At first most people wonder what on earth a cough syrup has to do with fertility, but the logic is easily found in the fact that it is an expectorant and is being used to loosen and thin mucus - just in a different place than the lungs! The name Robitussin was used in the title of this FAQ as it is a common brand of cough syrup in the United States. It is used on the fertility boards and newsgroups in the same manner as saying Band-Aid for an adhesive strip used to cover a cut.

I just started taking clomid and i read to start the guaifenesin on day 10 till ovulation. On a website for fertility i read that you need to take 200mg three times a day!

ve heard about taking Robitussin or Mucinex (guaifenesin) as and OTC aide and was wondering if anyone has had any success with it? Also, I've heard great reviews for Daily Wellness FertilityBlend from GNC. Is that one any good or is just a standard Prenatal vitamin a better choice?

does anyone know any other fertility treatments i can try apart from Clomid, that doesnt have "cysts" as a side effect? ive just had a cyst removed and hoping to speak now with my doctor about fertility treatment, i would like to try clomid but...cysts!! what else is out there to help me make a little baby??

I am just looking for natural ways to help increase fertility. I miscarried for a reason and would do anything to prevent it from happening again. Not sure if there is much to do, i know it is all left in Gods hands, but its nice to know i could be helping it along. just figure may i haven't gotten preggo yet is because the sperm is not swimming in enough cm, and so it has less chances to reach the egg. Just taking a wild guess here. Or maybe i do not have enough progesterone.

Guaifenesin, how much is an Overdose? My daughter 11 years old 100 lbs (big for her age), took (the correct dose) 5mL cough and cold medicine that had the following in that dose. Guaifenesin, USP 100 mg, Dextromethorpan HBr, USP 10 mL. Phenylephedrine HCI, USB 5mg. But then she also took (the correct dose) 10 mg of a prescription medicine Guaifenesin-Codeine syrup (generic for Robitussin AC syrup). It doesn't state on the label the quantity of Guaifenesin mg in the 5mL dose.

I've had asthma since I was little, and as far as I've gathered, expectorant is for non-asthmatic cough sufferers while mucolytics are for asthmatics. Is this true? The alternative is guaifenesin, which you can buy over-the-counter. Mucinex contains guaifenesin, but I would get the plain guaifenesin. It works very well.

Has anyone ever gotten guaifenesin with codeine prescribe. Want to know feed back on it I'm 12+4 days. Help please trying to get rid of this plhuem I had still. But kinda un sure.

I finished my last Clomid pills (100mg) on Friday, March 19...and here lately I have noticed that I have not had any CM for the past few days...what should I do? I am taking 600mg of guaifenesin in an attempt to loosen any mucus I have...I'm really hoping and praying that we conceive this round...I am supposed to be ovulating between today and the 29th...

I have done some research and it appears that clomid can dry up cervical mucus in some people.But if you take robitussin that contains the ingredient (guaifenesin) only and take 1 teaspoon morning and night its supposed to help.But you only take it after your period ends and stop when you ovulate.Drinking a daily glass of grapefruit juice also helps as does eating sweet potato or yams.I am using conceive plus also which is a lubricant similar to preseed.

I am on CD 8 and have only a sensitive nipple on the left one. Weird, I know. I just started taking mucinex (guaifenesin ingredient only) last night and can already tell my CM is more. Can Mucinex (Guaifenesin) cause gastritis or irritate existing gastritis/ulcer? I was taking Mucinex for 5 days, 400mg once a day, and now my stomach is bothering me (burning pain). I have suffered from gastritis and a gastric ulcer in the past. Could this medication cause or aggravate those problems? It was actually helping my sinuses to drain, but now I'm afraid to take it.

Hi i can confirm that the cough syrup is robitussin chesty cough medicine that contains (guaifenesin) only.Its in a red and black box.I have never noticed my cervical mucus ever before and this was my first month on clomid.I took robitussin every morning and evening (5ml dose).You only take it after AF has ended and stop when you ovulate.I drank a glass of grapefruit juice every morning as its supposed to help CM too.

iv been doing alot of looking on the internet about this sort of thing. there is a cough syrup called Robitussin (guaifenesin cough syrup) i know it sounds stupid because it is cough syrup, but as it has guaifenesin in it, it clears not only the mucas on your chest but also makes your cervical mucas thinner and runnier so the seman can swim through better. look it up on google. but make sure you get the one with guaifenesin in it as the other ones can dry up the cervical mucas .
