flomax side effects for women

I have taken Flomax for a week, and am very weary of the side effects. It effects my vision - I can feel it in my eyes. It dulls my brain, I can feel it in my head. It caused the ringing in my ears to get worse. I've had minor chest pain for a few days. All of these are on the list of side effects.

Hi, Thanks for writing in. Prostatitis is usually not a side effect of use of flomax, indeed it can happen due to BPH, for which flomax is used as treatment. It would be better to get prostrate examination done by a urologist and take opinion for surgery for resolving these symptoms. Choice of antibiotics depends upon the kind of organism affecting the prostrate. Best.

Most likely neither one is possible for me. If the drugs help with urination, I would remain on them and gladly take the side effects of sexual dysfunction. Currently I will have to decide whether I will remain with the suprapubic catheter or will have a surgery to alter the flow of urine. This would mean closing the urethra to the penis and having a dry stoma created on the abdominal wall that I can self cath again.

But the insomnia was miserable so I called my doctor to ask if there was anything I could do for the side effects, so he switched me to 3 wks of doxycycline, which I started taking immediately. Now I sleep OK but after two days the symptoms are back in full force. I'm wondering if I made a mistake in switching. Have others had similar experiences? Is doxy just slower to take effect?

My neurologist recently put me on a Detrol LA for a week, then had me add Flomax. I noticed a slight improvement with the Detrol, but when I added the Flomax things urinary got dramatically better. But, shortly after starting the Flomax, I discovered that I did not produce any ejaculate! Not that sex is a big thing with me (staying upright while standing takes precidence), but it is still an important part of life (if only rarely).

Age 64, with flomax I experience no pleasure with my orgasms. Is this because of the retrograd ejac. or is it a side effect of the medication? I may need to have surgery to improve my urinary flow, but retrograde ejac is a common outcome of these surgeries, and I need to know if I am at risk for losing my orgasm pleasure . I do see an occasional posting of men who have lost their pleasure after these surgeries, with no recourse.

Whatever you do, just be careful of the levaquin...the side effects can be very dangerous. From what ive heard, the fda has some sort of black label warning on this drug, the most severe warning a drug can have...next is to pull it off the shelf. I was on Levaquin for 5 days and have experienced much of the same side effects of others.

Should I take these meds even though the Flomax (tamsulosin) is not approved for women? Also considering my past medical history Im scared to take either meds, should I? History- Irritable bowel syndrome, (past)stomach ulcers, smoker, and just diagnosed with Fibrous Dysplasia (still finding out more information and getting more testing, health problems with this also started in Feb.

Dizziness, unusual weakness, drowsiness, trouble sleeping, or runny nose, fainting, vision changes, sexual problems (difficulty ejaculating, decreased interest in sex), fast heartbeat etc are the usual side effects of flomax. This has had the opposite effect by making me need to urinate more than before the Dextrol. Has anyone seen/had these side effects? I have another appt with urologist in 9 days. Just looking to see if this is expected or out of the ordinary. Thanks for any help and/or suggestions.

Im such an idiot) I didnt know if there may be another cause or another type of STD I wasnt tested for or if in fact I am still having residual effects from Prostatis?

Well the Prostatitis recurred and coens and goes… I heard about the belt… reluctant to do the flomax hence the side effects…. It really does sucks….
