For the first year I had acid reflux, this is what I had, and my only symptom was a persistent cough that never went away, plus a propensity for getting bronchitis with high frequency. When my reflux is bad, the acid gets into my lungs and causes me to cough.

Other important and rare condition to be ruled out is cystic fibrosis wherein there is presence of thick saliva and respiratory secretions. Even rare disorder like Sjogren's syndrome is associated with dryness of mouth and thick saliva.

thought it was bronchitis. Then it evolved to asthma like symptoms during the night. My throat would suddenly close up and I couldn't breathe in or out and in the worst attacks I had to retch several times to clear it. After getting tests in the ER (chest x ray/cat scan) it was thought that GERD was causing the issue. Sure enough I started getting digestive issues and stomach bloating/pain. However I am still not sure that is the cause and keep going back to bronchitis.

I found out I had gerd after getting a sore throat and then bronchitis. After the bronchitis I had asthma for the first time in my life. The asthma seemed to have lightened up but over the weekend I felt the acid get in my lungs again. :( I think if it keeps getting into your lungs it can cause pulonary fibrosis which has no cure. If the drs cant find out whats causing my reflux I'm going for surgery - my granma died of PF and its very painful.

Nine months after recovering from terrible acute bronchitis, I am still coughing up small blobs of thick sticky, pale yellow mucus all day. My allergist says my asthma is under control, my sinuses are more or less clear, and I recently went to the cardiologist for a full workup. This is an area where medication definitely makes the situation worse in the long run. And whether Buspar causes heartburn or not, anxiety can and often does cause digestive problems. Buspar more often causes nothing, including effects on anxiety, but hope you're one of the ones getting benefit from it. If not, it's the Buspar. Hasn't proven effective.

I had this four months ago. I haven't had an x ray yet. The first doctor said it was bronchitis. She gave me flixotide but it didn't work. It was so bad I felt as if I was going to die. the linctus didn't help and after going to a private doctor he diagnosed me with asthma (based on the fact i was previously diagnosed with exercise-induced asthma and some wheezing) and nebulized me. yes you can but this is probably is bronchitis drink lots of warm liquids dont breath in any fumes and spit when you can and just keep to warm liquids and doctors can not see bronchitis unless you are pretty much at the stage of pneumonia i just had bronchitis a few weeks back and it causes a lot of mucus drainage go to a doctor if it gets worse but drink liquids and eat healthy food and lots of vitamin c you should be better in no time i hope you get better

i am suffering from allergic bronchitis since 6 months,its keeps recurring however lately ive realised even if i dont step out of my house i feel extremely breathlesness in evenings and night when im lying down and i keep burping the whole day,could gas formation be an aggravating factor??i have been slightly over weight so am on a diet,could gas be a cause for my breathing troubles?
