I am a 50 year old woman, I found a large lump that popped up suddenly on my right leg, just above and to the right of my knee. It is not painful. It is not soft like a lipoma. I am scheduled for an MRI but not a biopsy. According to all of the information that I have read about this, it is likely a malignancy. It is currently the size of a cherry tomato and when I am in a squatting position where the muscle is engaged, it protrudes.
Hi, I am 35yo female. I have had a red hard lump on both knees on the same location, which is on the right side of the knee. They are red hard and extremely sore, and just appeared about 4 weeks ago. Since then the above symptoms have got worse. I have had complete blood work done, all clear. I have had an ultrasound on both knees and that was all clear. I also have 2 lumps on my right lower calf that are not as severe, but non the less, sore. My doctor has no idea what the problem may be.
Large lump that developed overnight on my pompoo's left front leg above the knee. Could this be some type of insect bite?
I can't trigger the pain by running or by moving the joint in any way although the area is slightly tender if I press it hard. There is no lump or indication of any foreign body under the skin. I'll post the diagnosis if I get any joy from the NHS. Kenny make sure to do the same if you find out what it is.
I have a lump above the back of my knee that is itchy. It comes and goes. This time, it seems to be lingering longer. It is hard to the touch. It does not hurt, but it is itchy. I do not have this problem anywhere else on my body. Could this be something serious?
I was doing knees to feet jumps and pretty soon afterwards I noticed a soreness on the back of my leg right above the knee. When I inspected it I felt a lump. I tried doing some research and thought maybe it was a hematoma or something, but I'm not sure. There is discoloration where the lump is. The lump is still there and has been there for a couple weeks now. It is not that sore just feels hard and it does not bother me when I am moving my leg around.
My husband has a lump on his R-thigh above the knee about the size of a marble. It's hard and he says it's not painful. It does not appear to be a pimple/ingrown hair or have an opening of any kind. He did not make a doctors appointment, so I made one for him. What could this be? I'm a little concerned, but maybe it's just nothing.
I saw my doctor, had ultrasound, was called back next day for same day mammogram. Confirmed I had a hard mass the size of a large shooting alley in my right breast. Blood tests showed high platelets and anemia. I have been feeling dragged out and my nipples have changed shape from round (dark area around nipple - don't know how to spell areola?) to oval. I was sent for a bone scan withing 5 days. I am awaiting results.
I have also been in severe pain with swelling in my left knee 4 months after arthroscopic surgery. I also have a large lump at the site were the scope entered my knee, when I ask the doctor that did the surgery about he said it should go away before I die. I thought this was a horrible thing to say because I was really worried about the lump. I have a hard time even getting to see the doctor and no one seem's concerned about the pain and swelling but me.
Now, both are healed (mostly) but after the bruising went down, I asked my doctor about the weird lump that is slightly painful to the touch located on the front and 8 inches up from my knee. Above it is a significant divot, or valley, or whatever. Doc says I got hit so hard it displaced the fat on my leg, forcing it downwards. PT guy said that it would go away after a while. OK, so the lump is smaller, but the divot is still there, and I was wondering -- has anyone heard of this before?
I had a very similar lump to the ones some of you are describing, a small marble sized lump, not terribly hard, but firm, on the left side, on the edge of my hairline, and tender to the touch. I went to the doctor, and very quickly she knew what it was. It turned out that I had another bump about five inches above the lower one which was only noticable if I layed with my left foot resting on my right knee. She diagnosed it as Folliculitis.
Hello, I am 22 years old and ever since last year I have had a hard, unmovable lump on the inside of my right thigh, just above the knee. It hasn't grown in the past year; it's still about the size/shape of half a golf ball. I went to my general doctor and it was diagnosed as a lipoma, though all he did was lightly touch it with his hand. In order to see how hard and that you can't move it around you would need to press hard.
I was very surprised and nervous to discover a tender lump the size of a chestnut, just below my sternum and above my stomach. All kinds of scenarios went racing through my head! But after reading the multitude of posts on this website, I feel much more at ease that I'm experiencing "xiphoid process" Thank you to all of you have posted, and helping those who just got here.
