heartburn causes risks

Hi, I'm 36 wks, FTM, & prior to getting preggo had experienced heartburn once before, which was awful. Around 20 weeks I started getting heartburn & it was so bad it would wake me up at night, burning from my stomach to my eardrums all day.

do not lay down for an hr after eating n eat SMALL portion meals too much food sitting in ur stomach causes the acid in ur stomach to *** up which causes heartburn.. no spicy food nothin acidic!!

This is an area where medication definitely makes the situation worse in the long run. And whether Buspar causes heartburn or not, anxiety can and often does cause digestive problems. Buspar more often causes nothing, including effects on anxiety, but hope you're one of the ones getting benefit from it. If not, it's the Buspar. Hasn't proven effective.

I am ftm @ 15wks 3 days with twins. I have severe heartburn. Anything I eat or drink causes heartburn. I haven't ate since 6pm this evening and its now 1152 pm and my heartburn will not let me go to sleep. Do any of you suffer from this and what is recommended.

Most of the time acid/heartburn is from the foods you eat plus baby pushes everything up and it causes it too I had heartburn every single day from 5 months till I had my daughter she had a head full of thick long black hair but doesn't mean it's true

( Try bot to lay down right after a meal either, that can aggravate heartburn symptoms.

can anyone tell me if heartburn can cause palpitation, sweating, anxiety and dizzy spell? please =( i'm so afraid and tired of this condition.

Before you proceed to surgery (which I think is your best option), discuss with your surgeon all the risks and complications that can arise. Be sure that you are well informed of these before you go under the knife. I hope that after this operation your symptoms would improve or eventually disappear. Good luck in your operation! m 19 weeks pregnant and I have had a terrible head cold (coughing,sneezing, sore throat and a runny nose). But on top of it all I have had horrible heartburn does any one know.of.any home remedies to help.with this?

I'm currently 27weeks+4days and I'm having really bad heartburn. I feel like the acid in my stomach is in my throat. Did any of you ladies experience this? And whatdo you do to make it better?

My GYN was aware that I was on it prior to getting pregnant, and he recommended I stay on it to prevent heartburn. He said for me, the benefits outweigh the risks. I have been diagnosed with GERD. Definitely discuss it with your doctor. You may actually find that being pregnant may help with IBS. I have read that alot of people have resolution of their symptoms during pregnancy on the Crohn's/Colitis forum. You may find that pregnancy regulates you, or you became constipated.

Milk and Tums work for me - especially the milk. The dairy coats the inside of your esophagus and creates a "barrier" of sorts between your esophagus and the stomach acid that causes heartburn. It doesn't work for everyone, but its worth a shot...

im going in for antireflux surgery next month and have suffered with severe heartburn for 6 yrs, my question is can it cause arm and hand pressure/pain as well as head pressure?

There are pains I consistently have, and I'm wondering what causes them. They are kind of aching, stiff-like pains: One goes up the back of my right leg to about my calf, and the other goes up my right leg just to the right of my shin, again about mid-calf. I also feel like there is tightening there. Sometimes, I get pain across the sole of my foot, too. But it's mostly that lower calf area. I don't think it's neuropathic...

I know it has alot of vitamin c in them and the acid causes heartburn but those effect me can me eating so many of them harm the baby?

I personally cannot take levoxyl it makes my stomach cramp REALLY bad along with heartburn. I would think the Vits. would be a good starting point though. Good Luck!

I know anxiety impacts our stomachs and digestive tracts, but not sure it causes heartburn. Have you tried things like Tums to help with the heart burn? Have you addressed this with your doctor? You truly need to "accept" that your heart is fine. I know it's hard to do this, but this constant worry and fear is fueling your anxiety and keeping it going strong. Heartburn is easily treated, you should see your doctor regarding this, and for peace of mind. Take care.

Has anyone else been diagnosed with GERD even without feeling any "heartburn" or tasting/feeling any acid??? I am very confused because I always thought those were the two main symptoms, but I don't have either and my doctor has diagnosed me with GERD and prescribed Protonix anyway. My symptoms are extreme pressure on my breast bone and pain when I breathe (not just deep breaths). No burning or acid whatsoever.
