Avatar f tn I waited 3 months and took a rapid Insti hiv test at a free aids clinic. Then my OCD came back a day later .. Having thought like was the tesr kit contiminated .. Lancet of pipette was dirty.. What if the tester in the free clinic was trying to infect me? It is a free testing facility is there a risk? So I'm 5 weeks after getting tested I am still worried. I always Google transmission risk of a lancet and everybody says there not reusae. It's like my mind won't believe it.
667078 tn?1316000935 They gear the course to people who can hardly walk all the way through people who do not need walk aids most of the time. The class is only $30 for the 16 hrs and they feed us. They gave us a great notebook with all kinds of information. I really like the PT exercises. One PT session for me is $70 so I happy to have this program. The other people in the class are really neat. They all have their own stories. I feel so fortunate to have a program like this.
Avatar f tn then I ask if the doctor is willing to treat a patient by testing and adjusting levels of free T3 and free T4, with whatever meds are required to relieve symptoms, without being constrained by resultant TSH levels. I also ask if the doctor is willing to prescribe meds other than T4 types. If the answer to either question is no, then I keep on looking for a good thyroid doctor. http://www.thyroid-info.com/topdrs/massachusetts.

Avatar m tn This subject is discussed here ad nauseum. Anyone is free to decide for themselves when they feel comfortable testing. ON THIS FORUM, we adhere to the official guidelines, the doctors take a more liberal stance. Dr. HHH often posts a few links to posts he's made that explains in detail about testing protocols, and why they give the advice THEY do, and why we give the advice we do. They are a good read.
Avatar f tn Hansfield, I felt so much better after your message and I also called the Aids Hotline which was out of Boston Massachusetts. They told me that my 6 week negative rapid Unigold test was conclusive unless I was undergoing chemotherapy, had an organ transplant etc.
Avatar f tn I just found out about 12 years ago my mate was unfaithful and i have gotten tested recently with an third generation eia antibody test hiv1/2 with reflexes, a rapid blood test, 4 oraquick home tests and all came back negative. But ive read ur post that some people with aids antibodies wont show on those tests. Im very scared that im in that stage and the tests i took arent sufficient enough to know for sure.
Avatar m tn At best it is an indicator, to be considered along with more important indicators such as symptoms and also levels of the biologically active thyroid hormones, which are Free T3 and Free T4 (not Total T3 and Total T4). FF3 is the most important because it largely regulates metabolism and many other body functions. FT3 has also been shown to correlate best with hypo symptoms, while FT4 and TSH did not correlate very much at all.
1936411 tn?1333831849 Hey folks. I will be spending a couple of years in Boston for grad school, and I'm thinking about hooking up with an MS research center while I'm there to try to access services like cognitive testing, classes, treatment for fatigue, cognitive therapy, etc., etc., etc. (maybe If I'm lucky I can even bring in a little extra dough through participating in a paid clinical trial?) From the National MS Society website, I have found the following centers in Boston: 1.

1530342 tn?1405016490 Dec 1st marked the 25th anniversary of World AIDS Day, a time when the president urges Americans to come together in support of those affected by HIV/AIDS, and continue the commitment to a world free from the disease. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton echoed President Obama’s views. “We have set the goal,” she said. “We know it is possible. Now we have to deliver.” How optimistic should we be about efforts to combat HIV/AIDS? http://tv.msnbc.
Avatar n tn Well if you have 2 HIV specialists say they have never seen a 6 week negtaive turn positive then you can take that for whatever its worth. I would be damn confident in a 6 week test. You dont even need to be thinking of this though because you have a conclusive result and the thing that you think is a possible risk is really silly.
