Avatar m tn Hi guys I was talking to a friend he told me that southern Arizona aids foundation does HIV testing do you think next time I actually need to test this would be a good place to get testing done? Iam thinking there probably a little more knowledge on the subject then most clinics.
Avatar m tn Hi, I had UNPROTECTED sex with someone who I found out later had something, they wont tell me what. I need help. I am from a place where they have NO STD testing. I will be in the chicago/glenview area next week (march 25-31) I have looked high and low trying to find a place where I can get a comprehensive test and very rapid results. I want to get my results back and any possible treaatment before I leave the country. Does anyone know of any exact locations where this can be done.
Avatar f tn Only way to know if you have HIV is to be tested after three months of last exposure. You may find free HIV testing centers who do rapid tests by doing a google search online with your city. If you have trouble email me and I will help you find a center near you.
Avatar m tn Hey i was wondering if hiv/aids/std testing is free and if there is an age limit. im 16 and scared to tell my mom that i may have contracted one of these. any help will be great. . .
Avatar f tn If you have the traditional HSV 2 test done, the IgG (forget the IgM), then you have HSV 2 infection, and with more than 98% certainty, it is genital. The rest of the testing has no bearing on this particular issue. Genital herpes symptoms can appear anywhere between waist and mid-thigh - lower abdomen, thigh, anus, buttocks or genitals. Do you recall having any symptoms in any of those locations? Why did you have the herpes testing done?
Avatar f tn I waited 3 months and took a rapid Insti hiv test at a free aids clinic. Then my OCD came back a day later .. Having thought like was the tesr kit contiminated .. Lancet of pipette was dirty.. What if the tester in the free clinic was trying to infect me? It is a free testing facility is there a risk? So I'm 5 weeks after getting tested I am still worried. I always Google transmission risk of a lancet and everybody says there not reusae. It's like my mind won't believe it.

Avatar m tn This subject is discussed here ad nauseum. Anyone is free to decide for themselves when they feel comfortable testing. ON THIS FORUM, we adhere to the official guidelines, the doctors take a more liberal stance. Dr. HHH often posts a few links to posts he's made that explains in detail about testing protocols, and why they give the advice THEY do, and why we give the advice we do. They are a good read.
Avatar n tn I am one of the workers in one organization that works via internet where people can get informed about STD testing places and suggestions about test and time intervals. Of course we always advise doctor visits or at least STD advisors, because here in this location there is not STD clinic, so you basically have to go all around.
Avatar n tn it depends on where you live. best way to find out what is reportable where you live is to call and ask your local health department. syphilis, gonorrhea, hiv, chlamydia and hepatitis nationally reportable. some locations add others.
Avatar f tn I just found out about 12 years ago my mate was unfaithful and i have gotten tested recently with an third generation eia antibody test hiv1/2 with reflexes, a rapid blood test, 4 oraquick home tests and all came back negative. But ive read ur post that some people with aids antibodies wont show on those tests. Im very scared that im in that stage and the tests i took arent sufficient enough to know for sure.
Avatar m tn I have to say a do not agree with the doctors opinion due to my own situation I have had over the last few years. I have posted in other locations for the this problem in 2008 when i first had unprotected sex. My experience with the health care system for std's I have to say has not been a good one. I feel like I have found more information online than the doctors are aware of.
Avatar n tn you can develop a latex reaction over time too. it's certainly worth getting tested for too. herpes is more typical as not being blisters to be honest. especially if you had hsv and never knew it and this just caused your first obvious recurrence. definitely follow up on this. while there, mention your concern about herpes so they can determine what testing is appropriate. If you've never had a type specific herpes igg blood test before, ask for one while it's on your mind.
Avatar m tn This panel includes Free T3, Free T4 and TSH. There are 3 testing locations in L.A. plus others in CA that may be closer to you... you can check that out.
Avatar m tn Dear Dr., I know the topic of fears from extraordinarily low risk HIV exposures has been run into the ground on this and other sites. I'm certain that most of the extreme anxieties over HIV from receiving unprotected oral is the result of irrational paranoia and/or a guilt response. Unfortunately I find myself in this situation and the easy answer of getting the "peace of mind" testing is causing me even more stress.
Avatar m tn Is that true no fever in 2-4 weeks after high-risk certainly not infected with AIDS
1530342 tn?1405016490 Dec 1st marked the 25th anniversary of World AIDS Day, a time when the president urges Americans to come together in support of those affected by HIV/AIDS, and continue the commitment to a world free from the disease. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton echoed President Obama’s views. “We have set the goal,” she said. “We know it is possible.