Hi. Since April I have had pain above my left breast. It's not constantly there, but it comes and goes. Sometimes it feels like a burning pain, other times it feels like a cramp. I've also felt it in my armpit at times and it will also creep up over my shoulder. Although I VERY RARELY feel it on the right side, it DOES happen once in awhile. But for the most part it's been my left side.
Both are located about 4-5 inches above the crease in the back of my knee. It extremely hard and hurts when i touch it. It's about the size of a quarter. I didn't notice it until a few months ago and I always forgot about it when I went to the doctor as it hasn't really been bothering me until here lately. It seems to be more sensitive to touch. I've been looking things up online but haven't had much success.
I have a small lump about the size if a BB or small pea that sometime gets a bit bigger right on top if the joint in front of my ear. It is slightly movable. I and two other doctors thought this was preauricular node or partoid issue as I have had a series of issues involving systemic lymphatic swelling. I have been having ear pain, feeling of imflammation in temple and upper cheek area, dizziness and eye pain as well as visible swelling on the left side of my face.
It all depends on how much discomfort this is causing you but if your piece isn't getting any smaller, can still get hard, isn't causing you pain and you don't have any bother urinating then, evne though what you describe isn't normal, it might not be anything to worry about. That said, I'm not going to tell anyone how to feel about this or any other medical condition.
,however, it is still a hard lump especially under the skin. Should I be alarmed or not? I think if it doesn't go away by Monday I will go back to the doctors. Is it normal to still be a large lump even after the drainage? Could it be cancer if it doesn't hurt?
Still feeling fine but throat starting to feel a bit constricted. Lump is about 1 inch above collar bone, just offset to left of middle of throat. It's where I'd expect my thyroid to be. Now noticeable without having to feel for it. I'm from Scotland and have a really horrible doctor, no people skills at all. Throat exam cursory at best, discussion of symptoms minimal. Only symptoms I think I may have and not sure these are relevant.
I have just turned 40, but have had a hard lump on my right rib bone (I think) right in the crease around the base of my breast. It has been there for a number of years at least 6 or 7. I had an ultrasound on it and they questioned doing a biopsy but decided not to and just said to have it checked if there were any changes. It is hard to tell if it changes or not. I just have noticed lately that it annoys me and is tender and seems to be bigger...hard to tell.
Three months ago while seeking medical treatment on a broken bone in knee, the Orthopedic surgeion found pain in his thigh. While following the pain he found it traveled up inot his abdomen and to his scrotum. I took him back to the PCP that same day. She examined him and didn't physically find anything wrong with the testicles, but based on my son's knee jerking reactions she sent him for a sonogram. During the sonogram they found a mass that appears to be a cyst per the sonographer.
Hi, I'm hoping for some help with the following problem, as having just finished a course of antibiotics ( Azithromycin 500) for a suspected "lymph node infection" which apparently is pressing on the Trigeminal nerve. I am still finding the pain unbearable, & feel its only subsided slightly.
I have a huge cyst on my inner right thigh that is the size of a ping-pong ball. It is a soft lump on top of a hard lump and is soooooo painful that it is hard to walk. Currently, the area is red, with the top part purple. It is enlongated and rubs my other thigh when I walk. So far, I have been soaking in an Espon salt bath and/or holding a hot part water, part epsome salt compress to it. It is very painful.
I have a question regarding the back of the leg where the crease is when you bend your leg. I noticed that in that area right above the crease it looks like a lump but it's on both sides of my legs equally. Does anyone know what this is? Could this be cancer? It is not hard but more like soft fat or tissue. It is not only on one leg but on both sides. It kind of looks like it is defined where if you look further up my thighs its looks like it is connected to some kind of muscle.
I have a hard marble sized lump on the back of my thigh. About three inches above the back of my knee. It doesn't hurt though...only if I mess with it. It isn't growing on the outside of my skin, it's under it. I am only 21 years old but have already had a tumor on my thyroid and had to have a partial thyroidectomy. So now any kind of bumps and lumps scare me since I ignored my thyroid lump for far too long. Other strange thing, I have had this since I was about 15. It was smaller then.
