Avatar f tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination, but it can be folliculitis, seat dermatitis, heat rash, diaper rash, contact dermatitis or psoriasis.Looking at the age of the child, diaper or heat rash is a possibility. Allow your son to wear cotton undergarments and keep the buttocks clean and hygienic. Also after washing the area with water, pat dry the buttocks.Pls do not apply any cream on the byttocks as it will leda to further clogging of pores. You can however apply a light dusting powder.

Avatar n tn i broke out into a terrible rash on my belly around like 26 weeks and went to my dr and they said it was like diaper rash just from the heat and my maternity pants covering up that skin so it can't breath. he suggested desitin or some kind of baby diaper rash cream. you should definitely talk to your dr though because it can be PUPPP, google it it looks miserable I was terrified I had it, luckily i didn't!
Avatar f tn Sorry your little one is having diaper rash. My first daughter got diaper rash when I tried being fancy and bought her Huggies Supreme. I realized she was allergic to it and I switched her to LUVS. I've always used this powder call Caldesene, its in a pink bottle and you can find it in any CVS or Walgreens. It is so good it formulated to keep moisture away from their skin. You can use it on prickly heat too.
Avatar m tn The diaper cream has worked around my anus but the rash seems to have migrated to the area between my scrotum and anus. I've been medicating that area but perhaps the way I'm sitting has caused further issues. Now I have the same kind of rash (almost like a rug burn) on both butt cheeks just outside of the anus area where the rash began. So it would seem like a heat rash, I suppose, but not sure how to treat it.
Avatar n tn I think he has something that is common, its like an infection. They are not like normal pimples or even puss, but they can often cause pain and scar. Take him to a doctor to get some special ointment.
4654179 tn?1595183520 For those already moms, whats the best diaper rash cream out there? There is so many brands are out there. I bought the Destin (spelling) and was wondering if that's was a good kind.
Avatar n tn Sometimes it is a build up of heat which results in a heat rash or if you sweat a lot, the constant moisture causes the itching and rash. I have found that cortisone creams do not work, but amazingly diaper rash cream does the trick. Of course you should consult your doctor to find out for sure.
Avatar f tn It usually starts out on one arm pit, the a few days later I get it on the other one. When I use the diaper rash cream, or the diaper rash cream mixed with a little of the cortasone cream, it starts to get better. I reached a point in the last few days where the burn (rash) had finally disappeared and all that was there was the thin scab (about three inches length wise).
689528 tn?1364135841 Try a diaper cream that is made for yeast, it might be an infection and not chafing. Cloth diapers are fine, a bit leaky is all. Get the kind with the waterproof wrap. I had poor results with my son, since his little manhood would always aim and squirt right out, but I didn't have the best of wraps for the diapers. Look at some of the choices (in our town, the diaper service had the best selection) and buy ones that look like they will hold on at the legs.
Avatar f tn Could just be a regular diaper rash, butif it's not going away it could be a yeast diaper rash. If regular diaper cream doesn't clear it up within a few days, talk to his doctor. You may need a special topical cream (possibly Nystatin cream) if it's a yeast diaper rash. You could try a little cornstarch to keep his bum dry and change his diaper often. Also, keep it clean and give it some time to air dry too.
Avatar f tn t healing the skin burn because the stress was affecting my immune function. I used the Dove soap, then put on hydrocortisone cream, then the zinc oxide diaper rash cream. Ahh. The burn is subsiding now. Thanks. I wonder what you're doing now in 2015.

9182722 tn?1403784024 The Vaseline is a lubricant to help keep his bottom dry to prevent more rash, the fungal/yeast creams help because many times baby will have test contributing to the rash(yes even boys) and the diaper cream helps with the rash too obviously and the cortisone helps with inflammation (don't use too much it's a steroid), I would also add you should call and confirm(quick call should be fine) with his doctor that this will be okay for your baby (I sing know your baby or any medical conditio
Avatar f tn SOmething that has occurred in the past in hot weather (heat rash) I was told by PCP to put talc on it and it helped somewhat. The rash sort of disappeared by was still visible. The last few weeks it has reared its ugly head again with a vengence. I had a 2 week course of antibiotic analox due to bronchitis. On the 13th day of taking this med, my rash came out in full bloom only worse than ever.

Avatar n tn I just had a new born on 10/13/15...when I change her diaper she has this RED rash on her buns wit a little bit of blood...
Avatar n tn I would suggest lots of air time, and when her rash is clear, use vaseline after each change to keep the moisture off of her. Also, Sudocream is the best diaper rash cream I have used. She may need some hydrocortisone cream to treat the inflammation, but this should be used sparingly and not long term, as it can thin the skin. It's something the doctor can prescribe in addition to the yeast cream.
Avatar n tn This could be a yeast infection or even heat rash. Make sure that her pants are not tight and rubbing up against her. Try feeding her yogurt which will help if it is a yeast infection. Make sure that she is wiping from front to back and cleaning well, because sometimes this can cause irritation. Also make sure that after baths, she is completely dry before getting dressed. You can get corn starch and place in her pants to help with chafing.
