Avatar m tn Hello Dr. HHH or Hook I tested for HIV at the Dallas County Health and Human Services Department. It was a Rapid HIV test as well as a Nucleic Acid Test for the virus itself and I was tested for syphilis as well. All of my tests came back negative and this was 47 or 48 days after potential exposure. I made sure to ask whether the testing facility re-uses needles/syringes and I was assured that they do not.
Avatar f tn During her stay at parkland she was diagnosed with tuberculosis, she got meningitis, that cryptocuccus bacteria, a stool disease, kaposi sarcoma, all the stuff AIDS Related. She passed 10/31/2009 at midnight of end stage AIDS. After her death another worry began. Did I have aids? Did my 3 year old have it as well? See, my mama and I were very close we shared eye liner, loofahs, almost everything. My daughter would bite her and make her bleed. We shared it all.

Avatar f tn Have you tried yoga? There are a lot of different kinds of yoga including types for people with disabilities and limited ability to exercise. I just saw this video this morning about DDP yoga. Check it out... ------- http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=43b_1336196213 Arthur Boorman was a disabled veteran of the Gulf War for 15 years, and was told by his doctors that he would never be able to walk on his own, ever again.
1152782 tn?1451101426 Has anyone dealth with Dallas IVF? I just sent my first request for info from them. I haven't spoken to a specialist yet, but I wanted to get an idea about costs. Their website looks promising, but of course it's probably a bit biased. lol. I was hoping to get some info so my DH and I can be prepared of what to expect and when to start. He wants to wait until we're debt free next year. And I'm okay with that.....But I am a planner and any advice would be appreciated.

Avatar m tn About two months ago I was diagnosed with syphilis and treated with penicillin. I was told to go back for further testing in three months to see if it's been treated successfully, though I've read in a few places that due to the presence of antibodies after a syphilis infection, future blood tests will always remain positive for syphilis. Is this true? And if so, how can they accurately diagnose if treatment has fully eradicated the syphilis infection? Thank you!
Avatar m tn This subject is discussed here ad nauseum. Anyone is free to decide for themselves when they feel comfortable testing. ON THIS FORUM, we adhere to the official guidelines, the doctors take a more liberal stance. Dr. HHH often posts a few links to posts he's made that explains in detail about testing protocols, and why they give the advice THEY do, and why we give the advice we do. They are a good read.
Avatar f tn A good thyroid doctor will treat a hypo patient clinically by testing and adjusting Free T3 and Free T4 as necessary to relieve symptoms, without being constrained by resultant TSH levels. You can get some good insight into clinical treatment from this letter written by a good thyroid doctor for patients that he sometimes consults with after initial tests and evaluation. The letter is then sent to the participating doctor of the patient to help guide treatment.
