meds and now it's a 2.1...
Avatar n tn 5 and the second one read 22. I am currently on Synthroid 112. I have a tiny nodule on the left thyroid. It is smaller then 1 cm. What could be changing my TSH number in such a short time. Also I noticed a bald spot on my head and I am tired all the time. I get dizzy when I bend over or change position while I am trying to sleep.
1369218 tn?1282423884 I am on Nexium, Synthroid, Cytomel, Iron and Vit D. I take Synthroid in the morning and then I take Nexium and Cytomel together. Is that ok??? I then take Vit D and Iron with dinner. I am also seeing a new doc to test thyroid/adrenals. What tests should I have run? I feel horrible and want to feel better!!!
