Avatar f tn My thyroid is growing back! Now what? I was diagnosed with Graves Disease when I was 15 and got really sick by 16 when the Graves Disease kicked in big time. I had opted to have my thyroid removed and they removed all but the ParaThyroids. I have been on synthroid /levoxal ever since. I am told that my thyroid is functioning very well at .869 (THS?) and now reduced my meds to .112mcg of levoxal. Is the graves disease coming back?

Avatar m tn my 8 years old daughter' eyebrow hair are falling slowly and there is no new growth in that area. This is happening with only one eyebrow. what should I do. I am worried.
Avatar f tn I have thyroid problems, first hyper, then hypo, but my hair was never the same, I bought these, and I swear by them, they do work, my hair never looked and felt and GREW as healthy as it did. Remember though to take vitamins at least 4 hours apart from your thyroid medication so it doesn't interfere.
Avatar n tn When a thyroid gland has been removed completely is it possible for regrowth, of sorts: my doc keeps reducing the amount or thyroid replacement medication and said that sometimes the thyroid can regrow ... but has made no attempt to test or explain further.
Avatar n tn The pattern and quality of hair regrwoth after losing hair to chemotherapy can be varied and is different from one person to another. Most people would have thicker hair upon regrowth but like in your situation, some can grow thin sparse hair. It is indeed possible that this can be a lasting consequence of the chemotherapy. There are new technologies regarding hair regrowth and I'm sure your dermatologists know these.
Avatar f tn A few weeks later, I noticed hair regrowth. My hair loss accelerated during this time, but I also started noticing new hair growing in. My hair loss situation seemed to be turning around. I visited the dermatologist again and he said he noticed some regrowth of what he called "good" hair (dark, pigmented). At that time (unbeknownst to me) I was two weeks pregnant. A week later I found out I was pregnant. During this time my hair growth seemed to stay the same.
Avatar f tn is there anything that i can use to help my once thick hair to stop from the thinning of my hair...im also on hormonal replacements.and had a full hysterctomy if that helps along with figuring what can help me regain a little fullness to my hair. any advice is greatfully helpful thxs.
Avatar n tn It it unusual for regrowth to take this long? Can TE cause permanent hair loss? My understanding is that hair falls out when a new hair underneah pushes it out- if this is true, why am I not seeing new hair growth?
Avatar m tn I'm a 27 y/o male who's been diagnosed with Lyme disease and co-infections; babesia and bartonella. Lyme is notorious for causing adrenal fatigue and thyroid issues. I have some symptoms of hypothyroidism that were induced by using oxycodone (i.e. cold hands and feet, cold intolerance, dry skin, loss of hair (scalp, eye brows, and body hair). I've been losing my hair since I was 19, which is when I believe I was first infected...and it's becoming very noticable a frustrating.
Avatar f tn In regards to hair removal, any technique (including waxing) that does not “destroy” hair follicle (“root”) will result in hair regrowth. New generation of hair-reduction lasers are suitable to treat even patients with light colored hairs. Wishing You Optimal Health, Dr.
Avatar n tn I have Graves disease and I am taking Tapazole since 6 months. First 4 months, I was hyper and was taking 20mg/day. The last 2 months, I turned to Hypo and reduced the dose to 15mg/day then 10mg/day. Since I started being hypo, I am experiencing a rapid hair loss. I would say that I lost between 30-50% of my hair. I am applying Minixodil for women since one month and I have not seen any improvement. Is this because of Graves Disease or is it a side effect of Tapazole.

Avatar f tn hi I have recently seen my doctor about 2 lumps on either side of my neck, he done blood tests which he said were basically fine, I am now having blurred vision and the lumps are causing uncomfortable ache in the back of my head, I have read about graves disease and many of the symptoms I have, could the doctor have missed graves disease?
Avatar n tn Hi. Hair loss from chemotherapy or radiation therapy is usually temporary. The hair grows back a few months after stopping treatment. However, there are a few cases where hair loss may be permanent, particularly with repeated radiation treatment to the head. It's hard to predict which types of patients will have permanent hair loss. It really depends on differences between the bodies of individuals.
Avatar f tn My eyelashes fell out and came back a couple of times...I think it's because those hairs are short lived and replace themselves pretty quickly. I always considered the first hair to regrow the "bad" hair.... it seems very brittle and not quite right. Once that grows out, the newer hair should be more normal. Congrats on the twins. I had my last little girl while on chemo.
1156401 tn?1262387108 They may be able to recommend products that would be easy on this new hair that may help to get your new hair style similar to your pre-chemotherapy look. May you be a SURVIVOR for a very long..long time to come.Good luck and God Bless.
Avatar f tn Okay, I have Graves disease...I had had it for almost 2 years (as I know of) I really haven't treated it at all. My doctor is an hour away and I have transportation issues....my symptoms are palpitations, shortness of breath, mood swings, hair falling out, extreme fatigue & night sweats. I also recently had a miscarriage eventhough my levels were better. My question is what can I do about this. I don't want to have RAI....
Avatar n tn she said my tsh was 0.00 and that i should come straight in to see her the next am. thus began my graves disease journey. i had RAI in 2000 and slowly but surely with the beta blocker started to feel and think healthy again. did have some collateral damage, my stomach become very, very sensitive and i am now completely gluten intolerant....bummer.
1314073 tn?1282841674 I was just diagnosed with Graves Disease. I've been doing reasearch on the Internet and now I am TERRIFIED! Are my eyes going to bulge and my hair fall out? Does this happen to everyone with Graves Disease. I know this sounds vain, but fear is fear and this is all I can think about. Thanks for any help you can give me.
Avatar f tn My mother was diagnosed in her early 40s with graves disease and her thyroid was removed, around the same time she was diagnosed with stage 3-4 colon cancer. I'm aware there are connections between autoimmune diseases and thyroid and intestinal diseases/conditions. As I'm getting older I'm noticing I'm following in the same physiological footsteps my mother did before she was diagnosed.
Avatar m tn how i can get my hair,is there any best treatment for hair regroth.hair regrowth is possible or not?
