Avatar m tn these may cause elevation in blood pressure, heart rate and result in CNS stimulation/excitation. Albuterol may also increase risk of arrhythmias. Such effects are quiet negligible when given by inhalational route. Drug should be taken when necessary and should not be repeated in short interval. Fluticasone mainly acts as anti inflammatory drug and has no action on heart. Hence, these drugs can be safely given in patients with Atrial fibrillation.
Avatar m tn hello doc i am 21 m from Punjab India i am using "Azelastine hydrochloride & Fluticasone Propionate" Nasal spray from last 3 years for my allergic nose problem , my nose gets watery and i start sneezing badly whenever it begins. So far i have tried using citrizine tablets which didn't workout for me. But Duonase the nasal spray is very effective and addicting. And i just noted that i am suffering from high blood pressure these days. I doubt it may be because of this spray.
Avatar n tn There were no other treatments or procedures to go through; and based on the primary characteristics of the tumor, my oncologist told me he was 95 - 98% sure I would not have any problems from this. I recently heard about this allergy nasal spray called Veramyst and called my physician for a perscription. They told me they could not perscribe because of my melanoma diagnosis.
Avatar f tn To my knowledge Advair® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) has not been linked to strokes. Have you heard anything about this in the lay press?
Avatar m tn I called and asked and she just said to also take phenlyeprine (sudaphed PE) and guaifenesin (Mucinex). These help quite a bit, but they make me jittery and queasy, I have to pee really often, and I'm still sleepy from the other stuff, and I still have some congestion and sore throat. So what do I do now? Did I just get really horrible genetics and there's nothing I can do?
3123787 tn?1384180687 Unfortunately, i had forgotton i was on it. He said my bloodwork on my enlarged prostate was normal, but the day before, my urolist said my prostate was worse, & im holding 24 percent, still. Originally, i didnt know any better, & i realised something ws wrong when snot looking material came out of my penis. I ws lucky cas i only had to be cath. only 1 month.
Avatar n tn He suggested I continue on the drops for a week and then take a break and then take readings and see what happens. I did as asked and found that my pressures were about 19. Stayed off the drops and returned a month later for a check up and found them to be 37. Now I'm back on drops. Is it possible the nasal spray caused this (impossible to get good data) and is it possible it will take some time for it to return to normal? Is this very unlikely?
Avatar f tn Question, do the Flovent and Advair have the fluticasone propionate ingredient in common? Tonight will be my 1st use of the Flovent. Concerned that I may have a mitral valve problem plus the emphysema. My symptoms of attack are severe shortness of breath, high heart rate, and the immediate need to urinate. Does anyone have anything similar to this? I have not been advised supplemental oxygen as of yet.

Avatar n tn The Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol may raise your saturation, to a degree that will make oxygen use unnecessary. Your current dose of Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol is low and, at this level, highly unlikely to be associated with any clinically significant side effects. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a progressive disease that will slowly worsen.
Avatar f tn I am allergic to nine enviromental allergens and have been taking fluticasone propionate (flo-nase) for the past three monts and it's been working fine to treat sinus pressure, my only main symptom. However, since i started, i've noticed for the first time in as long as i remember that i've been getting thick nasal mucus either dark red or black, sometimes streaked and sometimes completely colored, while before it's always been thin and clear.
Avatar n tn Hello, I hope you meant to say phenylepherine which is a decongestant and fluticasone which is a steroid.Yes you can take them at the same time(if using for nasal congestion) but you should not use decongestants for more than 5-7 days at a time. This is because they can only provide short-term relief for catarrh, and using them for any longer can make your symptoms worse.Corticosteroids work by helping to reduce inflammation and congestion. So they should be used along with decongestants.
Avatar f tn I have been to the dermatologist a few times and have been told it was intertrigo. It is not as my skin is clear and no redness. I am a healthy 34 year old and do not have any weight issues etc. They told me to use some powders such as zeasorb AF and gold bond. They also prescribed Fluticasone to use once a day for 3 weeks. They powders help for very short term but the feeling comes right back. The cream didn't seem to do anything. I am lost as to what this is but am miserable with it.
2114467 tn?1358210256 Since fluticasone undergoes extensive first-pass and systemic metabolism via hepatic and intestinal CYP450 3A4, inhibition of the isoenzyme may significantly increase systemic bioavailability of the drug. The interaction has been reported in patients receiving fluticasone with other potent CYP450 3A4 inhibitors such as azole antifungal agents and HIV protease inhibitors.
Avatar f tn All of this is on the left side and it rately radiates to the other side. Occasionally the pressure/tightness is accompanied by a dull, pulsating ache in the aforementioned areas. Pressing the point where the bridge of the nose and forehead meet gives some relief. Lying down on my back with the back of my head firmly pressed against a pillow also gives relief, but once I rise the pressure/tightness is back again after some time.
Avatar n tn Advair™ Diskus® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Powder contains 2 medicines. The inhaled steroid Flovent® (fluticasone propionate) has a half life of around 5 hours, so it would be totally out of your system in a few days. The inhaled long-acting bronchodilator Serevent® (salmeterol) has a similar half life, so it would be totally out of your system after 5 days. When steroid side effects occur, they may linger for weeks or even months after the medicine has been stopped.
Avatar f tn azelastine and fluticasone. She also put me on Ranitidine. I also use the nedi-pod. I started feeling better, but after the 30 day supply, I began feeling it all come back. Saw GI and he put me on Dexilant 30 day supply and that did not help. I went back to ENT. She put me back on everything plus methlprednisolone (6 day). I started feeling better for a good month. Even stopped the sleeping pill. Then I started feeling it all come back. Went to ER after a weekend of suffering.
Avatar n tn I'm taking amoxicillin and my cheeks are very red, like i'm sunburnt, and very hot. It's only on my cheeks no where else on my face or body. I've been givien this same medicine many times and have never had this reaction, The only other thing I can think about is I was given a corticosteroid shot and nasal spray called Fluticasone. It's not shown as a side effect of the nasal spray, but could it be from one of these other medicines. Should I call my pharmacist or doctor?
Avatar m tn I noticed that there is a small patch on my left chin, where beard is scanty. It is not completely gone but the hair is scanty and the patch is obvious. I went to my dermatologist and he told me it is Alopecia Areata, though it could be in "initial stages" and it is "too hard to say anything". He told me to apply fluticasone cream twice a day, for a month. And if the hair doesn't grow back, he will give me steroid injections. Should I get those injections?
Avatar n tn all the tests have been done and there is no problem in blood urine heart etc.,i have undergone severe nebulisations, antibiotic treatment and also use of sprays like seroflow asthalin and also used budecort duolin in nebulisations but still wheezing persists.....now doctor has advised me to take odimont-lc, fluticone ft, Medrol-4 mg formanide....my doubt now is does any of these medicines contain steroids and if so will it have any other side effect ....
Avatar n tn While it is possible that the Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) could have had something to do with your developing shingles, it is very unlikely. The risk of death you mention is a very, very small risk. Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) is generally well tolerated by most people with asthma but more than a few side effects have been reported, especially with the dose that contains the highest amount of fluticasone.

Avatar n tn i have had bad headhaces and pain in my nose like presure and tender to touch down each side of my face
Avatar m tn The finding are Empty Sella and Minimal Paranasel Sinus Desease and mild mucosal thickening in some of the Paranasal Sinuses. I still have the top head pressure/headache and no or very little sinus drainage. I went to see a ENT specialist at National Jewish and he looked down my nose with a camera scope and found nothing. After I told him I had used Oxymetazoline HCL nasal spray for years he said I destroyed my sinuses and no hope.
